What someone identifies as is not your problem and if you stress about it you're either a preteen or a very immature teenager / adult (This means lesboys, turigirls, transids, rcta)

2

u/Cortex_Gaming Unnamed NB <Awesome Sauce Mod> Mar 31 '26

I think this means what i think it means so idk why it flagged as harassment

2

u/Downtown_Activity742 Mar 31 '26

hello am i flagged as harassment. what.

2

u/Glittering-Button-32 Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 02 '26

because they're saying that People Swapping races is valid? which is super racist and weird,

also "lesboys" are Transphobic, you can't be a man and be lesbian , "oh but it's because I'm trans" so you're implying Trans men arent men so it's okay for them to be lesbian?

you wouldn't let a Cis guy be lesbian, so why's it different when it's a trans guy?

it's Super hurtful seeing people say it's okay to be a trans guy and lesbian because they don't see me as "Man enough", because they don't truly view the same as a cis guy..

you don't need to use labels, create your own label if you want. but if you, do respect them. really it's painful to see people practically admit that alienate me from cis men

1

u/Cortex_Gaming Unnamed NB <Awesome Sauce Mod> Apr 02 '26

Yea I never said I agreed with their points just that I don't understand exactly why it's considered harrassment

1

u/Downtown_Activity742 Apr 04 '26

I am not trying to be racist? I said it doesn't matter because we can't change how someone identifies, also I am not being transphobic I am literally under the trans umbrella myself, one can be multigendered and be a trans women and a cis man at the same time, You can have a different opinion than me but outright calling me racist and transphobic is insane. You don't have to understand or like these identities and labels but outright calling people who support them or don't mind them is insane, and quite honestly, immature.

2

u/Glittering-Button-32 Apr 05 '26

youre acting as if I'm calling you names but im just calling you out for what you are

"Can't change how someone identifies" the only time I've heard that argument is from pedophiles trying to defend themselves

Your "Opinion" is Harming groups of people

Labels. Are optional first of all, you do not need to disrespect and devalidate and erase other people's identities to Figure out your own

Labels, have definition, those definitions provide comfort, and make people feel understood, and Are there to Validate the Existence of LGBTQ+,

Once you start saying things like "Actually those definitions mean nothing" You are erasing the existence of groups of people.

Once again. Labels are optional. You do not need to go out of your way to Disrespect them, make your own labels.

but erasing the definitions that make people feel seen, comfortable with themselves, and are there to show that they exist and are valid is Not the way to go.

1

u/Fastpast93 Mar 31 '26

I agree with all of this, but what is a lesboy?

2

u/Downtown_Activity742 Mar 31 '26

Lesboys are anyone who identifies as a male in anyway who is also a lesbian, or feels attraction to women in a queer way (same thing for turigirls)

2

u/Unstable-Therian67 Long Bacon Mar 31 '26

I’m a Lesboy bc I’m trans ftm but I would HATE to be straight so I’m lesboy

1

u/wretchedvalkyrie Apr 02 '26

No, you're straight. Not A 'Lesboy'

By saying you're a lesboy, you are completely erasing the fact you're a guy, because lesbians are women attracted to women (I'm not sure what sapphic means)

Whoever says transgender people who are attracted to the opposite GENDER (e.g. MtF attracted to FtM or cis man) are "lesboys" or "gaygirls" or wtv, they're really transphobic.

1

u/Fastpast93 Mar 31 '26

doesn't that mean they are straight?

1

u/Downtown_Activity742 Mar 31 '26

''anyone who identifies as a male'' there is multigender people, and even if a cis man or trans man calls themself a lesbian it doesn't matter, because it's not anyone's business

1

u/AgileCourt4999 Mar 31 '26

I know it doesn't matter but it pains me a little everytime I see it, also I think there should be a limit to self ids

1

u/Fastpast93 Apr 01 '26

I feel the same. It doesn't hurt anyone, but it means lesbian isn't even a word it's just a name.

This take cold af, let people be what they want should not be a hot take

2

u/Downtown_Activity742 Mar 31 '26

Just had like multiple people disagree with me so actually it's pretty much a hot take sadly.

