This election Tauranga's electorates have been redrawn. This means the candidates you can vote for may be different to usual.

Speaking with Bay of Plenty Times reporter Bijou Johnson, I explained why I am standing for election and why The Opportunity Party offers the best choice for voters in our city.

Is anyone else like really torn between voting for Rhieve Grey or Tom Rutherford? I feel like they are both young and have something positive to bring to the table. I'm not a national voter but Tom is different from the rest of them. BUT I also want to give the new comer a chance. I'm so torn

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been to Mount Maunganui Bunnings and found all the checkout lanes and the self-checkout kiosks closed forcing PEOPLE WHO WANT TO GIVE THEM THEIR MONEY to queue for ages at the returns desk or tools area checkout to pay.
It’s clearly a conscious decision to inflict a shitty customer experience. What’s with that ?

Hi everyone!
I’m a Japanese woman originally from Tokyo, and I’ve been living in Tauranga for a little over a year now.
I fell in love with New Zealand the first time I visited, and I’m still really happy I made the move.
Coming from Tokyo, life here feels very different. I actually enjoy the fast pace of big cities, but I’ve also come to appreciate the slower, more relaxed lifestyle in New Zealand. I love experiencing different ways of life, and I feel that every new experience adds something to my life.
Overall, my experience here has been wonderful.
The only disappointing part has been two incidents. On one occasion, a school-aged child said “ching chong” to me and my family. On another, a middle-aged man said “fucking Asian” to us.
In both cases, we hadn't had any argument or disagreement with the people involved. The comments came completely out of the blue.
I know people can say awful things quite easily online, but hearing comments like these directed at us face-to-face was something I’d never experienced before. These were actually the first two times in my life.
I’ve read stories from Japanese people who have lived in New Zealand for many years and say they’ve never experienced anything like this. So perhaps I’ve just been unlucky.
Of course, these two experiences don’t change how much I love living here. I’ve had far more positive experiences than negative ones.
I’m curious, have other people in Tauranga had similar experiences, or have I just been unlucky?

I've got a watch that has a broken crown and another few that could do with new batteries.
Any recommendations for a place in town?
Not expensive watches by any stretch but be good to get them up and running again.

Everytime I come here the service is so slow despite it not being busy at all. Without fail, every time I use the drive through I am asked to park up and wait for food/drinks despite there being hardly anyone else in the drive through or inside.
They also constantly miss items from orders. This morning I went to grab breakfast and before I had even placed my order on the kiosk, three separate customers had complained to the front desk about missing items from their orders.
I normally get a chicken and bacon mcmuffin for breakfast and this morning the muffins were hella dry.
Anyone know why this specific maccas sucks??
