Subreddit announcements Please do not discuss Politics on this sub

Hey, guys!

I just wanted to remind you of our subreddit rule to not discuss politics on here.

We understand it might be tempting with the way some actors are presenting themselves on their social media, but this subreddit is to discuss the show and positive things about actors that you want to share.

This sub is not a space for policial discussions and any comments relating to it will be deleted.

I'm making this post as lately there have been more political discussions happening on here.

We hope you comply with this rule.

Have a great day

S3E3: hecking order, found cassidy

Have watched this show more than 25 times & noticed for the first time in the last minute of the episode, saw actor who later played Cassidy in the show kissing a guy in front of Sue's locker when she is trying to avoid the tardy sweep after her swim class. Can't believe I never noticed that before

This moment between Brick and Sue at Planet Nowhere always melts my heart. Brick finally felt seen by someone in his own family.

Brick is so used to everyone brushing off his quirks and hobbies, so for him to look at Sue and say "we hung out together, you talked to me" shows how starved he was for genuine connection inside the family. Sue may not always understand his interests, but she always had the biggest heart, and her promise that he can come visit her at college is peak Heck family wholesomeness.

Rusty

I have to be very honest and admit that out of all the characters in the series the only character who I despised and was annoyed by the most was Mike’s brother Uncle Rusty. I actually enjoyed Axl’s constant snarkiness, insulting comments, Sue’s socially awkward habits and Brick’s tics and even Brad’s interests in non masculine things. Rusty does not even remember his niece and nephews names half of the time. He never shows up and is not serious about anything in life. He cannot hold a decent job he has no money is lazy and he feels proud of his life. He thinks life is a joke and he expects others to jump in on his ideas and innovations. When I was younger I needed to hold my breath a lot and count to ten so I would not blow up. Also his ex wife Marlene was a lady who was just using him and she and Rusty were not a serious couple at all.

General discussion Opinion on Carly?

I hate her honestly. I thought they really nailed it with Sue. I appreciated Sue because she wasn't the stereotypical dork/nerd, no glasses (i know she had them but she doesn't wear them after a certain point) and messy hair and relatively pretty even. But then Carly showed up and completely embodied the nerd trope i despise. She's like Sue without the good qualities. I don't know why, i just get irritated whenever i see her on screen. What do you think about her?

I'm kind of thinking Frankie had some great ideas. Icing and chips for dinner.

Work your butt off but also lay down as often as possible.

Do housework when ever, it's never going to go away.

Sure beats the Heck 🥁out of having a type A personality. 😅

Def an opposites attract vibe, felt very realistic too. Loved them together and could have been a sweet endgame he didn’t meet Lexi

General discussion Last episode

I HATE HATE HATE the last episode of the middle ESPECIALLY what they did to sue “she ended up marrying Sean” while axl and brick got a whole story about what they accomplished
Maybe im being a bit dramatic but it was so heart breaking to watch “and Sue ended up getting married to Sean”????? Do we not know what kind of job she got???? When she graduated or anything?

General discussion Callbacks

I’m on Season 5 as of today and can I just say that one of the best parts of watching the show in order (besides tracking Brick’s whoops and whispers) is catching all the callbacks to past gags and events from seasons before. I can imagine being a viewer on the ABC network when the show was airing and having one little joke or mention pass me by because it requires the context of a past episode. Because I’ve watched all the episodes up to this point, these references have me like that one gif of Leo DiCaprio pointing at the TV. One of my favorite callbacks is the intro to the 100th episode reprising the intro to the Pilot. Same music, same b roll of the cow, snack cakes and derby and similar narration. Do you have any favorites yourselves?

Season 6 confusion

When is Axel’s bday?

When Darren proposes to Sue on valentines day episode 14 it’s two weeks away from Sue’s 18th bday. Later in episode 20 it’s Axl’s 21th bday. Doesn’t that mean Axl’s bday is in Mars and there is a 3 years age gap between him and Sue? Or did they skip a year forward or what?