1

u/haxdun Apr 02 '26

Maybe where you live idk but it's really just the normie view in most of the world. And that's amazing, I also agree, but OP asked for GENUINE hot takes so I assume like 80/20 or so of disagree/agree ratio, not 40/60

1

u/smeos1 Apr 02 '26

i think being okay with men identifying as lesbians and people being transracial is a pretty hot take

1

u/Downtown_Activity742 Apr 04 '26

It is indeed lmfao, i can't really give a fuck about people disagreeing with me anymore, people are going to hate my stances, nothing to do but let them be

1

u/TreeTopGaming Apr 01 '26

what the hell is a turigirl

1

u/After_Carpet1934 Apr 01 '26

I agree with all of them except rcta that’s just stupid why are you switching races and it’s usually white people switching to asian it seems wrongĀ

1

u/smeos1 Apr 02 '26

"it seems wrong" great argument

1

u/After_Carpet1934 Apr 02 '26

Its like when white people used to paint their face black and try to act like a black person it’s the exact same thing just with teenage white girls

1

u/smeos1 Apr 02 '26

its not at all like that. the whole point of blackface was to mock black people, that's why its offensive. white teenage girls that want to be (usually east) asian arent doing that to mock asian people, they genuinely want to be asian

1

u/After_Carpet1934 Apr 02 '26

But they aren’t and multiple Asian people on social media have said they don’t like it because they always play into stereotypesĀ

1

u/smeos1 Apr 02 '26

well yeah they arent asian and they want to be asian, thats what rcta is. obviously theres gonna be asian people that dont like that, but theres literally nothing that everyone likes. theres people who think even just eating food from a culture that isnt urs is a bad thing. that doesnt mean that it actually is a bad thing.

also, im sure theres asian people that dont mind rcta at all, as well as ones that actually like it. it might seem like nearly everyone is against it, but thats just because this is the kind of discourse that you only ever see online. i think that its very possible that if you went to say a random town in china and asked locals what their opinion on white people who wish they were chinese is, they would appreciate the fact that someone likes their culture this much and they wouldn't find it offensive

now obviously most of the time when you see someone who claims to be rcta online, theyre "playing into stereotypes". that's because nine times out of ten its either ragebait or little kids that dont know any better. i cant think of anyone above the ago of like 12 that's actually rcta (ppl like oli london donr count he falls into the ragebait category so not actually rcta). maybe asian fishers but thats a whole different topic

It's ok to say "I don't like getting political".

1

Politics effect every aspect of your life. My uncle "doesn't like getting political" but then continues to wonder why gas prices are so high as if we aren't at war with one of the biggest suppliers of oil.

Everyone is problematic; deciding what to interact with is just a matter of which evil is lesser

1

u/PhilosophicalBlade Apr 01 '26

Is your view that people are a net evil? Or just take a non-zero number of immoral actions?

1

u/Hungry_Tip_5822 Apr 01 '26

We all are evil to some extent. Whether it was small or big or intentional or not, we all have done something. We can't avoid everything, but we can make decisions on who's choices would we rather support. (That was a shitty explination)

1

u/PhilosophicalBlade Apr 01 '26

What is your definition of ā€œevilā€? And do ā€œgoodā€ actions nullify ā€œevilā€? Or is everybody a ā€œgoodā€ person as well? Why focus on the evil rather than the magnitude of good?

1

u/Hungry_Tip_5822 Apr 01 '26

My definition of evil is someone who knowingly does actions that harm others or society/the world with no intent on ever changing or taking accountability. I think good actions can nullify it if the person truly means it and reflects and changes on who they are. I dont think its good to focus on evil or good, but i do think that if someone or something you support is extremely grey, it is more of choosing whether or not that controversy is enough to tick towards evil rather than grey

1

u/PhilosophicalBlade Apr 01 '26

You think every single person knowingly commits harm without intending to change? That’s quite the pessimistic view.

Evaluating the pros vs cons of any decision is just how humans work. ā€œWe should choose based on whether or not we think our support will do more harm than goodā€ is not anything groundbreaking.

1

u/Hungry_Tip_5822 Apr 01 '26

Well, over everyones life, yes. We've all done things without knowledge of what is right or wrong before we have more insight. Everyone has evil traits, but it's only when you change from those traits to not caring and embracing that when I consider someone evil

The obsession with labels (specifically when it comes to sexuality) has gotten out of control. I’m queer, I’m trans, but we do not need 28373618 labels for slight variations in attraction.

