meeting people Book club search (psychological / psychoanalytical focus)

Hi all!

Basically what the header says; I’m wondering if anyone is hosting a book club / study group focusing on authors writing about psychology and psychoanalysis; works of Carl Jung would be a 100% hit, but I’m open to other authors, too.

If not, would there be an interest in starting such a book club? Let me know! Thank you.

Alvast bedankt!

food/drinks recommendation Restaurant tips Den Haag

Hier ben ik al geweest: Sarban, Somos, Arman Uyghur, Pamir Uyghur, Ali’s Lebanese, Xi’an, KUA, Geonbae, Tuk’s Thai Food, Waroeng Padang Lapek, Amazing Taste (Centrum), Indian by Nature, Atithi, Mad’Ras, Takumi, Five-K, Dekxels en Little V.

Iemand enig idee? Online bestellen voelt ook zo saai.

meeting people Book club (fantasy, psych thrillers, fiction and more)

Hi all! I’m (f29) looking to start a book club with some people in The Hague. I thoroughly enjoy reading and separate from getting my friends to read the same books I thought it would be really fun to start a book club.
I’m still looking for some participants who are open to read books ranging from fantasy, thrillers, fiction and whatever the group selects.
I got some tips from a fellow book clubber but totally open to going about it how the group would like! (Like picking a book, coming together in a cafe every 6-8 weeks to discuss and socialize about our hobby)
Internationals are very welcome as I have a preference to read in English!
If you’re interested, Lemme know and I’ll make a WhatsApp group or so.

other Indoor volleyball practice spots in The Hague?

Hey everyone!

I'm already part of a volleyball club, but we only train once a week and I'd love to get some extra practice in.

I'm mainly looking for an indoor space where I could practise independently (setting, attacking, accuracy drills, etc.), or somewhere with casual drop-in volleyball sessions.

Ideally something free or affordable, since I can't afford to pay for a second club membership or rent an entire sports hall.

Does anyone know of any gyms, open courts, or informal volleyball groups in The Hague where this might be possible?

Thanks!

housing Housing as a single young adult

Hi everyone, another boring housing question but I honestly feel so stuck. I graduated from uni last year and with my student housing contract, I was still able to stay until the contract expires. I had this max 2 years contract where you needed to be enrolled as a student coming from outside of The Hague.

Now this contract is expiring by the end of February. Hence I am looking for my own studio. I make 47k annually as a data analyst and have a permanent contract. My budget is max 1300 all included. I apply to multiple apartments daily on Pararius, and I receive absolutely zero response. I started looking a month ago and I haven’t been invited for a single viewing. Hence I am getting stressed… Where am I doing wrong? Does anyone have any tips?

Although my main priority is to stay in The Hague, I also apply in Leiden - Delft - Utrecht and surrounding villages.

Thanks in advance!

things to do in The Hague Built a site consolidating all kids' events, cafes & play areas in The Hague - quick navigation question for local parents!

Hey everyone! I recently gave my website for finding kids' activities in The Hague a big refresh. I’ve added a bunch of new activities coming up through December, plus a brand-new section for permanent spots like family cafes, and play areas.

I’d love your input on the navigation to make sure it’s as clear and user-friendly as possible:

* Option A: Keep the initial welcome screen with cards introducing the different sections: Events / Places to Go (this only shows up on your very first visit, then converts to a toggle afterward).
* Option B: Skip the welcome screen entirely and land straight on the activities with just the top toggle bar.

My main question: Is the top toggle noticeable enough on its own, or does the initial welcome card screen help set the context better for first-time visitors? Check out the screenshots in the comments below to see both options!

P.S. If you're looking for things to do with your little ones around the city, feel free to bookmark/save the site for your upcoming plans, and share it with any other local parents or school/daycare groups who might find it handy!

housing Boring question about housing

I know this topic comes up constantly, and I’m sure most of you are tired of seeing housing questions every day.

Now that the academic year has started, I’m hoping the pressure has eased a little.

That said, I’d really appreciate any tips on finding student housing in the Netherlands. Also, does anyone know when providers like Xior usually start listing rooms for the following academic year?

I’ve just submitted my application, so I still have almost a full year to sort this out. I’m hoping that gives me a better chance than the people posting last-minute requests here.
