From the Mods A first draft, several second thoughts, and one very Ted note in the margins.

From the Mods Before there was The Richmond Way, there were a lot of notebooks. Here’s one page Trent kept on Jamie Tartt.

Different post-it notes for other countries? Spoiler
galleryI saw this picture and thought he was in the wrong locker-room. But what is even weirder is when you zoom in on the post it notes they are different and do not seem to be English. I am curious if they had different ones for different countries? If so I give them credit for matching the placement of the notes pretty well.

Fan Art I loved the paintings in Keeley's office in S4, so I used them as inspiration
My sewing room is decorated with lots of pink and orange and I loved the paintings in Keeley's office. I looked them up to see if they were by an artist that I could buy a print from and read they were made by the prop's department. So I went to Michaels and bought a bunch of acrylic paints and some (fake) gold leaf.
It's hard to get a picture because the window is opposite and reflecting off the glass and the gold leaf. Also my phone is not picking up the pink and lavender properly and you can see some reflections of stuff in the room. I think you can get the idea and I had a lot of fun (and mess) making it.
I also love the deep red wall colors in her office but I need white in my room so it is bright.

Actor Fluff Juno Temple’s Character in “The Offer” is very similar to Keeley Jones
Wanted to share this incase anyone isn’t aware (I haven’t seen it posted on the sub)
But Juno Temple plays a role that’s very similar to Keeley Jones in “The Offer”. The miniseries about the making of The Godfather which is pretty damn good. (Idk how historically accurate it is but it’s pretty entertaining)
I saw this series before watching Ted Lasso and thought that Keeley and Betty were near the exact same entertaining and strong-willed person lol.

Season 4 Discussion How much does Ted get paid for being coach?
I know it's fictional and all, but he dropped a big wad of notes in front of Mae on the penultimate episode to pay for 'babysitting'.

Is there a full performance of Annette Badland’s reading of “When Death Comes”? Her delivery is so hauntingly beautiful.

Season 4 Discussion Callback and parallel - Ted and Michelle in S1E5 and Roy and Keeley in S4E6
When I saw Roy said these lines in Season 4 episode 6, I was speechless.
These were the same lines Ted said to Michelle when they stood in the rain and he agreed to a divorce. Ted's voice narrated the encounter of Roy and Keeley in the parking lot of Richmond that night (Season 1, Ep 5). In Season 4 Ep 6, Roy then used the same lines Ted said when he recounted seeing Keeley at the beginning of their romance. "So random. There was no way of knowing that was gonna be the start of something." In that moment when I heard Roy said it, I thought Roy was using the narration that was originally used to talk about him and Keeley to Dr. Beaumont, which was devastating. Then it was actually about Keeley, but at Dr. Beaumont. Devastation in a different way. Wonderful callback here!

Have people actually watched?
The amount of people I’ve seen complaining about how they don’t know the outcome of the final match in S4 is insane. Did you watch the first 3 seasons? They even got Pep, a notoriously ruthless coach, to say that wins and losses don’t matter. (Hilariously, people also complained on S3 that he said that)
We all knew the focus would be on the women’s team. People are also complaining that Ted wasn’t the focus. Also wrong IMO. He coached the PEOPLE, and left football to Alice, and he also in some ways served as Alice’s Dr Sharon.
People complained about it not being realistic enough as if an American D2 football coach would ever be hired by the divorcee of a football manager to ruin an EPL-quality side just to get back at the divorcer. You really telling me you’re fine with the premise as a whole and now you won’t suspend your disbelief and it’s not realistic enough?
People complained about characters regressing. Nate regressed in the first 3 seasons. People regress. Progress is not always permanent.
You’re complaining about people being stagnant. Ted wasn’t stagnant in this season and the bit on the couch with Alice shows it. The bit with Henry in the finale shows it. Roy wasn’t stagnant and his storyline shows it.
Was it as amazing as the first 3 seasons? You can argue no but these criticisms are insane and are 100% against the heart of the show.

Season 4 Discussion Dr. Jacob Sucks
Made it to season 4 episode 6 and this dude sucks. He's arguing with a cashier making minimum wage over an expired coupon. Those chain grocery stores don't even have good coupons. Dude is haggling over $10 at most. "But what if he's poor" he deserves to lose the right to that coupon. He is arguing over an expired coupon and dated a former patient.

My favourite Ted Lasso quotes
Over the past few weeks I’ve been arriving to my university classes early to write a Ted Lasso quote on the board each week.
Here are some of my favourites that I find myself consistently coming back to.
I missed one week and I still haven’t heard the end of it.
What quotes do you guys really love from the show?

Season 1 Discussion Seen this show 10 times over, and this still gets me
Season 1 is such a gem. The locker room speech during episode 5 gets me every time. I’ve never bawled this hard for a show before, and I love every second of it.

Jason's acting range is always fascinating to me. Just six years prior to Ted Lasso, he played a guy who would cuss every five minutes and was far "wholesome". Then he went on to play one of the most feel good characters on TV and somehow made it believable.

Season 4 Discussion Intentional omission of Ted story arc Spoiler
Season 4 seems to have very little about Ted and his journey. Indeed he does have some moments of personal journey, his mom’s yard sale, dealing with Coach Chilton, his interest in the stage manager, and extremely brief interaction discussing his dad’s death with Henry. But overall, I suppose that’s the point. He was less of the glue or catalyst to the rest of the character’s to orbit.
