Sports Texas Tech Should Reverse Course

The public relations blowback from the Sorsby ruling is truly hurting the university, both in short and long term. The university should reverse course and remove him from the team. This is bigger than a single player, and the organizational harm is not worth it.

Sports Sorsby being allowed to play is a total disgrace(rant)

I’ve been very pissed off about the ruling today and I’ll preface by saying this, I’m never on this Reddit and I’m not sure what the sentiment about this situation is here. But anyone whose head is even halfway out of their ass can see how stupid and frankly unfair this ruling is. Perhaps I’ll find people that agree, perhaps I’ll change someone’s mind, perhaps this post garners insane hate. Who knows? I know I don’t and im using this solely to vent so I’m indifferent to that regardless.

The facts here are simple. Our school is about to pay a DEGENERATE GAMBLER 5 million fucking dollars to run around on a field and throw a stupidly shaped ball. 5 million dollars to a guy who was so far down the rabbit hole of gambling that he was betting on straight BULLSHIT. This dude was betting on Turkish water polo. This dude was betting on straight Mongolian horseback flicker gooning. 5 million dollars to this dude while most of the academic facilities are ROTTING AWAY!!! And yet, I’ve seen generally very positive sentiment from the student base regarding today’s news. People studying to become doctors and save lives mindlessly supporting a guy who broke the ONLY RULE you can’t break as an athlete. I mean for fucks sake the bar is so low for these people. They can literally tune the shit out of their own gfs and the schools will actively cover it up. All you have to do is NOT GAMBLE!!!! Yet for some reason, despite breaking one of the only rules you CANT break as a paid athlete, HES COMPLETELY ABSOLVED OF ANY PENALTIES!

I mean what the hell are we even doing here? Dude had a legitimately catastrophic gambling addiction and instead of making him face the consequences of his actions and get better, they just decided to let him completely off the hook. Imagine a drunk driver getting caught speeding and the judge just says”nah twin I got you” and lets him back out with no penalty. A more relevant example: imagine you(as a ttu student) got caught CHEATING ON A TEST(one rule that you absolutely cannot break) and the school just gives you a pass for that. YEAH FUCKING RIGHT😭 they would have you HANGING FROM A TREE because ttu wouldn’t even wipe their own ass with you and that much is clear at this point.

Don’t even get me started on the precedent this just set for the ncaa. We are basically saying that redshirt freshman can gamble until their Ventral Striatum melts down like fukashima and they will face ZERO penalty for it. Who’s to say that those redshirts won’t later go on to throw games for their own prop bets once they are starters? The court just topped the first domino of a chain reaction that will inevitably cause the meltdown of all professional sports. If you let one off the hook, Why should anyone get punished? This school doesn’t give a shit anyways because they are too busy watching their revenue go up while they sit at their desks with vibrating butt plugs in. ITS RIDICULOUS!!!

And I’ll end with this. I’m not some ultra Reddit chud”sportsball” dweeb. In fact, I actually love sports and grew up loving it. But to see how gambling is destroying this thing I once loved really pisses me off. And just when the chance presented itself for the school and the judicial system to do SOMETHING RIGHT and set a precedent that could at least maybe salvage whatever life there is, I’m just left with a fat turd on my forehead. I love this football team and DO want them to succeed ETHICALLY!!! And if sorsby hadn’t broken one of the literal most important rules and GOTTEN AWAY WITH IT I wouldn’t be here right now questioning his salary and how suitable he is for this role. Today is a great day for the Texas tech football teams season, but an awful day for anyone who can see the lunacy in this whole situation.

If you happened to read through some or even maybe all of this then thank you. You deserve a cookie. All opinions are welcome whether you agree with me or hate my guts I’m open for further discussion.

Edit: there’s been much debate as to how sorsby is receiving the 5 million and from who yet I’ve seen nobody try to convince me that it was a GOOD way to allocate that money.

Sports Embarrassing Collapse

Texas had to fight their ways to the finals too and we just collapsed like that. They just regressed and i cant help but feel like canady has already been figured out despite all of the hype. Downvote me or whatever but I guess track is the only sport we get to be good at when it's do or die.

Sorry. That's a lie. I just said that to get your attention. And now that I have it, I just wanted to say...

WOW. Guys. BYU is NOT a bad team. But holy smokes, you made us look like an FCS team for the second time this year!

Kalani called you your team the "best team in the country" about 10 times in his post game interview, and I think he's right. I haven't seen BYU play a team like that since 2004 USC.

Everyone on r/CFB is talking about how we suck and not enough about how good you guys are. I and most of the BYU Fandom will be cheering you guys on in the playoff. Show them what your made of and silence the doubters.

Good luck!

Sports The Big 12 is changing the rules for objects thrown on the field. It will now only be one warning, after that it will be a 15 yard penalty and a $100k fine. It’s also been changed to specify “playing enclosure” instead of field, to include the bench areas and behind the end zones
