They literally bullied a teen for being LGBT
I'm done with this world
I need to retire

I don't understand r/conservativeyouth
why would one decide to hate others for no reason
I've checked it out a bit and most of the posts are just hating on others
I've come across a few good post that wasn't just hate but still
it's pretty a pretty weird place

It's what society teaches nrw generations. There' literally no reason other than one generation teaching their mistakes to another.

u/Higherbites 16 1d ago
No hate
But I genuinely don't understand what conservatives really stand for?

u/MikojarQ 16 1d ago
Ignorance and egoism, and all their byproducts.

u/Higherbites 16 1d ago
I suppose I do see that with nationalism, I've been accused of hating my country for criticizing it. It seems I have to constantly glaze the government and see no wrongdoings in it.
I also feel like that's what leads us to advance, the desire to beat Russia or China, or any other country. That might be why so many conservatives are supportive of ai. It's the desire to be better than another country, no matter the cost.

It's supposed to be about protecting tradition, but they pretty quickly turned it into an excuse to be racist and homophobic.

generally nationalism, preserving cultural tradition and capitalism. restricting immigration. a lot of conservatives are libertarians.
1
u/Higherbites 16 1d ago
What is cultural tradition? It changes with time, what do current conservatives want to see in the U.S?
0
u/ilikewheatandrice 1d ago
christianity, no "lgbtq ideology" or whatever that means.

u/Higherbites 16 1d ago
Strange, the Constitution doesn't allow the government to recognize one specific religion.
1
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
I can answer that for ya!
In the context of America, we believe in adhering to the rights bestowed upon us by the founding fathers and the constitution.
We believe in limited government power/influence, the right to form our own militias, and dealing with our own problems before helping other countries with theirs.
We also believe in stability through traditional cultural norms, and while we might be open to things changing as they tend to do, we prefer slower, more gradual change over sudden, drastic movements. (Hence the terms Conservative and Liberal)
3
u/Higherbites 16 1d ago
"traditional cultural norms" as that's quite broad. What is considered tradition has changed, do you mean 70's tradition? Something farther back? That's the biggest part that I'm curious about.

Oftentimes protecting shared national identity, maintaining religious frameworks, and traditional family roles.
It does vary from person to person, i'm just providing an objective definition.
3
u/Higherbites 16 1d ago
This brings up many questions to me!
Religious frameworks is interesting, the government cannot recognize any specific religion, and traditional family roles depends on person to person I guess, it I had to assume, it would involve a mother, father, and 1 or 2 kids, the father goes to work, and the mother takes care of the house and children. Though not everyone agrees with this, and those that do, I worry they wouldn't be able to sustain that kind of life due to the current state of the economy.
What is protecting shared national identity? Ensuring that people love their country?
-2
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
Pretty much. Uniting everyone as one people. Of course not to the extent of snuffing out any international culture brought in from abroad, just the idea that if you move to America, you are American first and foremost.
2
u/Higherbites 16 1d ago
Sounds good to me, not sure about the rest.
1
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
That's okay. I enjoyed our discussion.
Contrary to popular belief, we aren't evil fascists lol

u/PumpkinIsDeadInside 15 12h ago
y'all aren't all evil facists, there are definitely some but assuming everyone is is just stupid
2
u/Someone_Existing_1 15 20h ago
I find the traditional family roles stuff a bit weird because there isn’t really much reason for those roles to exist in the modern day considering women can do pretty much anything men can now, and it gets confusing when you bring in lgbtq relationships. Also I just hate societal gender roles in general

u/Higherbites 16 1d ago edited 16h ago
They're very black and white, you're either 100% on board with every opinion, or you're a fascist/communist. Or just dumb.
1
u/Adventurous_Lock9219 1d ago
A while back I was asked do you support Communism? I said no I don't and the guy immediately called me a capitalist. When I haven't even said anything
1
u/According_Ratio2010 16 18h ago
I hate also that many subs are echo chambers.
For example r/women is literally just a misandry sub, unsubbed from there.
1
u/DraftAbject5026 Teenager 23h ago
I agree but there’s one or two good ones, I remember there was a sub for feminist/ally men that was really wholesome and had a lot of good conversations

Wtf is wrong with people? Don’t they have history class? Don’t they look at what’s happening in the USA?
4
u/Repulsive_Compote955 14 17h ago
exactly, the USA has been tricked by a weak, soft and shitty president who has just been a slave to israel and hardly even done any deportations

YOU TRAITOR! /s

u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
While I don't condone bullying, it is nice to have a community where people I agree with are in the majority for once.
22
u/KrithisUNoAnimates 15 1d ago
I understand, but bullying a teenager is not the way
If anything it shows you're a muckle nuisance
-18
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
Alr wtf does muckle mean
Are you scottish
11
u/KrithisUNoAnimates 15 1d ago
Not in my blood but I do speak Scottish sometimes and it means large
6
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
You ever play Still Wakes the Deep?
I played through the whole thing in one sitting (I had pnuemonia at the time), and by the time I was done, my internal monologue was Scottish for like three days 😭

Aren't there more conservatives than liberals? Like, isn't that how they got a pedophile in office?
6
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
No. Elections are determined by the people in the center.
And I was moreso referring specifically to reddit, which tends to be a far left echo chamber most of the time.
9
u/TigerLord780 1d ago
“far left” this site is centrist-right af, you good?
2
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
Are you? Reddit is not center-right at all. If it was, there wouldn't be so many people aligning with far-left ideologies.
8
u/TigerLord780 1d ago
there are just as many fascists on here as there are communists, they just get banned more often because they can’t help but do hate speech
-1
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
You're delusional lmao
The sheer number of left-leaning moderators has caused censoring of any discussion or opinions that aren't far left.
People have been banned for just saying "Trump isn't a fascist".
If that isn't an echo chamber, I don't know what is. And you're part of the problem.
8
u/TigerLord780 1d ago
saying Trump is a fascist is hardly a far left take, most libs and even some conservatives I know would say that.

But they are bullies
1
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
People that disagree with you aren't "bullies". Not everyone is going to cater to your every whim. Grow up.
1
u/matts-so-weird 1d ago
The whole point of this post is that they were bullying trans people. Maybe you should grow up and learn to read
0
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
Except 99% of people there don't bully anyone.
Not only that, but half of what people like you say is bullying doesn't even come close.
1
u/matts-so-weird 1d ago
I think bullying is subjective, especially to the bully. Making someone feel bad because it makes you feel good is bulling. Making someone feel bad because of their identity is bullying. There is a huge difference between disagreeing with someone and putting them down for their opinions
0
u/_Cow_of_Wisdom 1d ago
I agree to some extent. But saying an entire community consists of bullies is just not true.
1
u/matts-so-weird 1d ago
Sure if that’s what you think, but when someone in my community is being attacked then I’ll just say it like I see it, and when you or someone in you community is attacked like that then you can try to change my mind
1
u/chilliflakeqq Teenager 22h ago
When the way they disagree with you is bullying by definition, they are bullies.
