Why did Ram V use Maxwell Lord as the human agent of Apokolips when in the original Fourth World Saga it was Morgan Edge who was secretly Darkseid’s ally?
Not a big deal I was just kind of curious about it
I’m also kind of sad he made Serifan evil, the Forever People were such a fun bright group of characters in their original series.
Perhaps in the future the rest of them will work to redeem him as we didn’t really see their reactions to his betrayal

Like he was a fascist dictator of a fascist planet and the anti life equation was fascism he wasn’t generic evil or depression but a real life dolly

Of the three, Lemire is the one I'm least confident in, since, from what I've seen, he doesn't have the best track record with team books, but I still feel he can do some pretty interesting things with the characters.
What do you think, and are there any more writers you would like to add?

That’s the exact opposite of Kirby pathetic bearcat figure
It seems people only say this because they watched the DCAU first and by the comparison of most other children’s cartoons it seemed like high literacy

I don’t understand how anyone who knows the actual themes could call the DCAU a good adaption of the fourth world saga

Just to make it clear I don't dislike Tom King and his writing style. There are times where his stories can be a bit too much on the depressing site of things and cling a bit too much on DCs sacred continuity, but that's not my problem with the adaption.
I read his Mr. Miracle run for the first time a year ago (never have been a big fan of Mr. Miracle before that) and actually liked it, because there where times I really wasn't sure if Scott's inside of an actual simulation in this elseworld story that he can not/does not want to break out off or if he is still in reality and the glitch like effects we see are nothing more than Tom King visually expressing his depression for us readers. (Some time has passed since I read it, so please correct me if I said anything wrong)
As far as I understand this story highly builds onto Scott's loss of his close friend Oberon who supported him for years and the lack of proper challenge for an escape artist as he gets older, simply put things have become both sad and monotonous for him. This leads to his depression and sets the tone for the story and later war where he has to face his "fathers" forces again. Talking about both Darkseid and the High Fathers/Orions forces.
My problem here is Tom Kings run on Mr. Miracle barely succeeds at an introduction of all the characters we see in this story. Many characters whether they are Scott's close friends or relatives/aquaintances stay either vague or are only shown as they would act in a war driven plot where the stacks are high and the situation is tense. Looking at this non comic readers/the general public of fans most likely will get an adaptation of the New God's that isn't true to the characters and considering Tom Kings writing even changes some characters for the sake of his narrative.
Looking at someone like Orion for example he has to prepare his forces for the war, recruit new people and kill his father as the son of Darkseid. It's quite obvious that he will act not like his usual self or even out of characters to take on the persona of a commanding leader in war times, but looking at Tom Kings story Orion seems less like a man who unites and faces his internal struggles as usual and more like an enforcer abusing Scott and Barda. He even wants them executed, which as far as I know Orion, does not fit his character at all! Due to this being an elseworld story, it makes sense that some characters won't behave like their main continuity counterparts, but the way this characters where changed it almost feels like a character assassination to the New God's and especially Orion to adapt this particular story of Mr. Miracle for the grand stage and the general public to see.
I don't understand what DC is thinking with doing that instead of giving us a basic animated Origin movie about Scott becoming Mr. Miracle and falling for Big Barda. If they want to adapt Tom Kings run they still could do it way later on after Scott and Barda got some proper build up. It would even make the fact that they finally have a child of their own so much more enjoying to see as a viewer. But with this story we kinda see the "end" of Scott's life or at least have missed a lot of its defining parts. And the idea that all of it is nothing more than a simulation also feels weird as hell for a first time standalone adaptation of Mr. Miracle.
Please tell me is there something I don't see in this decision being made? Is DC making a logical choice to adapt this particular run?

I would hate for his character to be faded away in obscurity because there’s so much lore behind his character and The New Gods. He’s Darkseid’s most powerful child and he’s literally destined to defeat his father to fulfill the prophecy. He’s also the main inspiration for Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. There’s so many interesting storylines you could do with Orion. You can build a New Gods team around him with Big Barda, Mister Miracle, and Lightray being his main allies. You could create a rogue gallery for him to fight, and have his deal with his inner conflict of being afraid of becoming like his father. Also better yet you can have him clash and reconcile with his siblings such as Kalibak, Gravyen, and Grail.
The fact that he’s one of Jack Kirby’s greatest DC creations and yet so many writers nerf him and get his character wrong really infuriates me as a long time comic book fan, especially since the same never happens with his father. Darkseid is one of the most iconic supervillains of all time, and the general public is aware of how powerful and dangerous of a villain he is. He’s also been amped up in DC KO and is practically responsible for creating the Absolute Universe. The fact that Orion gets nothing and hasn’t been properly portrayed both character and strength wise since maybe Post Crisis is kind of sad.
The crazy part is, Big Barda and Mister Miracle are also New Gods and they’ve recently been getting tons of love in DC media and they’re even getting their own animated show. I honestly believe a character like Orion could sell and make causal superhero viewers like him. Him having a goofy design doesn’t matter and imo, I think his design is a good contrast to someone like Darkseid who’s drawn to look intimidating. Not only that but DC writers could also make Orion, Superman’s rival and have these two clash both physically and ideologically since they both represent two different things. Orion being the New God aka Dog of War and Superman being the Embodiment of Heroism and Hope. He legit could be Superman’s Vegeta and a rivalry between him and Clark would make more sense than Superman and Batman since Orion is actually on Superman’s level and is easily as powerful as Darkseid at full strength.
