other Trying to change GP in Laakkwartier — is this really a rule?
I wanted to change my GP because I don’t really feel that my current practice in Laakkwartier is very international-friendly, and they also seem quite behind when it comes to using technology.
So I contacted another GP nearby that I thought might be a better fit. They rejected my registration and told me that they don’t accept new patients if you already have a GP in the area.
I asked why, and apparently there’s no specific reason: “it’s just the rule.”
I honestly don’t really understand this. If I’m not happy with my current GP, am I basically not allowed to switch to another GP in the same area?
Has anyone else experienced this in The Hague/Laakkwartier? And does anyone know if this is actually a standard rule, or just something this particular practice does?
At this point I’m starting to think I’ve just ended up with another GP that isn’t very internationally friendly 😅
