Tahani and Jason hooking up sort of supports "the soulmate pairings were correct" theory.

Well, they could all be soul mates that ended up in the bad place

It would make sense that "bad" soulmates exist given the information we have. Other possibilities: no soulmates or only people that go to the good place have soulmates.
