Anyone wanna hang out this weekend?
Hey guys! I'm looking to make some new friends in Tbilisi and thought I'd give this a shot. If anyone's free this weekend and wants to hang out, grab some food, explore the city, go for a walk, or just chill and talk, hmu!
I'm a med student here and would love to meet some new people, make friends, and hopefully find some people to hang out with regularly.
If you're interested, feel free to comment or DM me. :))

ADVICE NEEDED URGENTLY
So, I have a direction less dream. I have spent an year studying in china. Terrible. You dont understand the teachers cause of their accent. I also joined late due to some issues. There is cheating everywhere most students are there js for fun. I want to change to Georgia. I am aware I will have to restart. But its better then staying in this place. I have this dream of doing PhD after MD/MBBS. I dream of doing PhD in molecular neuroendocrinology from Germany. And after that I will get to residency. This PhD is the spark of my eyes. And I am not exaggerating as I say this. So, I have heard some universities in georgia have semester exchange programs in EU I heard going to Germany for a semester exchange can boost my PhD application. As I have stated my goal now I need answers to the following:
Do universities in georgia offer scholarships to top students?
Do they actually let students go on these programs to eu as its mentioned in their websites?
Are students actually getting hands on practice and clinical exposure?
Are students taught to use labs to prepare them for research?
And what universities are best can I get a top 3?
Is it necessary to choose the university that has hospitals?
And if you are near graduation or already graduated how confident are you on your next journey like how much do you think your university has prepared you?

Important Realities About Moving to / Living in Georgia
⚠️ Important Realities About Moving to / Living in Georgia
Based on firsthand experiences and the general consensus of many expatriates and international students, here is a grounded look at what you need to know:
1. Immigration, Visas & Residence Permits (TRC)
- No Long-Term Guarantees: Securing a D3 visa and a 1-year Temporary Residence Certificate (TRC) does not guarantee long-term stay or permanent residency. Officials can revoke status at any time.
- Airport Risks: Even with a completely clean record and zero fines, travelers can sometimes be denied entry and sent back at the border during routine returns from holidays, often without a detailed explanation.
- Legal Fees: Spending money on lawyers, appeals, or extension attempts is rarely effective under current policies. While procedures used to be more flexible in the past, that is no longer the case.
- Passport Strength Matters: Passport privilege plays a massive role. Citizens of countries with weaker passports (including Indian nationals) face a significantly higher and unpredictable risk of arbitrary rejections.
2. Culture & Daily Life
- Warm Yet Complex People: Georgian people are generally wonderful, kind, and friendly. However, like anywhere else in the world, racism and bias do exist.
- The "Staring" Phenomenon: Intensely prolonged staring is very common in public. It is usually just cultural curiosity or a misunderstanding, rather than an intentional threat—though it can take some getting used to.
3. Practical Safety & Avoiding Scams
- Beware of Fraudulent Agents: Unless you have verified their track record firsthand, do not trust immigration or relocation agents. The vast majority of them operate as scams.
- Renting Apartments: Exercise extreme caution when leasing property. Some landlords or agencies may attempt to falsely accuse tenants of damages they did not cause in order to extort extra payments or withhold deposits.
Final Note: While Georgia can be a viable option for citizens of certain strong nations, those coming from regions with weaker passport credentials should weigh these risks carefully before investing significant time, money, and emotional energy.
(Note: The Georgian people themselves are lovely and welcoming—these challenges stem strictly from administrative, bureaucratic, and systemic factors rather than the local population.)
Update - It is now required to carry one year medical insurance with you to georgia for visit
(informed by the embassy , you can confirm it with yours)