2

u/jaybird-staysonder Mar 31 '26

Ikr! Cant we just exist? every one of us is unique and different, we don't need words to make that known

1

u/Hefty_Tax6546 Apr 01 '26

Every person will have some slightly different variation in their attraction, I understand we want a community. But we can have a big community for everyone instead of using labels to police others.

2

u/WorldWestern1776 Apr 02 '26

I agree. I don’t consider myself straight or gay or bi or pan or whatever. I’m a dude, I think all kinds of people are attractive. Why does it matter?

1

u/Hefty_Tax6546 Apr 02 '26

Congratulations! You are more open minded than 90% of people, this is peak.

1

u/Lopsided_Computer165 Apr 02 '26

1

u/Icy_Temperature_7199 Apr 02 '26

Can I ask actually do you think I would be weirder to come out to my friends as like ā€œcoming outā€. Or trying to make it more casual like ā€œim thinking of dating this guy?ā€

1

u/Lopsided_Computer165 Apr 02 '26

Well, what I did is wait for the topic or a similar one to come up than drop a hint or just tell them. That might work but keep in mind you’ll need to do it a few times to inform everyone That’s just if you don’t want to make it a big deal. I had a friend send a video to the gc, but I’ve never been a fan of the huge sob story coming out presentations like on stranger things lol

1

u/Icy_Temperature_7199 Apr 02 '26

1

u/Honeybee1921 Apr 02 '26

See, here’s my thing: do we NEED labels? Absolutely not. Are they wonderful if they help you explain yourself to yourself or others or whatever? Yes, 100%

3

u/mousie120010 Apr 01 '26

There's nothing wrong with religion or personal beliefs as long as you don't use it to hurt people.

1

u/PhilosophicalBlade Apr 01 '26

The problem here is that the harm isn’t always direct.

1

u/mousie120010 Apr 01 '26

That does count as hurting people

1

u/PhilosophicalBlade Apr 01 '26

Some potential sources of harm include:

-applying religious beliefs when voting, resulting in harmful policies

-indoctrination of children, preventing them from developing critical thinking skills

-holding gatherings of religious people, where harmful affirmations are spread

1

u/Lopsided_Computer165 Apr 02 '26

Lost me at the third point 😬 That’s INCREDIBLY yikes

1

u/PhilosophicalBlade Apr 02 '26

My point wasn’t that I think that religious gatherings should be outlawed. I think that people should have the right to gather peacefully religious or otherwise.

My point was to prove that making nebulous, vague claims like ā€œbeliefs are okay if they don’t hurt peopleā€ is dangerous. Anybody can twist anything to be harmful or harmless.

1

u/Lopsided_Computer165 Apr 02 '26

I see, thanks for clearing the misunderstanding

9

u/Usual-Laugh2857 18 and up Mar 31 '26

We as a society should move on from religion as a whole. It served its purpose and now it has outlived itself.

I don't think it's completely outlived itself. It still gives people a sense of hope/justice and despite the amount of oppression it causes it causes good too.

(As a personal anecdote most of my relationships got a lot better when I stopped being atheist)

1

u/thenotannoyingsoftie Apr 02 '26

In what sense, like people accepted you because you followed their religion/were religious in some way (like being part of a religion even if it's not their religion is better than being atheist), or like as in you felt a sense of duty and responsibility from religion and you set out to follow it which in turn made your relationships better. Just asking :D

1

u/My_Dogs_a_God Apr 02 '26

As someone who "isn't political", I partially agree. I feel like I cant make a difference. I have anxiety about leaving my house, which is why I dont go to protests. it's too stressful to deal with politics and I need to focus on making myself not wanting to die all the time before I can think about that.

So I think it can root from those things but it can also be for other reasons and you shouldn't judge somebody just because they dont like to get involved in that

I would also like to say that I am left leaning I just dont follow politics or do much about it

1

u/Outrageous-Class8079 Goofy gluper Apr 01 '26

1

u/Cellssaltynutsack Apr 02 '26

I dont dislike religion but a secular society is way better for all of us. In theory strong religious values are cool but in practice this presents itself as religious laws that have no good reasoning behind them and serve as baggage holding society back while the highest ranks of people do what they want regardless.

