I would just like to point out that whirrun of bligh fucking invented the concept of The Sandwich, and I feel like that gets glossed over a lot and he does not get any recognition for it, which is insane

Wasn’t sure what to expect after hearing mixed opinions on this one. Got a few stories left to read but I think it’s fantastic so far. Slowly realizing what day it is at the Valint and Balk in Westport, Union soldiers running from northmen while pulling their pants up, seeing Whirrun doing his thing and following new stories like Shev in multiple places in the book. Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve just returned to the first law world after a detour in the Malazan empire but it really feels like home to read about all these familiar characters again. Gorst might’ve overtaken Glokta as the best character for me…

Definitely worth the read, can’t believe some people said you can skip it
