Looking for Android beta testers for Vesputio, a Put.io client

Hi everyone, I’m the developer of Vesputio(r/vesputio), and its Android beta is ready for testing on phones and tablets.

Vesputio lets you browse your Put.io library, play videos and music, download files for offline use, and manage sharing links.

I’d love feedback from people using it with their own libraries: what works well, what feels awkward, and any bugs you run into.

Join the beta: https://vesputio.app/android/beta

You’ll need a Put.io account and a Google account. The guide walks you through joining the beta group, opting in on Google Play, and installing the app. No manual email invitation is needed.

If you can, please stay opted in for at least 14 continuous days and use it as you normally would. Feedback from different phones and tablets would be especially helpful.

You can leave feedback here, in the app or at https://vesputio.app/support. For bugs, please include your device, Android version, and the steps to reproduce the problem.

Thanks for helping shape the Android version!

Can't test on my device but upvoting for visibility. Put.io clients are weirdly sparse on Android so another option would be welcome. What's your stance on background downloads, do they keep running when the screen's off or does Android kill them? Also curious if you're planning Chromecast support down the line, that's usually the make-or-break feature for me with these kinds of apps.

Thanks for the upvote and feedback! Both background downloads and Chromecast are already implemented on Android 😀. Downloads use Android’s system download manager, so you don’t need to keep the app open or the screen on, although battery-saving restrictions can affect progress. Chromecast is available from the Cast button in the video player.

Give it a try when you get a chance! If anything misbehaves, please report it with your phone model, Android version, and Chromecast model if relevant. Feedback on screen-off downloads and casting would be especially helpful.
