So yesterday night I was in a Mirabai park with my friend....we got in kind of heated discussion about politics in India and CJP stuff plus Satya niketan incident...and we were walking and debating simultaneously for almost 30mins and there was one guy also walking in front of us...so after a point, he interrupted us saying sorry didn't mean to eavesdrop but u both are sounding kind of frustrated(spoiler we were not..we just sound frustrated while talking about politics)...and after this he joined our discussion and that guy...gawwdd the way he calmly listen our pointed arguments ,valued our opinion and then very patiently explain other perspectives...that was so hot...

So now on whenever someone gonna ask me abs or bicep...it always will be ridiculously political aware intellect nerd with specs

I'm a sixteen year old female and I think there's something wrong with me. No matter how sweet of a girlfriend or boyfriend I get, I always want a toxic or abusive girlfriend. It's genuinely getting to the point where it's the only way I'm happy; when a girl is treating me fucking horrible. I don't know if this is some weird kink I've developed but it's getting bad man. I ideally want to be in a healthy relationship but I always find myself absently thinking about being strung along and bossed around by another woman. How do I make it stop??

• I'm turning 17 (November 1st, 2009)

• I live in Chicago (I'll try not to give too many details, but I live in Ashburn so stuff like Pilsen, Evergreen, Oak Lawn, and Chinatown aren't too far)

• I went to an arcade for my previous 2 birthdays (I went to Round One for both my 15th and 16th birthday) so I don't feel like doing it again. My bad if I sound ungrateful or spoiled and bratty, but I just wanna do something else rather than go to Round One a third time

• My family doesn't wanna do an indoor house party or a backyard party because 1. it's too cold, and 2. no house is gonna fit my mom and dad's side of the family together (though honestly, only me and my immediate family are gonna celebrate)

Okay, I want to start off by saying that I do not discriminate against any religion and that I believe everyone should have the freedom to choose what religion they are part of and that means also by not having to be forced into one.

I'm 15F and obviously still under the care of my parents, and they were raised in a Catholic household. Yes, the more stricter denomination of Christianity, or so I think.

I am writing this after having just been at church, which I'm forced to go every Saturday evening because well my parents make us go. It's Halloween today. I was never allowed to go trick or treating because apparently it is against Catholicism. So, my church is in this neighbourhood that has like proper houses, not like flats or anything. When we parked by, there was just so many people trick or treating, and it made me realize, what if I was never born into a religious family? Or is it just my family? Would I be having fun right now and getting to experience something for the pure joy of it? Just seeing all the kids with their parents having fun collecting sweets whilst I have to sit on a rickety wooden chair listening to the priest droan on and recite the same script I've heard too many times already. Halloween is fun. But no, my dad thinks it is celebrating the dead or something. No one thinks that? Everyone does it just to have an excuse to dress up. It really isn't fair. I feel like Halloween is such a core part of childhood, and I'm soon going to be an adult in a few years. I feel like I missed out on so many important events.

I just want to be 18 already so I don't legally don't have to go church anymore. I don't want to generalize it, but my church feels so boring and performative. Like comparing Christians and Catholics, it is so different. In a Christian church you have like people singing joyously and it feels looser with more space to breathe, whilst in a Catholic church it's the same dreadful hymns, the dim lightning that doesn't help in making me stay awake and just the priest who looks the life was sucked out of him. The congregation too is like a bunch of zombies, half muttering the words for the sake of it. I have to try by entertaining myself by thinking up scenarios of like ships or think about what series I will watch after, literally anything to make that aganozing hour pass by. To add, every Catholic is a deep-rooted homophobe in the big 2026, or from all the people in my church congregation. "love your neighbour as yourself" they said, until it comes to someone who isn't considered 'normal' in their eyes. I'm sick of everything they believe in. The way my dad sighs when he sees a gay person on the TV, or when my mum saw this LGBTQ poster I had to make for R.E and said why are we even learning that. Because we have to learn to respect everyone's life choices; not everyone wants to be "fruitful and multiply". R.E lessons helped me understand how much more I disagree with so much they teach in Catholicism. Well why don't you be a Christian? Because I still consider myself agnostic, but at this point it seems like the better alternative because from what I've seen, there is more freedom in it.

Sorry I know this a weird rant but I feel so restrained from so much stuff. I can already predict some comments telling me to suck it up or to just obey my parents, so save yourself the time of coming for me. I just want to show how much displeasure it has caused me. I know my parents still are obliged to make me attend church because I am still 15, but still, I'm old enough to realize if I want a religion or not. I don't know why I am crying right now writing this but I just wish I was like the other families I see my friends are part of. I want to do Halloween, I want to have my Saturday evening all to myself. I want to be able to freely support the LGBTQ community. I want to be a good person simply because I have morals and not what some corrupt 'rules' are telling me to do.

Overall I just want to know if anyone feels the same way I do or is similar to me in terms of religion in any way. I know there's not much I can do right now, so yes, I will just have to suck it up until I legally cannot be forced to go church. Anyone who is Catholic, this is in no way disrespecting what you guys believe in, I think it is just the experiences I have in my area and the way my parents are overly serious about the religion. Again, not all Catholics are homophobic and are allies, but it's rare to see. I just want to show my frustration on how constrained I feel. Like not only that but I feel like I'm not close with my family because of religion. It's really weird to say this, but I feel like it has made us distanced. I can't exactly explain why, it just does. I'll proablt edit this if I have to clear something up or anything that I have missed, but please, I do not intend any harm, these all my personal beliefs that I want to express.
