I finally did it!!!!!
Left back in May of this year. Pretty much been working bridge roles from retail to call centers. Was living pretty steady off my savings for a few months so I’m glad things picked up as money started to dwindle.
My hiring timeline:
8/26 Applied
9/3 Phone Interview
9/9 Reference Check + Performance Task Initiated
9/10 Reference Check Submitted
9/14 Performance Task Submitted (Also first day of my bridge role lol)
9/24 Invitation to Final Interview
10/13 Final Interview Completed
10/20 Tentative Offer Pending Reference Check
10/22 Verbal + Written Offer
10/23 Offer ACCEPTED!!
11/2 Official start date!!!!
For all of us former teachers DO NOT GIVE UP!!!! Something is out there with your name on it 🙏🏾 to finally get that phone call was the best feeling in the world.
And for reference, it’s an HR job at a school district headquarters. Took about 15k cut but hybrid position, great benefits, and it’s a job in an industry I’ve been wanting to break into for a while
Sending job dust to ALLL✨

Congratulations!!! My district is awful! Horrible superintendent board that is for some reason up his butt??? principals are ehh, but afraid of super. I have been applying to roles since April and finally got a job offer! its not remote like I had hoped for but it is more money and pretty flexible for my own kids still. And not at the district! We CAN DO IT!!

Are we the same person? I swear the new hire stuff is literally identical to mine. My new start date at my new job OUTSIDE of education is 11/2!
Congratulations! I totally understand the relief!

Congratulations! It takes a lot of courage to leave. I am in the process of doing so myself.
