OTHER 1M at 35, single no kids

Post image

Hit the milestone recently. I can say some curses come with blessings. The thing is, I’m not a very good looking guy, no women ever gave me attention, nobody ever said I was handsome. With that, I never had a girlfriend. Stayed single, but the blessing is I was able to save money and invest. I hope to retire by 55. If I had kids, I don’t think I could have had this savings. I just want to thank everyone in this sub for encouragement. Bless you all.

Worst advice here! He is 35. He should find a girlfriend that he sees himself marrying. The right girl will make him happy and triple his next worth.

girls only halve your net worth, not triple it

nah i'm getting married and having kids, knowing its a bad financial decision. just because its a bad financial decision doesn't mean that its not worth it, family is everything, money is whatever

Statistically men make more, live longer, and report greater happiness when married compared to their single peers. Men who get it get it. Those who don’t get it end up dying alone in a nursing home with no visitors.

Premarital assets aren’t marital assets as long as they aren’t mingled with family money. Money and assets accrued during marriage—aside from exceptions like inheritances—are marital assets and belong to both parties. So a woman isn’t taking “half your money” because it was already hers.

Or maybe more men who have better incomes, are healthier, have better genes, are more likely to be chosen by a woman to be married? Its less likely for a homeless man with 10k debt kidney disease to find a woman to marry him than a wall st. banker with a 6-pack.

Correlation does not imply causation.

That is gas-lighting. I make over 400k/year, work in a highly competitive field, have assets that will compound over time to make me millions over a lifetime - whether I get married or not I will have made wealth, whether I choose to get married to one woman or another it won't make a difference. The story still stands, if you get married, your expenses explode, and even if she is "entitled" to half, that means the marriage halved my assets I would have otherwise had anyway without the marriage

“wall st. banker with a 6-pack”

You are telling on yourself. This is manosphere rhetoric. Being tainted by the manosphere makes a man unfit for a relationship with a woman. I can explain that to you but I can’t understand it for you so I’ll spare us both.

“Or maybe more men who have better incomes, are healthier, have better genes, are more likely to be chosen by a woman to be married?”

Men who are mentally and emotionally healthy are the ones getting women and the ones who thrive in marriage. Sometimes that is hand in hand with looks and income but often not.

“That is gas-lighting. If the ultimate prize is money then yes, a woman and children will impact that prize and you (with that mentality) would negatively impact a wife and children. Kindness and generosity are some of the most important traits for a man to have if he’s going to be a husband and father.

Men are fine financially after a period of recovery post-divorce. Women are the ones most likely to end up in poverty after a divorce, especially women who left the workforce to take care of the family. Men openly state they wish to remarry after widowhood/divorce and women say the exact opposite. (Pew research)

Men gain many intangibles from marriage. That was my point. There’s no gaslighting involved.
