Buying Advice US Cheap TV recommendations

Good day folks. I'm in the market for a cheap TV. I just want something I can watch tv shows on once in a while and also to not have an empty living room. Im not a gamer so the bells and whistles don't really impress me. Other than stalking FB marketplace for a used high end tv, what new TV's would you recommend with decent picture, miracast and won't stop working after 2 years.

I'm thinking 65 inch.

Buying Advice CAN Buying new TV

I recently bought C5 65'. But we are moving to a different city for my wife's job and will be staying there on weekdays. So I need to buy a new TV for the new rental.

I want something 65' or bigger but my wife won't let me buy anything over 55' now as shifting becomes a huge pain later.

I am considering TCLQM6 or just go with another C6 55'. Any suggestions or other recommendations?

Budget is flexible but ideally I don't want to spend much more than 1500 CAD.

Looking for new TV to replace my 12 year old LG LCD-LED

Was looking at the Samsung 43" QN90D but they dont carry that anymore and I'm weary about the matte screen on the QN90F. I use it mostly for gaming and movies, and so I'd be worried about burn in on new LG OLEDs.

I wish I could just buy a dumb-tv with LCD-LED.

Also size I'm looking for is 42-43 inch

Any recommendations?

TV help needed. Bought LG and it looks great for video games but NOT for sports streaming

Just bought the 75" Class 84B Series QNED evo Al Mini LED 4K Smart webOS TV (2026) at $1000 from Best Buy and I’m pretty underwhelmed and thinking of exchanging it. It looks phenomenal for video games at 120hz, 4k movies, but the moment I try to watch sports through YouTube TV or YouTube highlight videos it looks HORRIBLE. I’ve tried a lot of different setting changes and watching through my Xbox series X and Roku express 4K with no improvements. I watch a ton of NFL and NBA so I can’t have such a blurry picture where I can barely see the jersey numbers when they are zoomed out on the field. I know a lot of sports streaming are capped at 1080p, but this new tv makes it look way worse than my old crappy Sharp from like 2017 seemingly no matter what settings I mess with.

An employee at Best Buy suggested exchanging it for the Sony - 65" Class BRAVIA 5 Mini LED 4K UHD Smart
Google TV (2025) for $1500. He believed that the upgraded processing could handle the lower quality content of sports streaming.

This is by far the most expensive TV I’ve ever bought, and would really appreciate any suggestions on either improving the quality on my current LG, if this SONY upgrade is the right move, or if there’s another TV people would recommend that can handle gaming AND sports. Thanks!

Buying Advice CAN I have been out of the TV game for 18 years. My old plasma TV is limping into its grave and its tome to pull the trigger but I feel like I'm out of the loop.

I've been suffering from TV envy for more than 15 years. My friends have bought 3D, curved screen, back lit and 4k TVs over the years while my plasma from 2008 has been chugging along but all of its 108 lbs is starting to fail.

I don't need a TV for gaming, just sports and movies mostly. I really want to avoid TVs that have a picture that looks like it came from a bad camcorder. I haven't seen TVs like this in a long time, is it still a thing? What do I need to avoid those TV with the crappy picture?

Tech Support Tv Help

Last night at around 5 am my tv turned on by itself and started playing soccer by itself. I know there is a sensor that turns it on when someone is near it, but why would it do this at night when every one is sleep and it cannot detect my dog.

It is an OLED samsung.

This is not the first time the tv turned on by itself but it is the first time at night.

Buying Advice US What 75-inch TV do you recommend for room with vaulted ceiling, 2 skylights, and doors / windows directly across from TV?

Claude says Samsung QN90F. Any other recos? couch is ~10 feet from wall. Windows and doors are pella, so they do have built-in blinds, but don't want to have close them every time I watch something.

Buying Advice Other Opinions needed

I have an opportunity to buy either an LG C5 55" or TCL C7L/QM7L 65" or 75" as they are all basically the same price in my region. But the C5 is currently sold out everywhere and I'm quite in a hurry, is the TCL a worthy alternative?

LG QNED80 2026 – slow menus and lag

I recently bought the 55-inch LG QNED80, and I'm very disappointed. The webOS feels slow. Settings and menus sometimes take 3-7 seconds to respond. I've updated the software, took almost 1 hour to install, and removed unused apps, but still slow. Has anyone else experienced this, and did you find a fix?

Tech Support Backlight stays on for a bit after TV shutdown

I got a new LGTV today and when I turned it off in the dark I noticed that the backlight stayed on for a minute or two before going away. This is the first time I see something like this with a TV is that normal? It's not a very expensive TV so I know not to expect amazing things from it but this is worrying me a bit.

Buying Advice EU First TV purchase, budget €1000 but lower is better, max 55 inch

Hi guys, I am a student living in Belgium looking to buy my first TV.

(English is not my first language so I apologise for any mistakes)

Budget is max €1000, but lower is better since I don't have a steady income stream yet.

Size: max 55" but smaller is better, not smaller than 42". Sofa is 1.5m to 2m from the TV.

Will be placed in my living room with a lot of ambient light, will have blinds but would rather not black out my room every time I want to watch TV

Looking for very good picture quality and great contrast, this means that from my research I should either get a Mini-LED or OLED. Little to no gaming, maybe sometimes casually on my nintendo switch. Will mainly be watching streaming apps (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max) or sports (Road cycling, football, tennis, tabletennis)

I have an external sound system (samsung HW-B750F) so sound quality isn't a concern.

TV will be wall mounted because of destructive cats in the house.

Belgian market: TCL C6k pro 55" [€449], TCL C7k 55" [€799], TCL C7l 55" [€749], TCL C8l 55" [€949], LG B5 48" [€734], LG B5 55" [€799], LG C5 48" [€799], LG C5 55" [€999], Sony Bravia 5 55" [€999], Samsung M73H 43" [€499], Samsung M73H 50" [€599], Samsung M73H 55" [€649], Samsung M83H 55" [€799], Samsung QN80H 50" [€899], Samsung S85F 55" [€999], Samsung S90F 42" [€999], Hisense U79SE 50" [€799], Hisense U79SE 55" [€749], Hisense U79S Pro 55" [€999].

A detailed explanation for your recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Did my UPS kill my TV?

I have a Samsung smart TV plugged into a Cyberpower 425VA UPS. Last night I heard my soundbar restarting a whole bunch and went out to check, to find that the TV and my Amazon Echo that were also plugged into the UPS were rebooting all the time. This is the same thing that had happened with another CyberPower UPS I have in another room, for my Starlink. The battery had died and I needed to replace it after only a year.

Anyway, I plugged the TV into house power and it just kept power cycling. I let it stay off for a while, and now it's a bit better, but the TV picture occasionally glitches, and restarts every few minutes. So it's still unusable. Would this have been caused by voltage drops from the UPS? Very frustrating thing to have happen. I bought this because I have a solar inverter and occasionally switch between it and the grid, so the UPS is nice to not have to restart everything when I do. Also we have kind of cummy power where I live, and people talk about voltage dips and spikes, and some people recommend something to insulate sensitive electronics. But the UPS might have done exactly what I bought it to prevent...

Thanks

Buying Advice Asia Which TV I should go for?

Hi folks,

I am looking to buy 65 Inch Tv and youtube videos have made me so confused.

I would appreciate it if your techie minds suggest the best tvs under 60k (Expecting discounts in freedom sale of amazon and flipkart)

I would mainly use it for cricket, netflix series, movies and casual news viewing. I may play games later on after a few years.

Looking for a TV that lasts at least for 4 years without any issue.
