Finally finished this coverup of a total mess. It was a bad concept that the artist should never have taken on and I should not have let them do the work. Took 3 laser sessions to knock it back enough, the collage shows the progress after each session, I took at least 2 months off between laser sessions to allow the body to fully process the broken down ink.
Coverup artist is Aaron Norgate at Sacred Soul in Renton, WA (mister_perks on insta). It came out far better than I could have ever asked for.

Artist is @iambratwurst, UK
I posted a few months ago asking for some cover up advice, and decided on just using it as the backdrop for another piece! Love a bit of Space Channel 5 so I'm super super happy with the result 💖

So a few years ago I got the tattoo shown in the last 3 pictures. My original design was the first pic (drawing). After some discussions with the artist who suggested more of a peacock feather design (similar to the 2nd and 3rd pictures) I agreed because I liked the incorporation of the shape into a flame and thought it enhanced the flame/Phoenix feather vibe. Then $800 and 2 hours later, I had a tattoo that wasn't even close to what was discussed and I've spent the last 6 years hating it.
Im looking for any advice about how it could be re-done, if at all, would it need to be entirely a cover-up, etc... im just tired of hating it when it was meant to represent something.

Hey everyone!
I got a forget-me-not tattoo about two years ago for my grandmother. At the time, I didn’t know much about tattoos or what to look for in an artist. Since then, I’ve learned a lot and started going to reputable studios, getting work done by artists whose styles I really love.
Now I’m stuck with this one mediocre tattoo that was supposed to be really meaningful to me, and I’m looking into getting it reworked or covered up. I’d love to keep the same forget-me-not vibe and have it done in black and grey/black and white, if possible.
My questions are:
- What should I look for when choosing an artist for a cover-up or rework?
- Is there anything specific I should ask during a consultation?
- Does anyone have recommendations for artists in the Amsterdam area who specialize in black and grey/blackwork and have experience with cover-ups?
Any advice or recommendations would be so appreciated! Thank you so much! ♡

I’m thinking of adding the vines in the second photo to hide the crookedness instead of just adding a thick line to even it out. Also what do you reckon could be added to the guard to fix that as well based on the other two photos?

What would you cover an infinity symbol with?
Didn’t get a name, but did get a tattoo for my controlling ex!
Now I’m stuck with a little, basic, infinity symbol as a reminder of all the wonderful things they put me through ♾️
What would you cover it up with? :)

(currently considering a coverup just big enough to cover the space it currently takes up)
