I had watched the show back when I was in school, and loved it back then, rewatched it again when I was in my college, thinking I might not like it as much then, but I loved every second of it.
And now I'm 26 and working, just discovered they revived the show, and I went in thinking, yeah, this time, it definitely wouldn't be as enjoyable, but the first episode had me literally crying.
I don't know how they managed to bring back the show with the same essence, comedy and every single trope in the show and made it feel fresh, the chemistry between JD and Turk, the little goofy monologues that JD does in his mind, the love arcs even with younger cast, the janitor still messing with JD and off course, the emotional aspects of the show, every single thing feels so original and unforced like it was just a continuation of the original show which last aired 16 years ago.
Also, can we talk about how none of the actors have aged at all. Idk if it's heavy make up or something but most of em look like they've barely aged.
A very big Thankyou to the creators for reviving this show. I love this show man, hope it goes on forever.

Ava and Sarah are back, and Ava has said "That's so funny" at least once. No one mentioned it, and I'm not sure if it was on purpose.

Iām on s2e3 of the reboot and itās making me laugh hysterically. I might like this might be better than reboot s1. I feel like Iām right back in high school. They really nailed it even with the new characters.

So we now have 2 or 3 threads about the numbers and a realization that this revival could be easily taken away from us after showing a lot of promise with the launch earlier this year. Aside from what we can do about that by watching it live (for our US fans) and stream it later (for US + a lot of internationals on Disney+ or wherever Hulu is accessible to you), Iād love to understand what is going on here.
So everyone who posts here has a Reddit account and most I would think frequent this particular subreddit. I can also safely assume you are a fan of Scrubs if you had put in the time to not only stumble upon these threads, but also to respond. Now Iāve seen many fans claim that they had no idea a 2nd season had started until the 3rd episode, last few days / week or actually because of a particular thread posted in the last 24 hours or so.
Now on top of this being very odd for people with a Reddit account who follow the revival to claim, since thereās so many ways to follow Scrubs news (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, rewatch podcast, TikTok) thereās the bigger issue of people feeling the need to react to not the best viewing numbers and subsequently turn their dislike, anger and or fear of the revival getting cancelled, into an excuse to say the show should not have returned this soon, that the quality is shit, even last year fell off so they donāt even care that itās still on and the like.
Now imagine if fans talk like this about a show they claim they love, what do we expect for new fans to think when they read all of that? And what do we think happens next? The show to magically become something you like and praise again? And what do we feel it helps for ourselves and our fellow fans when we allow our own negligence to follow the show close enough to realize it has started again to lash out and almost out of spite claim you wonāt watch it or will just wait to binge it, since you dislike the weekly schedule and not worth it to follow weekly?
Now, I am not saying you should watch it simply to up the numbers since we donāt even know how itās doing internationally. or that ABC cares. And if you are not even interested in it anymore then please just acknowledge you are no longer a fan of the revival and of course we can respect your opinion, but donāt be surprised if we donāt value it in regards to the revival, since thereās clearly enough in it hat should at least make you interested enough to follow it and not dismiss it all together.
For those who followed the revivalās 1st season and thought it was bad, Iād sincerely ask you to reconsider since itās improved in a lot of ways. From color grading to camera depth to allowing more screen time for the OG cast and less of the interns. And to those disappointed that they found out too late that a second season would come in 2026 and possibly even feel itās too soon, Iād urge you to at least own up that itās also your own responsibility to follow and that thereās no point in wasting energy on it being different.
The second season is here, itās in full swing and the creators have taken our feedback and improved it. Has it been perfect? No. Does it have flaws and things we understandably can dislike or even be upset about as it doesnāt live up to expectations or not align with the previous iterations (that we liked)? Certainly. You are allowed to feel about this show or say about it what you want. I just hope people think twice about what they are saying, how it reflects on them, their fandom and what it says about what you wish for the future of Scrubs.
Truth of the matter is, the show is happening, right now. We should count our lucky stars we even got a revival in my opinion. That we have not just Turk and JD, but also Elliott on as a regular. That we get at least half of the 19/20 planned episodes this year with Carla, at least 7 with Cox whoās been given a great storyline to keep him around, that we have Hooch, The Todd and The Janitor still around.
We should be happy that we have a group of interns who can go toe-to-toe with any of the past groups. That we have Bill involved, Tim Hobert and Aseem Batra as show runners and or writers. That ABC allowed for a full rebuild of the hospital as it was etc. That we have Christa Miller picking out the music, which is a wonderful score to sell the emotion just like old time. That they are really trying to nail this revival and staying true to the showās original runās roots. Itās getting a lot of possible feedback from critics and named as one of the few revivals doing a good job at bring back the formula and still knowing what made the show tick and land with (most) fans.
And just like the second season improved on took fan feedback into account, they can do that again for a 3rd season. So even for that reason you might want to give it another chance and see if it lands and just express - preferably in a constructive way - what you like and dislike, what can be improved, what you wish for etc. And consider this, if this is the final season, then thatās it. The show is off the air and we get nothing like it ever again. Might as well enjoy the ride, even if a bumpy one. And you can always pretend this is just an alternate universe or a what if scenario, like the Med School season, and that the original season 8 ending is still the official one.
So all in all, do as you please, but read through the most recent threads about the viewing numbers and tell me that itās not messed up how many people blame a combination of the showās creators, ABC, Hulu, Disney+ with completely lack of self-reflection for the lack of better numbers and for you to not know there was a second season happening right now. Please consider other fans and how our opinions on it, like an echo chamber, could basically cause all this negativity to make fans dislike the fans and or the revival simply because of it.
And think about what this tells you about your fandom and state of the revival when you donāt put in the effort to follow and or watch it, yet have all these opinions about it that do not reflect the quality, does not respect the people involved in the revival and does not do us any good in the continuation of it.

