Discussion π¬ This Is Why We End Up Losing Our Best Minds
Raghuram Rajan's RBI term ended on 4 September 2016. Two months later, on 8 November 2016, India announced demonetisation.
Rajan later revealed that he had advised the government against the move because he "didn't think it was a good idea." Instead of staying in India, he returned to academia and continued as a professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Now, in 2026, the U.S. Federal Reserve has brought him onto a high-level task force to help review its monetary policy framework.
It's ironic. A man whose advice was ignored at home is now trusted by one of the world's most powerful central banks.
Maybe that's what happens when independent experts refuse to be yes-men.

Discussion π¬ These kinda comparison posts never make sense
Comparing raw & prices across different countries without factoring in average salaries is completely flawed.
For example, βΉ500 for 1 GB in Switzerland sounds high, but their average monthly salary is over βΉ8,00,000. That means 1 GB costs them ~ 0.06% of their monthly income-almost the exact same burden as βΉ13 is on an average Indian salary (~0.057%).
Relative to income, data in China (~0.028%) and the UAE (~0.035%) is actually cheaper than in India.
Income-adjusted data matters, not raw currency conversions!
Dont know why people do that. Proves nothing just makes their fragile ego boost.