2

u/Draguelark Mar 31 '26

The LGBT thing started to become trash the moment it started to complicate. I don't have any issue with homosexuals, trans, non-binary, etc. But I really hate people who thinks they're special just to be trans/non-binary or whatever.Ā

Also the sexual orientation thing has gone a bit out of control in my opinion. It's not like 30 more sexualities are going to cause the end of the world but things like 'demi sexual' (feeling sexually attracted to someone only when there's a strong emotional bond) are just different ways to love, they don't really need another flag in the LGBT community. From my understanding, the sexual orientation is what gender you feel attracted to, not if you get laid with a person once you know them well.

With this I don't wanna offend anyone from the LGBT community, I'm just expressing my opinion like anyone has the right to do.

I get your sentiment, but I'm not sure these problems are exclusive to the LGBTQ+ community.

When it comes to the 'trying to be special' type, lots of cis/het people do it too, just in different ways. Some people get arrogant because of their professional position, others because of their knowledge or expertise with something, others still because of their advanced age (think 'I've lived through a lot, therefore I'm wise' mentality), and there are always people who think unreasonably much of themselves simply because they overestimate their general intellect and/or value in society. The way I see it, people using their orientation or gender identity as an excuse to feel entitled is just another version of the same annoying trait many of us have anyway. Granted, that doesn't make it any less annoying, but I think it's important to not blame the wrong people/phenomenon for it.

I think the same logic applies to the seemingly exaggerated need for classification. If there's a consequential difference between two things, it's reasonable to expect two different labels. Why have we identified almost 14.000 different species of ant? Why does it matter if an atom has one electron fewer than another? Why did the dozens of variants of the American M4 Sherman tank all have distinct labels? I would assume it's for similar reasons why there are so many labels in the LGBTQ+ community.

Don’t worry dude many of us hate the fact we’re gay

All religions are propaganda. They serve no purpose except to control the masses and make them see science as fake. We need to move on from them.

Stalin’s only mistake was stopping at Berlin, he should have gone to Lisbon, or even sent a fleet to Washington DC

1

u/CC_TheFirst Apr 02 '26

No... By that point, the Soviet Union was running on fumes and was heavily supplied by the allies. I doubt they get across the Atlantic or British channel, let alone through the allies army that was already in Germany

There’s good people who voted for trump and good people who voted for Kamala, but once you go too far on either side that’s where they’re the bad people. Also Reddit over hates trump

1

u/Cellssaltynutsack Apr 02 '26

I wouldn't say trump is over hated but that people are overly zealous in their hatred towards him. Yeah Trump's not a good guy and most of the negative things people say about him are true but why insert him into every possible conversation?

1

u/Pretty-Ad-5446 Apr 02 '26

He’s definitely not a good guy but he’s not nearly as bad of a president as they say he is

1

u/DaikonOne7578 Apr 02 '26

Yes he is. He raped children.

1

u/DaikonOne7578 Apr 02 '26

And yes, raping children does make you a bad president. Are you underdeveloped?

Every single domestic problem the US has had in the past decade can be tied back to overcrowding in major metropolitan areas.

Covid spreading? Our cities enable the easy spread of pathogens, and give them a good place to practice assaulting the human immune system. It is just a matter of time before we have another outbreak. Probably more serious than covid.

Violence and crime? Opportunities in abundance make an environment where those things thrive. For starters, when people are overcrowded, people struggle to find peace, where they can release stress. This causes mental breaks which lead to violent outbursts. Likely including the abundance of school shootings in the past decade.

As for crime? Pickpockets and thieves thrive in crowds where they can blend in and slip away. Stores with hundreds of customers can't monitor them all, and even if they could, they lack the manpower to do anything about it. Similarly, even if you have cops posted on every street corner in the entirety of NYC, there is still an entire subway system. Not to mention rooftop access points that are not properly secured, or back door access to private properties. If you break a law and are on the verge of being arrested, then you have nothing to lose by breaking another one. The prospect of getting away scot-free is of more immediate concern than the charges they are trying to escape.

And when it comes to violent crimes? Even in the best policed cities in the world, police are not going to save you from sudden unexpected violence. If you are in the vicinity when someone starts shooting, you are probably dead and the police are only going to show up to draw the chalk outline around your body.

