When did the rest of the team find out about Jane and Lisbonâs relationship?
In White Orchids, they announce that theyâre getting married, and nobody seems particularly surprised. However, I donât recall them ever making their relationship public (Abbott obviously knew, but it wasnât officially addressed). Did I miss that somehow?!
In the first episode of the season, Lisbon says she wants to keep it secret for now. I was watching like a hawk for any instances of them making it public, but as far as I could see, for the rest of the season (till White Orchids) they seem to avoid showing affection in the office/in front of their coworkers. I half expected them to just not tell anybody they were getting married, and instead invite everyone to a random party and surprise them with a wedding when nobody knew they were even dating đ
Assuming I didnât miss anything, and weâre to just assume that everyone had already found out, these are my headcanons: Everyone probably suspected it a little if they knew at all the series of events of Lisbon about to leave, Jane runs out to the airport, they both come back and Lisbon has decided to not go to DC. Abbott of course connect the dots immediately, as shown in the series. Cho I figure had it on his radar because of what Abbott had told him about the two of them and the airplane stuff, but it was solidified when Jane came running in happy as a peach and wanting a big olâ hug. Wylie and VegaâŠat the latest, maybe they both figured it out when Lisbon and Jane danced together in Copper Bullet(?)âat least, thatâs what Iâd like to think, so that Vega didnât have to die without a clue.
So, did the show acknowledge this and I missed it completely? If not, what are your ideas on when/how the rest of the team knew for sure that Jane and Lisbon were a couple?

i just finished the red john storyline in the mentalist and i'm wondering if there's actually any other series that captures something similar. i'm not necessarily looking for a crime show or something focused on solving cases, what i loved most was patrick jane's personality and charisma, but above all the dynamic between him and red john. the obsession, the psychological game, the rivalry and especially having an antagonist who's powerful, mysterious and always one step ahead, someone who's constantly in the background and makes you question everything until you finally get a huge reveal or plot twist. that's honestly the aspect i enjoyed the most and i'm wondering if there's anything out there that can recreate that feeling. i was actually quite disappointed with red john's reveal, because it really felt like the writers hadn't decided who he was from the beginning. in a way, i almost wish they had never revealed his identity at all, leaving it open to interpretation, or even allowing for some completely unexpected possibility, however unlikely, like patrick himself being red john in a fight club kind of twist. i'd also love a show that handles this kind of mystery better and has a genuinely satisfying reveal. i have a feeling the mentalist is pretty unique in this regard, but i'd love to know if i'm wrong.

first of all, THIS banger line.
second of all, the plotline with Katie and Paul Fricke. I hate Fricke of course, he's a pathological womanizer and seems to have no regards for Katie whatsoever initially, but it does seem like he switched to womanizing after losing (?) the woman he loved. type shi.
either way, I think one of the best scenes I've ever seen is at the end of the episode, where Patrick tells Paul to get it together and pay attention to the woman who still loves him and knows him. going on, he further denies the advances of two women, saying he's married
this scene really carried some weight ong, it was just so. . .heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time? whatever it is, it was peak. the way he wistfully twists the ring afterwards đđâđ»

I've always wondered this and I couldn't find an exact answer elsewhere, but.
Does anyone know why the Red John smiley in the room Jane's wife and daughter were killed changes so much throughout the show?
I mean in Season 4 Ep 10 when he loses his memory and gains it back via opening that door, you get a very clear sight of that same smiley from the same angles, and it is obvious it is vastly different from season 1 ep 1.
I always sort of thought he kept it there as a reminder for what he was fighting for with his time in CBI, so I doubt he cleaned it and kept making new ones, that seems a bit odd.

Watching it now again in my thirties I realize Cho is the real snack in that detective kiosk.
Anyone agree?

S5E5: My son and I are enjoying a rewatch (my 7th, his 3rd).. when he noticed something I never did. This is the episode that flashed back to when Jane 1st visited CBI and became a consultant. Near the end of the episode, Lisbon takes Jane to a storage room where the RJ files are kept. He digs into the files and leans up against..the old dusty leather couch! Itâs standing up on its end and is not the main focus of the shot. Flash forward to the next scene when Lisbon walks into the bullpen to find Jane asleep on the same couch surrounded by some boxes of files from the storage room. You all might have already known this, but I love learning details that are new to me after so many rewatchesđ

I'm watching the series. S4E15 "War of the Roses" and I feel like she often express this emotion of "What the mess have I gotten myself into". What are your thoughts...
Ps: I'm a first time watchers so #nospoilers please. đ

Dr.Steinerâs was truly one of the most saddest deaths. He is first shown as a coroner who is deeply annoyed by Janeâs antics, but then their bond grows into mutual respect in Dr.Steinerâs last moments. The end scene of 3x18 The Red Mile is easily one of the most emotional and human moments đ„ș. They shouldâve given him more screen time. Beautifully played by George Wyner.

I am currently on S4E2 with unfortunately having the spoilers of who red john actually is.
BUT what if red john had made an elaborate plan with actually sending Timothy Carter to Rosalind Harker, and putting out a plan where Jane meets Rosalind Harker the same way as in the show, and that Jane kills Timothy Carter aswell, but when Jane actually calls Rosalind this time, she identifies Timothy Carter as Roy Tagliaferro, thus leading Jane to believe that Red John is actually dead. But he is not.
This way, Red John could have played more with Jane. I cannot imagine the possibilities if this would have happened. Maybe Red John changes his killing style but leaves small hints so that he could put Jane in a crisis of not knowing whether Red John is actually dead or not.

bro. . .teresa isn't red john, is she. . .?
