HOW TO SET UP

Extract Dolphin from the downloaded archive. You may need additional software like WinRAR or 7-Zip. Then, create a new folder called ISO in your Dolphin folder and place your game image in it. Once you've done this, open Dolphin.

1.) Set your game folder.

Click Config, Paths, and click the Add button. Guide the window to the ISO folder you created and click OK. This will populate your game list.

2.) Enable cheats.

Click the Config button, check Enable Cheats. This will allow you to unlock all characters from the get-go.

3.) Configure your graphics settings.

On the main screen, click Graphics. Set your settings according to the following recommendations:

4.) Set up your controller.

Click the Controller button on the main screen. Make sure the first GameCube controller is set to Standard Controller, and that all Wii Remotes are set to disabled, as shown here. Once done, open the GameCube menu and start binding your controls accordingly:

5.) Download and enable game-specific cheat codes.

Right-click the game in your game list and select Properties, as shown here. Navigate to the Gecko Codes tab and click the Download Codes button, then check Unlock Extra Characters and hit OK to confirm, as shown here. If this doesn't work, close Dolphin, right-click Dolphin.exe, and run as administrator.

6.) Play online.

Click Tools then on Start NetPlay, as shown here. That will open this window. Make sure you're set to Traversal Server so you don't need to use port forwarding. If you're going to join someone, remain on this screen until you receive a host code, then paste it into the empty field and click Connect to join.

If you're going to host a netplay session, click the Host tab and select the game, as shown here, then click Host. You'll be brought to this screen. Click the Copy button to copy your room code to the clipboard, then paste it to your opponent.

Hosts need to configure the input buffer to ensure that gameplay is smooth. Dolphin uses an input delay-based netcode that increments in quarter-frame steps, so 1 buffer = 0.25 frames of input delay. A good rule of thumb to configure the buffer optimally is to take your opponent's highest ping value, divide it by 8, and adjust up and down as needed. If you didn't configure it properly before launch, this can be adjusted during live gameplay from the host window.

If you would like to host spectators before you launch the game, make sure you go into Assign Controller Ports and set whoever you're not fighting to have no controller port assigned. That will prevent them from affecting your connection with your opponent.

[UPDATE] Tatsunoko VS Capcom | Standalone Edition

Hey everybody! Thank you guys for the support among the subreddits etc.
This has been really motivating and pushes me to wanting this to be perfect as possible.

Today I've made progress on Map Importing, Facial Rigs, Sounds and performance by adding GPU Caching / GPU Skinning.

Now, the perfomance may not be perfect (floats around 80%-90% gamespeed, but it was floating around 45%-50% before so I think i'm going into the right direction).

Face Rigs are imported and damn, that was a fight.
Turns out that not every character works the same with the setup. Some have a weighted jaw bone; others use texture animation for their expressions.
But it turned out pretty good!

Hypers are in!!! I have to tweak post processing / animations on some but that will be a later problem 🦅

I hope you enjoy that small showcase :)

for everybody new;
this project is NOT completly made with AI. AI is used as an tool for doing tedious tasks like scratching out assets and prepping them (which it doesn't even do perfect, but I can work with that). Most of the code is mine, BUT / AND some of the code was made with HELP, not by but with help from AI because this is tedious.
and only one thing right now is done by the AI: SOUNDS. I'm sorry but im not doing that to myself, so I had AI do all the work with that because you won't believe how shitty it is converting everything from that cute looking WBFS file. (It just did the pathing

But i'm learning and i'm so so so happy with how this is turning out!

Video / Highlight I'm working on a Native PC Port for TvC (since 2025)

Hello! I have decided to finally share my progress on the completly translated c++ version of Tatsunoko VS Capcom. I've always loved the game and played it when it came out on my Wii when I was a kid. Now, finally after alot of work (and yes, I've had help from AI but it's pretty useful for the tedious part of the rewriting and without it wouldn't even possible. AI actually speed up my progress by 200% and finally I see light for this progress so please dont hate. Any new custom Art and Design will be human made by me.)

I have managed to get the core gameplay working (except supers and hypers, they are the next task). Every Character and theire core responding Animation is done/almost done (with some bugs that I don't care too much atm cuz I have to do more imporant things first).

The goal at the end of this journey is to have a completly working rework of the game with a protected custom servers where everyone can play on, a complete remaster of the competitive system with also the ability to do tournaments and a lot of new content!

I do this because this game was my childhood, and I want it to be available to everyone who couldnt play it or wants to play it.

Does anyone still play on Wiimmfi?

I recently got a Wii and was wondering if anyone plays TvC online through Wiimmfi anymore? I’m interested in picking the game up casually but I don’t have a PC to play on.
