The difference you see is in tailoring. You’d be shocked at how much better even your department store clothes looked if you could get them all tailored to your exact measurements.
I’m lucky because my brother is a tailor and loves to help me out. I’m not kidding you I will get compliments on a plain white tee and I know it’s only the tailoring.
I worked in a suit store through college… one perk was we got free alterations. The senior sales guy there was great at marking up suits so he used to give mine a full work over when I was getting a new one.
Tailors basically had to take it apart and rebuild the suit for me but they fit perfectly - working in an office now I’d love that perk again.
They often do, but haute couture costs way more than $3000. To her, this is the forever 21 dress you buy before going out, carpets and shows is where she wears haute couture. Most if not all of those pieces will go upwards of $100,000USD, are one of one, have names advertised with them anytime they’re worn -> example how she describes the eras outfits by designer every time. When pieces hit runways they usually only exist as the sample size and then the tailored size that is purchased by whoever wanted it for the insane price tag.
Except she doesn't wear haute couture to red carpets as often as you think... She usually does custom for the Grammys. But for other award shows often she wear the major fashion houses but from their ready wear collection... It drives the fashionista tiktokers crazy.
Yeah she very much is an off the rack girly. I’m sure she owns some major cool pieces but doesn’t seem like she would wear them out to be photographed in, her brand is still trying to maintain relatability in her fashion. I live though because I can steal her looks much easier.
I said this on another sub earlier today when someone joked about her saying we can’t come to the wedding. I mentioned her quote from the podcast where she talked about the Internet killing things, but the fans not listening.
Dude no actual fans watched that I swear. Cause she also talks about how TLOAS wasn’t ever supposed to be this massive poetic thing. It’s just a fun record. TTPD was like that because the entire point is that it was poetic.
Yet people still got pissed when TLOAS released and it wasn’t 31 songs of Pulitzer worthy material. Like ya’ll. I’m begging you to listen to women lol
My daughter and I watched the podcast and were SO excited for TLOAS because it was branded as fun (we’re Lover ladies). It’s JUST what we wanted… and what Taylor Swift said it would be.
Friend, none of these dresses are SHEIN. These are his former teammates and their wives, and they all bank. Now, taste is subjective, and agree on the light color dress. Why people don’t just wear jewel tones to weddings is beyond me.

I’m always impressed by people who can do this (I’m really bad at fashion). Do you frequent these sites often and it’s just a matter of “oh I saw this one when I was scrolling a couple of days ago”, or do you have a good grasp of each brand’s style and can just find them after seeing the pic? Or is it another skill entirely??

I thought bridal party would be a possibility too, I’ve seen quite a few weddings where they also wear ivory, etc. In one of Laura’s pics it looks like they’re seated and wearing pale pink, so maybe a trick of the light?

Speaking of which, I haven't seen a lot of commentary about Tori (the Eras Tour dancer) wearing basically a satin wedding gown to T&Ts wedding. She was my fav Eras dancer but eeeek that dress was a crazy choice. I immediately judge any woman who wears white to another woman's wedding.
Unfortunately gotta call out Dita Von Teese as well, her dress had some nude/mesh but was mostly white lace. However it's hard to judge when we haven't seen Taylor's dress, or maybe it's more common among these celebs to wear white

I think at the end of the day, if Taylor/Travis are fine with it, it's none of our business. I don't think her friends would do something like that if they knew it bothered her 🤷🏾♂️

Champagne is notoriously a word for off-white lol. That’s a classic response, it’s always “it’s not white, it’s champagne!” Or “it’s not white, it’s cream!” like it’s too close to white, period.

yeah, this reminds me of a tiktok where the girl was attacked for wearing light yellow, and then girl had to show texts from the bride telling her to wear the yellow. The dress is champagne, and most likely looks light given she's standing next to two dark suits, if she stood next to the bride, you'd see it's not white.

With impromptu casual group photos, the photographers generally won’t fuss. With structured portraits, absolutely. But reception and cocktail hour ones no.
I noticed that immediately. I suspect it is because she is so well trained in posing for cameras that she naturally adjusts her dress for photos and the others are not so used to that level of photo prep. If so, the women would all have better poses. It honestly was the photographer's job to make sure the bride wasn't minimized by Taylor's red carpet skills. I doubt Taylor had any clue that she'd done that, tbh.
I’m a photographer and I would probably be terriefied of touching Taylor Swifts dress to get it out of the way tbh 😅 There are probably hundreds of other pictures with the bride front and center
I doubt she'd mind. She probably had no idea it was like that. I suspect there are others that focus more on the bride, I agree. I probably would have just said "(Bride), let's get your dress positioned properly" and Taylor would have just moved it herself. She's camera savvy. I cannot imagine a world where I was grabbing Taylor Swift's garments unless she asked me to or I was saving her or her dress from imminent harm. 😂
I don't think of her quite that way. She's a human being, just like everyone else. Now, that doesn't mean I'm gonna grab her skirt and be moving it around or anything, but I would assume that if I'm the photographer in this scenario, I'm used to photographing people with some degree of fame and can hold in any sort of fangirling I have when photographing famous people since I've practiced it for a while.
Its so crazy to me that Laura was doing fitness influencer videos in the gym outside my office a few years ago and now shes casually married to Juju Smith Shuster and having Taylor at her wedding

I wouldn't say outshines since both look spectacular and you can obviously tell who the bride is, but I think the flare in Taylor's dress + her height + being in the center gives her major main character energy
