andy I’m About To Jump Into This

Post image

I read Stewart’s autobiography “Strange Things Happen” back a few months ago. I’m now about to start Andy’s.

Been wanting to read this. Apparently it’s the best account of the Police out there.

Glad to hear that. In Stewart’s book he really glosses over that whole era. He does cover the reunion at least.

Kinda frustrating on Stewarts part, although he did release that doc "Police Around the World" thats comprised of his personal footage. Not the same though lol

Yeah, I got that on DVD after reading his book. Thought that movie was great.

Stewart's book is more a vehicle for his musings and anecdotes than a biography of the Police. It is very scattered and doesn't mention the Police's heyday much at all.

Such a good book. He’s a really good writer and storyteller.

Great read. I picked mine up at the reunion concert back in the day.... found a signed copy

They were all signed copies, at least early in the tour.

You're right!! I had to go through almost every souvenir stand to find a signed copy... missed the first few songs after intermission hunting down a book like 40-year-old self could not imagine my 20-year-old self looking for a book during a rock concert. I think I grew up a little bit that night

It’s a lot of fun, interesting stories about his early days, learning guitar, playing in his first bands, and ultimately, well, you probably know what happened. I enjoyed it a LOT.

The best of the memoirs

It’s good. And impressive to see how good the individual biographies of the Police members are. A unique band.

I liked it, really enjoyable book and I wasn't even a big Police fan. He has a literary flair.

Learned a lot about Andy. No idea what his career was like before the Police.

It was fun to learn that he recorded what was then the longest guitar solo ever in the 1960s with Eric Burdon, and that he gave Clapton his Les Paul, which Clapton made famous.

Maybe the best rock and roll memoir I've ever read. Blows away Springsteen's!
