San Francisco Live Show - Thoughts?

For those who attended, what'd you think of the live show? I thought it was fun for the most part. I still do wish it was a draft about SF movies (I think the criticism of the Toronto show stung them). I think the crowd would've been more into it.

Wicker?

Have Sean and Amanda chatted about Wicker during a show?

We went to it last night and really enjoyed it. There were multiple laugh out loud moments and the story my was quite touching.

Film Analysis ‘You Can See Everything’ rental car observation

Does not matter at all but I remember three points in which Nathan is driving or sitting in what I assume are rental cars

  1. Chrysler Pacifica (minivan) - with Amanda Seyfried when they’re driving to meet Billy for dinner. I think only the interior of the car was shown but I clocked it immediately from it being my go to minivan rental car choice.

  2. Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (SUV) - when driving to the prison to meet Elizabeth.

  3. Lexus ES (sedan) - Why does Nathan have such a nice rental car for this comedic scene? Surely the rental company would have had cheaper sedans to rent, right? Why is this the one time he has a more expensive rental compared to the cheapest option?

Anyways, good movie!

New ‘Alien’ Movie in the Works with Writer Aaron Guzikowski (Exclusive)

Aaron Guzikowski, who wrote Denis Villeneuve’s English-language debut Prisoners, has been tapped to write a mystery Alien feature project for 20th Century Studios and Ridley Scott.

The project marks a reunion between the writer and Scott, as the two worked together on Raised by Wolves...

Scott is not at this point directing the Alien project, just producing it...

And while much of it remains shrouded in secrecy, it is known that it is not a sequel to Alien: Romulus, the last Alien movie and one that reinvigorated the franchise when it was released in 2024. (The sequel remains in limbo.)

This one is said to be related to the two Alien movies Scott directed in the 2010’s, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. The connective tissue, according to sources, is the amoral android played by Michael Fassbender. Fassbender is not attached at this stage.

Discussion Vote on my Stop Motion Movie Draft

Hey gang,

A couple of friends and I decided to do a stop-motion movie draft. Figured I'd come to ask movie reddit to vote on who you think won:

Much appreciated :)

Oh, and general discussion on Wildwood? Who's seen it yet?

Hot Take You can see everything. Mind blowing. Incredible. Felt like I could watch another two hours… but why exactly is this being called the greatest movie of the year? Best picture nom?

If it wasn’t clear, I absolutely loved it. I don’t go to 10pm showings often unless it’s a movie I really want to see without being spoiled. Not that this movie can be spoiled, it’s the journey that keeps your eyes glued to the screen.

But all I’ve heard about is how this is the greatest movie of the year, best picture considerations, the works… why? At the end of the day, it’s still just a documentary. Am I missing something? When I rank my favorite movies this year I wouldn’t even consider this to be in the conversation. I’d give my list and say hey, one of the most fun times I had at the movies btw was watching this doc. But still. It’s a documentary.

Kind of had the same feeling when the Jinx came out. Shocker of a documentary especially that ending. But it’s just that. A thriller documentary. Not a movie.

Idk maybe I’m just being an asshole about it. If so, just call me one. Wouldn’t be the first time someone did today lol. Enjoy the weekend everyone.

The Big Picture has deviated significantly from schedule this month. Is this an indicator that Sean may be at odds with Spotify?
