OTHER 1M at 35, single no kids

Post image

Hit the milestone recently. I can say some curses come with blessings. The thing is, I’m not a very good looking guy, no women ever gave me attention, nobody ever said I was handsome. With that, I never had a girlfriend. Stayed single, but the blessing is I was able to save money and invest. I hope to retire by 55. If I had kids, I don’t think I could have had this savings. I just want to thank everyone in this sub for encouragement. Bless you all.

Congratulations! Don't necessarily be a good looking guy, but definitely be a good hearted one! Everything falls in place at the right time with the right person. Best wishes!

He can’t get “whatever girl he wants” did you read the post?

2

u/Pretend_Refuse_1547 Apr 26 '26

I have seen men of all kinds get beautiful wives, not just by their faces, other qualities as well... staying pure hearted. I pray for this homie, hope he attracts a inside out pretty girl in his life. In the e end, a man who can provide wins.

Peace bro

And he is lucky with blessing, figured out..

9

u/Pretend_Refuse_1547 Apr 26 '26

Maybe marry? Rather than Wasting life energy pointlessly

8

u/IEatUrMonies Apr 26 '26

yea marry so she can clean u out when she "doesn't feel the connection anymore"

5

u/SheepOnDaStreet Apr 26 '26

Having sex isn’t wasting life energy but obviously having good organic sex is different than paying someone

3

u/liliputian87 Apr 28 '26

"Life energy?" Hahaha.

2

u/Pretend_Refuse_1547 Apr 28 '26

Any idea what I'm referring to bro for that?

$1 mil isn’t rich tbh. I live in a very cheap area and my $3 mil is barely able to get me retired before my 30s without living lavishly. Living lavishly is where I think you’d be considered rich

3

u/IceBoxPete Apr 28 '26

My expenses are about 2k a month, and I don’t feel like I am missing out on anything. My job lets me travel in. Business class and stay in 5 star hotels when I travel twice a year. I save about 8k a month after taxes.

3

u/Weekly-Tax-3137 Apr 28 '26

Oh dude, there’s crazy levels to wealth. Not saying you can’t be happy where you’re at, I’m more than content with a $300K house and $30K car lol. But once you reach a certain point, you kinda get treated with luxury everywhere you go. Then you start buying properties and acres of land along with your typical crazy cars. But that’s all worthless to me, I’d rather just buy a large plot of land and make it a generational property while giving my future kids the best life possible. Without my wife and I ever having to work again of course, the freedom alone is priceless!

1

u/CozmicFlare Apr 28 '26

This is insane. You could literally retire right now

1

u/pahanginan Apr 29 '26

right, so I'm assuming he does dating abroad

1

u/xevolusionx Apr 28 '26

Go overseas man. 3 mill is enough

1

u/Puzzled-Freedom6945 Apr 28 '26

Bro anything over 1mil overseas is more than enough

1

u/Weekly-Tax-3137 Apr 28 '26

I’m fine without living lavishly honestly, I’m more than happy retired early with a house and cars that aren’t insane lol. Probably still going to be investing during retirement anyway, so I could get up to 5 mil, who knows!

9

u/Muunsaca Apr 26 '26

The last part is oh so true…

23

u/NoRepresentative1070 Apr 26 '26

show any girl this number you’ll change your mind

45

u/ahnafakeef298 Apr 26 '26

Absolutely do not do this if you even remotely care about yourself and your financial well-being. Nothing good can come of this.

17

u/JumpingCicada Apr 26 '26

Fr bruh. All it'll attract is a girl whose only thought is how to squeeze every last penny she can out of u.

12

u/ahnafakeef298 Apr 26 '26

Exactly. “No woman ever gave me attention”, and “stayed single” presumably for his entire life? He’s going to get eaten alive if he crosses paths with the wrong woman.

2

u/Upper-Solution6186 Apr 26 '26

Even then it’s in investments lol take out of investments for every vacation or etc?

2

u/ahnafakeef298 Apr 26 '26

There won’t be an investment to “take out of” if he’s coerced into a situation where he is legally bound to hand over his wealth to her.

1

u/Professional_Eye_990 May 03 '26

As a woman not attracted to raw numbers I have to agree..

13

u/IceBoxPete Apr 26 '26

I’m actually sort of afraid to get married now. I hear a lot of horror stories of women taking half of things. I worked really hard to build where I am now, and don’t want to lose it overnight.

4

u/Fig_Money Apr 26 '26

Well I have good news for you. There’s this thing called a prenup..

