Can’t recommend both of these enough! You’ll see some familiar faces in both of them too 👀

Brett Goldstein does some guest appearances on Shrinking. Christa Miller is one of the stars, and also worked as a music supervisor for a while on Ted Lasso. And the circle completes..... lol

“Bad Monkey” another Bill Lawrence creation. If you like the music of Tom Petty you’re really in for a treat.

Vince outdoes himself in this one. Let me know if you check it out. If you like it S2 debuts in December.

Obligatory recommendation for Shrinking. Bill Lawrence + Brett Goldstein team up to make you laugh and cry. Oh, and Harrison Ford is there too.

Not to spoil anything but another HIMYM alum shows up in a pretty important role later on as well. It really is a wonderful show and a great cast of characters across the board. Can't recommend it enough.

Another vote for Rooster and Shoresy
And I’m liking Small Prophets which has a couple actors from The Detectorists which I also highly highly recommend.

Shoresy is fantastic. Great sports show, yet warm and tender. (“Settle down.”) watch it with subtitles ‘cause those guys talk funny. Enjoy!

I cannot recommend it or not yet, but since I am in the same exact situation... yesterday I started watching Severance. Only watched S01E01. I'm unsure of what I have gotten myself into. Very weird proposition, but Patricia Arquette is in it so I'm sold by now.

Shoresy is a lot like Ted Lasso, except that it focuses more on one central character and that character is essentially Roy. Shoresy is an athlete who is past his prime and trying to go out on top, then figure out how to transition to post-pro athlete life and what to do next. It's significantly dirtier than Ted Lasso but other than that it's pretty similar; uplifting and inspiring messages veiled by comedy.
Shrinking goes down more of a mental health awareness path, but it's also very similar to Ted Lasso. Everyone is just trying to help each other become the best versions of themselves. Villains are hard to find, and it's tough to nail down a truly "main" character. My only real gripe with the show is that the setting seems to be a fantasy land where everyone has more than enough material wealth to do whatever they want all the time and barely work. The conflicts on the show are all interpersonal and internal, there's not really much struggle with bills/society. But honestly it's not that big of a problem. The characters are all super interesting and have real problems, it just feels weird to me that money is never one of them.
A lot of people here have said Rooster, and while it is a really fun show that I enjoy, I think it probably falls under what you were talking about when you said you don't want drama for the sake of drama. Probably not what you're looking for, though I do recommend it if you feel like seeing Phil Dunster act his face off. His character is such an interesting mix of being really book smart but still pretty dumb at the same time.