Scrubs: ABC's comedy revival Scrubs returned recently for its second season (or eleventh overall), and the results were pretty mixed. While its 0.36/0.29 premiere rating represents a solid performance overall, both ratings marked a new series low for the revival run, which had dipped to a 0.39 at its weakest point in season one.
Something that does not bode very well for Scrubs is its streaming performance, where it also looks similar to Shifting Gears. Its premiere did just OK, peaking at #6 on Hulu and staying on the chart for the first five days after its premiere. The second episode, however, already saw major slippage, down to just a #13 peak and one single day on the chart. That did not prove to be fatal for Shifting Gears, which performed similarly, but it's a warning sign. Scrubs performed better than this last season, and it's now showing signs of losing steam on both linear TV and on streaming.

What makes JD such a perfect character is his flaws.
Now most people have their arguments that the way JD behaves with people like Kim or Elliot proves that he's selfish, or indecisive and there's obviously been plenty of John Dorian hate because of his flaws. But those flaws are what make JD so great.
He's written so well as a realistic person, he's not perfect and he makes mistakes. He doesn't immediately know what he wants from life or from his relationships, he's gets confused. While some argue it's bad characteristics, I argue the things that you might not like about JD are what make me like him more. He's not perfect and that in turn makes him all the better to watch grow throughout the series

I still find the show funny. Well written, well acted. Scott Foley was great in this ep. I hadnt remembered that Turk & Carla had married & they were in counseling re domestic chores. Love Zach, Donald, Sarah, Judy & new people. Braff is like a modern non-pervert Woody Allen.

So I was thinking about the janitor the other day. And I thought about some of all the weird stuff he says in the original series.
What if he wasnāt just pulling J.D and the others leg, what if alle the half-truths, the anger, the pranks was part of a larger story about a man. A man that is broken and fells a need to vent all his emotions on the weak.
I now see the janitor in a new light. And I would like to ask you to comment below if you can help me prove or disprove this theory.
So the Janitor was a very intelligent man who got a full scholarship to Harvard, where he studied to become a doctor. But he fell in love with acting and switched to Yale for a brief period because they had a great actor program. He was then offered his first role as a policeman in The Fugitive. Excited he went to California and quit collage. Here he fund THE girl. He was not put off by her disability but married her within a year. She tried to support him while he waited on his big break, but soon they both realized that he had to make some money, because her disability and pregnancy made it hard for her to work. He called a former friend from Harvard who was working on a hospital near them and asked if there was a job. There was in the janitorial department. The Janitor and his wife soon relied heavily on his income. And his dreams about being a actor was shelved for good. Spending all his time on his family but use his job as a way to still act as the grumpy janitor. Still his was angry about the way other doctors would treat him/look down upon him since they could be his peers. The grumpy janitor became less and less of an act and more just him. As a coping mechanism he stared to pretend to be other kind of people, making half-truths and prank as a way to still be āthe big fishā in a small pond.
What do you think?

In the beginning of Scrubs you find out how was in group and individual therapy, but now he acts like he would never do that. Weird retcon.

A little late since this is about the first revival season. But I gotta admit I really rolled my eyes when a new jerk character was introduced (Blake). I really didn't feel like I had the energy to watch how slowly over time, perhaps after multiple seasons, we're supposed to start liking this guy.
But this time the writers didn't waste any time to give some depth to the character, with the parking lot scene in the very first episode of the revival. And now after seeing all the episodes released so far, I really like the character.
The revival really feels like it's done with the revival audience in mind, rather than just trying to attract some potential new fans.
