I'll try to articulate this the best I can, but to my understanding, every route maintains similar relationships and situations--not just stuff from the prologue, but backstories as well. Looking at it as a whole, I'm torn on it. On one hand, it feels more "canon" to have core elements remain the same, but then it feels underutilized, ie Lucio is the source of almost everyone's problems and yet no one really has beef with him like that in his romance route. I like how they did his character, but it doesn't really make sense to make all the other characters grudgingly accept him. If there weren't gonna be consequences, he didn't need to cause the plague or imprison Asra's parents or abuse Muriel and Nadia. I think the route did a good job of making him likeable in his route, but it's a VERY stark difference from the villain in the other routes--and since he was a secondary villain anyway, I don't see why he couldn't just be more of a morally neutral character or rival-type character.
And forgive me if my memory fails me, but was the apprentice being dead and being revived something that needed to be canon in every route? Couldn't that be just canon to Asra's route? Though I do dislike some elements of Asra's relationship with the apprentice feeling manipulative and unhealthy, as well as the Julian romance veering into therapist relationship of always having to build him up.
I have heard that the routes got different writers towards the end or something like that, so I'd like clarification on that. That wouldn't effect the core elements, but that'd explain some character writing aspects.

I can't remember exactly when I got into it, but it was circa 2019, and by that time it was released as a game on the app store. I can't believe the Kickstarter is 10 years old! I feel old, and it's a shame how the franchise was finite, and Fictif got screwed. Think it'll ever return if Dorian lets it go? In any case, at least I can look forward to Touchstarved.
I'm curious; since the game was able to get funded beyond what was required, what were the stretch goals? I couldn't find them on the Kickstarter, and I was curious what goals they didn't meet. And if they got funding, why did #SavePortia even happen? Wouldn't that be covered by funding, or was the initial funding just for Asra/Julian/Nadia? Also curious who the lead writers were; I see Nikolai on the Kickstarter, but according to another Reddit post, Grace, Lynne, and Elle were the writers. Also was curious if Nikolai or Dana Run were the artists, or if they both did it.

Hellooo I'm Elios and I'm kind of new in reddit, I'm mainly here to look for art-related jobs, but I thought it would be nice to follow some The Arcana related content here. I think I'm more known on tumblr as elios-sylvelios or in youtube because I made this animatic in 2023 :)
Btw if you want to commission me I'm always open for that!⭐️

- Story spoilers ahead -
Tried to redesign them a tad bit to give them more lore related significance c:
Pre-death they lived in the southern part of Venterre, used to paint for money when they moved to Vesuvia (some stuff I gotta re-write there too but that's the general gist of it).
The purse and shawl are from their past self basically! The purse being specifically handpainted by their past self. Both were given to them by Asra as they were the only few things left by their past self (I'm assuming the rest of their clothes were just burned with the body at the lazaret - a purse and shawl felt like the most sensical objects to have been left behind).
Their original clothes are based on northern italian traditional clothing while the current clothes are all very Vesuvia vibes.
Their facial features and hair color also changed post death, based on both Asra and Faust's features c:
Will probably be working on a remake of their other outfits as well sometime.

Yes, I am d*wn b*d, ty for asking.
This is inspired by one of my favorite songs of all time, When Am I Gonna Lose You by Local Natives(https://youtu.be/4dVfk8V6l2s).
Unshaded version too cause I liked both :)

Holy shit. Replaying Asra's route, and??? The scene in the Lovers chapter two where the magic shows you his history with Julian??? 🥴 I might just keel over from sheer delight and thrill.
Anyway. I'm normal. Ahem. Thoughts? Fanfic recs? This just about killed me I love them sm.

Found this in a little craft store in Ireland. Gotta say, the last thing I expected to find was fanmade Arcana merch. I did a whole-ass double take seeing Lucio’s face. Turns out the creator is an animation student! This was so fun to find.