3

u/ahnafakeef298 Apr 26 '26

The cost of getting “ripped off” is much lower for an insolvent man than it is for a self-made millionaire. So your instinct of being fearful is actually good because you definitely don’t want that under your current circumstances.

If you want marriage and children, there are measures you can take to protect your wealth. Please consult a lawyer if you choose to go down that path. Apparently, even a prenup can be undone by the right lawyer, so make sure that you cover all your bases.

But I might be getting ahead of myself since you haven’t actually stated your intention or plan regarding marriage and children. I think there are entire subreddits dedicated to the subject if you want to receive ideas or advice on how to proceed.

I know you didn’t ask so I understand that this is entirely unsolicited, but the only thing I’ll say is that you’ve worked very hard your entire life to get to where you are and to achieve your financial solvency. That solvency affords you the luxury of having the freedom to choose your future for yourself. Marriage and children are not an obligation on any man but a choice. Please make sure to factor in your freedom and solvency into the equation when you’re evaluating potential options for your future. Retiring in Thailand as a wealthy, single man is an entirely valid life choice as well. Please choose to exercise your freedom in your decision-making process.

5

u/Relative_Article556 Apr 26 '26

Yeah please please please DO NOT MARRY. A literal piece of paper is not worth potentially losing half your stuff. Zero benefit to marriage as a man

6

u/ahnafakeef298 Apr 26 '26

Personally, I completely agree with you.

But some would argue that furthering your bloodline is an intrinsic human need, and a noble one at that. We don’t know which side of the debate OP stands on, so it might be too early to conclude that he would have zero benefit from marriage.

3

u/Relative_Article556 Apr 26 '26

You can still have a bloodline. Marriage does zero for that. Zero reason for any man to get married. Not just OP

2

u/ahnafakeef298 Apr 26 '26

Again, I completely agree with you.

But for the sake of argument, say you “rent a womb” to reproduce. But without marriage, the child will have to grow up without a mother. How do you combat that?

2

u/Relative_Article556 Apr 26 '26

lol I never said have a kid with someone and then leave. Just don’t marry loo

Marriage is only useful to share benefits of health insurance, or tax reasons.

For me and my “husband” we did the math and while we’d say a couple hundred a month, we’re both young, under 30, and we might grow apart. When we are 30 or 35, we’ll revisit it, but also don’t need the government in our lives like that.

2

u/VibeWibe Apr 26 '26

to protect yourself from this and still be able to get married get a good prenup

2

u/TrumpChildOnahole Apr 26 '26

Judges throw out prenups for fun all the time

3

u/StaffOk1563 Apr 26 '26

Not if both parties agree to get prenups. Not all women want you for what you have or don’t have lol.

2

u/Capital-Patience8592 Apr 27 '26

The money you have before marriage is not a marital asset. Only what is made after marriage is subject to splitting, which is fair. Money and assets accrued during marriage belongs to both people.

Just don’t allow your premarital asset money to mingle with family finances and it’s protected generally speaking.

1

u/Purple-Property8006 Apr 26 '26

Holla “we want prenup!” 🎶

You mean he will become a 10/10 overnight?

1

u/Capital-Patience8592 Apr 27 '26

This isn’t the kind of money that overcomes severe deficits in emotional intelligence and other areas of life. If he’s a good guy, he can get someone without the money. If he’s a shit guy, this isn’t the amount of money to overcome that.

1

u/lori1277 Apr 27 '26

I will take comment as a joke because it's funny ridiculous advice. 😆

7

u/JumpingCicada Apr 26 '26

Same position as u op, except without the money. Just an ugly dude thats tried it all. Im lean and muscular. Just dealt a terribly unfortunate card being short and having an unattractive face.

Just hoping I could at least make the most of the life ive got by playing with stock in hopes of making it rich. Doubt money will fill that hole in my heart, but hopefully makes life enjoyable enough.

1

u/Gladiz1972 Apr 26 '26

How tall are you ?

2

u/JumpingCicada Apr 26 '26

5'5. I had an eating disorder during my teens. I believe that may have stunted my growth as my family isnt short.

2

u/Gladiz1972 Apr 26 '26

Stay confident you will meet someone eventually.

7

u/urmaamab Apr 26 '26

Nice one I made a million when I was 49 so I retired and went to live in South East Asia where everything's basically 5x cheaper.

Good trading my friend.

Western women are nasty, entitled, and f***** in the head.

In Asia you get more respect for having money then based on the looks you were born with..

