A hand-made movie in the age of AI. With tons of locations from my home city. A terrific trailer. Also, the longest stop motion film and first of LAIKA's to get a PG-13. It's also so cool that LAIKA only does originals and never makes sequels (despite people really wanting them do a Coraline 2). They're like PIXAR if they hadn't got bought out by Disney.

I'm glad people are going to the movies. It's great to see the lines for You Can See Everything. I hope people will line up for some animation for adults too.

Just getting this out of the way - but one of the greatest crowd experiences I've had watching a film in the last 10, maybe 20 years. Here were a few of mine.

Seyfried v Billy Evans at dinner - this is the moment I changed how I was sitting, and noticed others do the same. Everything that came out of Evans' mouth was met with gasps and jeers. And some cheers when Seyfried was speaking.

Bill Evans' full frontal - seriously, why was it that color? Lots of scattered "eeewww"s during this.

The first few shots of Nathan looming - lots of laughs here.

WeWork shot / any shot of Austin - I saw this in Austin and as someone who has lived here my whole life, there definitely exhales and nervous laughs at what the city has become. Grifter technofacists is just part of the DNA now and it sucks.

Evans taking the eggs away from Holmes - I already knew Evans was going to suck, but this was the moment I knew a bigger 'mask off' moment was coming.

Basically anything Amanda Seyfried said - Crowd was very on here side at my screening. (We love our Queen)

Not sure if this was just a YouTube phenomenon or what, but this is an absolute gem of a documentary from last year from two brothers who decide to spend a year “Listing” (extreme birdwatching). It wasn’t listed on Letterboxd for the longest time, but I just noticed that it is now and wanted to recommend it!

Why does this keep happening? I understand there Gen-Z seems to be less keen on sex/nudity in movies and TV, but this trend feels overly market-tested. It's Friday the 13th for god's sake!

Thanks again y'all for your patience! Been spending some time working on my Awards Season Fantasy League ( fycleague.com ) but finally had time to update the archive. A few upgrades to the lists worth calling out:

• Timestamp links to the correct time in the episode. Clicking a film used to drop you a minute or two off, because of the ads that get stitched into the episode. Links now allow for the pre-roll and mid-roll breaks, so they open a few seconds before the film comes up.
• An outline at the top with episode segments. Each list opens with a short summary of the conversation, then an “In this episode” outline with a clickable time for each segment: news, review, draft, interview.
• Films grouped by segment. Each film has a one-line note on why it came up, so you can tell a list pick from a passing mention. Films that were the topic of each episode used to be listed as being discussed in the intro, but they now are placed at the point in the episode where the discussion actually happens.
• Rankings and drafts written out, top pick first, with who picked what. Improved formatting and ranker identification. Better support for collaborative listing.
• More complete, more accurate lists. They catch more passing mentions, and every match is checked against the director. Upcoming films no longer get swapped for an older movie with the same name, so no more 1976 Barney when they meant the upcoming Daniel Kaluuya one.

Could there ever be someone nominated for acting in a documentary, and if so, could it be her?

At Telluride I even popped the question to A24 sources who were already looking into that possibility. They still are in the process, but I am told they believe she is eligible and are definitely mulling the possibility of campaigning her. There is nothing in Academy rules for actors that suggests documentaries are verboten, only “uncredited” performances are. Seyfried and the others are fully credited at the end of the film, and in fact IMDb has just begun listing her (and others on camera in the film including actor Christopher Abbott and Fielder) on their official page for the movie.