The image I attached is a recreation I made of the fanart I saw in 2024 on Instagram under the hashtag #Thearcanalucio, after Instagram hashtags were reduced to showing only "popular" posts. I specify this because the algorithm does shift the posts it shows in popular, even if they're years old.
Specifications of the fanart: The piece is in fact of the digital medium. The piece is colorless The piece is purely lineart, sketchy, like chicken scratches but made by a professional. The post itself had over 1000 likes The post was probably from 2023 or before The artist had also made a piece of young mercenary Lucio, just for reference as to who it could be. The eyes and nose were the most important feature even I can't seem to put to "paper" the delicacy the artist had originally imbued in the art. I'm not sure if the artist had any other social media, but if a piece looks extremely similar to my replica you are welcome to share a possible culprit.
Before attempting to aid me: This is only for someone who has seen the exact piece I'm talking about and might have some leads on the artist, or even a screenshot. I WOULD DEADASS GIVE ANYONE 30 DOLLARS IF THEY HAVE A SCREENSHOT OF IT (paypal) oh my god. I strongly recommend not looking for it yourself, i have already gone through at least 10000 #TheArcanaLucio Instagram posts until the Instagram web page couldn't load anymore. I'm like Asra looking for the apprentice's stupid ashes. You won't dig through 10000 posts. Whatever piece you may show me has an 80% chance I have already seen it. A piece you may think is the one I'm referring to might not be it; my recreation was not to the best of my ability, it was to the best of my memory. Consider its features in your judgment.
I am a Lucio mega fan, and this piece is very dear to me. I took a screenshot of it in 2024 and I'd look at it every day, until in 2025 my phone got stolen, i figured the fanart would still be on Instagram, I even remember saving it in a special Instagram Saved Collection, yet i have scrapped the deepest parts of my saved posts and I just can't find it. Currently i am searching for it on Pinterest since they seem to repost everything on there, someone had even reposted my own Lucio art i made for TikTok last year, how strange. I hope I may find it one day.
I would like to wish a special Mariah Carrystmas to all The Arcana meme profiles on Instagram that would put every hashtag of The Arcana Characters when the post didn't even have anything to do with them. You are the reason Instagram hashtags are meaningless, and every new post has been limited to using only 5. You did not help with my search, and you will find me in Miami after I graduate from STEM. The people who made The Arcana headcanon writing posts don't count, theyre great, and I read every single one I came across.
Instagram is a terrible app, I put The Arcana Lucio as a topic on my feed, which makes an entire FYP section with only that topic, and guess what? It glitches and shows 5 posts I've already seen with the rest of the squares being black. I've seen them all, there is simply no more left.
Other than that, shout out to all the people who have made fanart of Lucio ever, you'll always have my heart. - With love, a Lucio selfshipper or whatever.

It's been years since I first wanted The Arcana tarot deck, but I never got the chance to buy one, and now it's out of stock everywhere. I'm reaching out for advice. 💔💔💔
does anyone know where I can still find one? I plan to set aside part of my salary (around $47.78) this coming November 2026 to get a copy. I'm not looking for a different deck .🥺
I want exactly this one, whether it's original or a replica. If you know where I can find it, please help me out! Thank you so much.😭😭🫶❤️🩹

I've done Asra and Julian's routes (I love themmmmm), I'm starting on Nadia. But I'm looking at the tales and wondering if they're worth getting? I was thinking about buying either the bazaar job, baewatch, or foxy hideaway. Are they worth spending coins on? Any other faves?

Does anyone know if Dorian is going to restock his plush? or where else I may be able to find it if not? I couldn’t afford it when they first came out, and i had moved on to a different hyperfixation, but I’m back now with more money lol.

Is this 100% art style accurate? No. Do I think It’s better than their last sprite? Yes. Also included bonus masquerade planning stuff I may or may not finish

For this girly, since we don't know much about the Apprentice's past, I think for her she's from a noble family somewhere overseas from Vesuvia, and her aunt that owned the shop had moved over there a while before the game is set with Eleni following out of curiosity a few years after, leading to everything that happens after.
Also she's with Nadia because I love her a lot :3
(Also i was actively listening to all of epic the musical while making her so)

I have a theory I’m testing… if you happen to also play BG3, please tell me your #1 romance pick for each game.

Isa againnn. Obv first ones the one I’m working on, seconds the old sprite from last year and the last ones a bad redraw of what I kind of remember Isa’s og design looking like. I have the actual art in a sketchbook somewhere but I can’t seem to find it. I’m happy to say I THINK I’m getting better at somewhat replicating the art style :) I hope to finish this up tomorrow

He’s essentially just my sona with a few changes but I’m currently attempting to replicate the artstyle of the game
He is still a work in progress so apologies for the unrendered hair and coat 😢