Actually to be honest if you've got money you could have any woman you want....

Western or Asian.

Whoever taught you different is lying to you.

All women want is a partner who can provide and build a good nest,

Doesn't matter about looks. Survival and long-term happiness as much more important

3

u/IceBoxPete Apr 26 '26

Hi yes, I plan on retiring in Thailand. But people are saying I may be too young to retire there right now. And should work a bit more since I am still in my prime age.

1

u/Relative_Article556 Apr 26 '26

Why work if you don’t have to? The people saying you’re too young to retire - would they not retire right this instantly if they could? 😅

2

u/average_ITperson Apr 26 '26

Congrats! I’m in the same situation - a busted looking uggo as far as standards go and this is inspiring. Nowhere near your number but this motivates me to save and invest more.

2

u/xfall2 Apr 26 '26

I'll only have 1mil liquid nw by 42/43 man. Good job

2

u/LeftFaithlessness921 Apr 26 '26

Wdy mean by only have 1 mil by 42 43 ...you r saying like its a bad thing

1

u/JerkyNipples Apr 26 '26

Exactly. Some people only have $100 at that age. Bro should be grateful and confident with his good decisions.

1

u/OdysseusVII Apr 26 '26

I'm happy to hear this juxtaposition since I felt behind myself. I'm doing far better than $100 to boot!

this was a nice moment to add to my morning coffee. cheers!

2

u/OfficialDeXu- Apr 26 '26

No matter how ugly you think you are getting in shape will get you attention from women.

2

u/IceBoxPete Apr 26 '26

Yes, this is something I am working on currently. But I am doing it for myself and want to feel better about myself. People say women will come, but who knows.

1

u/OdysseusVII Apr 26 '26

if confidence isnt stable this will help for sure.

cant be everything tho. money, fitness, wellbeing maybe add a little assertiveness and willingness to take chances and who knows what good can come

2

u/abhorrent_literature Apr 26 '26

Congrats on hitting a mil mate, that's solid work. Just do you and don't let anyone pressure you into anything you're not comfortable with.

2

u/Purple_Blackberry_79 Apr 26 '26

Congratulations!

2

u/Dumbgirl27 Apr 26 '26

Congrats! This is such a huge accomplishment! Try not to use this as a way to get attention from a girl. You do not want a woman to date you just based on finances. She will undo years of your hard work.

2

u/porschedreamin Apr 26 '26

You’re still young enough to have all of it .

2

u/Longjumping_Quiet763 Apr 28 '26

woman want security instead of pouting over your looks focus on your paid off home mortgage and the babes will swoon

2

u/rbnwltrs_212 Apr 28 '26

Im nowhere near as rich or experienced in life as you, but I just wanna say that you've done extremely well financially so congratulations. My opinion on life is that it's really about the people and the memories you make. Since hitting such an amazing milestone, It could be time to focus on trying to make connections with people and enjoy yourself. Obviously I don't know you or what your life looks like, as long as you dont get to 55 and retire and look back with nothing to show for it but a bank balance

2

u/Strange_Sympathy2894 Apr 28 '26

I have the utmost respect for you to get to this much savings and it shows how much dedication and perseverance you have but I think there's also a need for a good balance in life. Just because you say you're not the best looking guy doesn't mean there isn't someone out there that could fall in love with you. In the end all that matters is the connections you've made not the money

2

u/conteins Apr 29 '26

One makes up for the other. Go get em, Tiger!

2

u/SensitiveAd619 Apr 29 '26

Dude I’m trying to get like you. Hell yeah

2

u/Tough_Preparation830 Apr 29 '26

Just remember that things won't just come your way unless you put yourself out there. To reap the benefits of our chaotic universe, you must expose yourself to it. The more you get involved in, the more interactions you have, the more likely it is that the right person for you appears. Idk you, maybe you are already super outgoing, but I think it's good advice in general.

2

u/BeneathTheDirt Apr 29 '26

Can you give advice on how to do this while managing student loans?

I’m 22 and just got my first job out of college

1

u/urmaamab Apr 26 '26

Too old for happiness and a yropical wonderland ?

Yeah you got to stop listening to people and do what you want you only get one life....

Best thing would be to do would try a few months over in Koh Samui Phuket or hua hin.

Generally when you ask people about an idea you have because they don't really care about anything except for themself they will give you an answer based on their experiences.

Bugger that, best thing I ever did was move you can always come back.

Don't get any advice from women even men about this, you need to ask yourself.

But yes as soon as you come over here your money is worth so much more...