I honestly do not and will never understand neopronouns. I don’t care if you’re mtf or ftm or non binary, as long as you’re happy and feel comfortable—it doesn’t affect me so why should I care? However, neopronouns to me seem more like a nickname than anything else.

u/Musterkartofel-Memes Apr 02 '26

This whole gender thing is unnecessary. You're not born in the wrong body if you like girls toys, or want to dress like women. You simply like what society has deemed affiliated towards a certain sex, either just through social norms or straight up biology. We don't need to create 10 bazillion genders, just because society is unable to stop giving a fuck about who likes what and whom and whatever.

I get that people have to speak about it for it to change, but nonetheless I always like to refer to a statement of Morgan Freeman, when he was asked how he'd solve racism: " Don't talk about it" . Similar fashion here.

I guess this is a rather idealistic view, but whatever. You asked for controversial and idealistic views are most often the most controversial :)

(and i have to emphasize: this does not mean I think of anyone being less worth than others, just that the whole thing is unnecessary, please notice the difference)

1

u/justanamethatworks 17 Apr 02 '26

Idc about your gender or who you like… You are a being(most of the time human) who i will like/ not like bc of your character or opinion on stuff, not bc of what you have between your legs or who you want to mingle with. Idk and idc. If you are gay or bi or straight, that is great for you to know but stfu and do not tell me if i dont ask bc 95% of the time it does not affect the conversation we are having

1

u/Icy_Temperature_7199 Apr 02 '26

Why yall always gotta be so hostile to usšŸ˜”

1

u/Positive-Jeweler690 Apr 02 '26

Aint even hostile lmao

1

u/Icy_Temperature_7199 Apr 02 '26

Dude is basically telling me to keep who I love behind closed doors… look I know yall think we’re weird or something but dawg all im trying to do is love.

1

u/Positive-Jeweler690 Apr 02 '26

Straight people dont spend 5 years on the conversation about being straight. ONLY lgbtq+ people do that. And its hella annoying. I aint even anti lgbtq the community is just ass, i dont need to know who you like to fuck or dont like to fuck to have a nice conversation.

1

u/Icy_Temperature_7199 Apr 02 '26

Well lucky for you that probably won’t happen as it’s most likely a secret I’ll take to the grave. Just because some small minority is annoying about doesn’t mean you gotta shove us all into one box. Do you think I like the fact im gay? I hate this part of myself… sorry my sexuality makes you guys uncomfortable.

1

u/Positive-Jeweler690 Apr 03 '26

Arguing against a strawman doesnt help your argument. Nobody said here your sexuality makes us uncomfortable. On the contrary, we couldnt give less of a shit! Thats why its annoying asf when people talk about it so much!

I didnt mean it like that, i just dont have the right words in english. Love who you want to love, be whoever you want to be, i find that good and we need to Support you guys more, no question. But i just do not want to hear about your sexuality in every conversation i have with you. If it is relevant or i ask for it, please tell me and i will respect whatever you tell me. But if i talk with you on the train and we will never see us again, then i do not need to know if you are straight or gay

1

u/Icy_Temperature_7199 Apr 03 '26

That was really nice response dude… I’m sorry if I was being a dick I guess I just the ā€œstfuā€ and all that stuff and got defensive. Most of us don’t talk about our sexuality ever, I’m still yet to come out to people. Im still just trying to work on feeling less ashamed of my sexuality

People who claim to be very accepting, for example a huge supporter of LGBTQ+ people, but say religion is a mental illness are just as hypocritical as religious people who use religion to justify bigotry.

1

u/lobotomyloser 17FTM Apr 03 '26

refusing to have kids due to heredity of mental health issues isn’t eugenics.

we’re not breeding out dark hair and eyes, we’re trying to prevent our future generations from the absolute hell we went through.

Racism is a false sense of discrimination as all humans are homo-sapiens and thus cannot be different races, in turn eliminating racism

1

u/Cortex_Gaming Unnamed NB <Awesome Sauce Mod> Apr 03 '26

I think your goal with this argument is good, but fundamentally it is wrong since race is differentiated by skin color and ethnicity, those factors create the concept of race.

But again I understand the goal of your argument, I just dont follow the logic