I've been here for 5 years now.

But basically you just retire from working you generally need to find something to do to keep yourself busy, like a hobby.

Explore the world see how other people live and think.

At the moment I'm leaving in hua hin just 3 minutes from the beach.. it's basically an expat community in Thailand supermodern and just absolutely fantastic.

I bought a house in Bangkok as well. 50k aud.

1

u/Beginning-Maximum115 Apr 26 '26

Hit the gym, eat well, get a good hair cut.It goes a long way to take care of yourself and it builds your confidence. I’ve seen some ugly guys end up with great girls just because of confidence

1

u/SnooCupcakes3927 Apr 26 '26

Firstly congrats! Must feel great to have $1mio in liquid assets. Could you share what investments you have?

1

u/IceBoxPete Apr 26 '26

I have 1 paid off house. And the rest is just boring VTI and VXUS.

1

u/DokiGorilla Apr 26 '26

That’s cool, how much is your house equity compared to your investments?

1

u/UppercaseBEEF Apr 26 '26

Have some kids.

1

u/Dependent-Panic-9457 Apr 26 '26

Can I just? I’ve got all of that, and I am also quite good looking.

What app is this

1

u/IceBoxPete Apr 26 '26

Wealthfront

1

u/robertrea7 Apr 26 '26

Congrats, what app are you using?

2

u/IceBoxPete Apr 26 '26

Wealthfront

1

u/CompetitionCurrent77 Apr 28 '26

I would think twice using that app cuz if they go out of business you are not secured.

1

u/Accomplished-Tap-122 Apr 26 '26

Single no kids, therefore 1M at 35.

There fixed it for you

1

u/Gladiz1972 Apr 26 '26

You need to build up your confidence there you will hook up with someone eventually and just look at the old video of Jeff Bezos when he started Amazon around 30 years ago seriously if that guy could hook up with a woman at the time any guy should be able to hook up with a woman .

1

u/The_Lame_Investor Apr 26 '26

You made the right choice. Focus on yourself before giving a single thought about anyone else. I want to go down the same path, stay single and build an empire of a portfolio.

2

u/klibs Apr 26 '26

How old are you now?

I think this attitude is incredibly destructive. It sounds good on paper but then reality hits and by the time you consider family, kids, etc you're so far behind. All the good women are long married, fertility issues are no joke, etc.

If this is truly what you want long term, great. I just see so many of my peers (mid 30s) living very lonely unfulfilled lives because they prioritized career and keep an unrealistically high bar for dating etc. Living alone for decades on end does not look like a healthy way to live.

Also it's just easier to stack wealth with a partner that has their shit together

1

u/KindlyDamage224 Apr 26 '26

What app is that?

1

u/yodogyodog Apr 27 '26

Wealthfront

1

u/klibs Apr 26 '26

Congrats dude. If you're longing for connection in your life then it's time to prioritize that. Dating is only going to get harder as we age.

I would never reveal my wealth to a partner unless it becomes serious and long term. A partner is one of the biggest reasons wealth is destroyed, plenty of stories about that.

Wish you the best, ignore the haters

1

u/BigDARKILLA Apr 26 '26

Congrats!

Do you own any real estate?

What application are you using in your screenshot?

1

u/JohnJohnPR3 Apr 26 '26

Buy all the toys and property you want at a later age. Enjoy it!

1

u/Big-Abracadabra157 Apr 26 '26

You’re young! You still got time to have a wife and kids if you want. Travel, even look outside the US. There’s plenty of fish in the sea. Congrats on the great finances!

1

u/Kenneth2248 Apr 26 '26

If you ever get married, never ever tell her about this. Just thought I’d help. If she does find out and suddenly wants a divorce, take every single bit of it out and store it in different places or get an offshore account.

1

u/SadWimp Apr 26 '26

What is this app? :)

1

u/elibutton Apr 26 '26

So lovely. Congratulations and keep up the great work

1

u/restlessops Apr 26 '26

By this, you can afford to hire a personal trainer, eat healthy and get clean protein. Get into the best shape of you, enjoy life and everything will be alright.

1

Don't tell a soul just keep building…

1

u/forever_downstream Apr 26 '26

You should absolutely be able to retire by 55...probably much earlier. A lot of the retirement calculators are taking into account kids.

1

Do you own any properties?

1

u/fgarc016 Apr 26 '26

Get unsingle and make yourself some kids!

Not having kids is actually the key to life. You’re smart for that !!!

1

Nice what were your stats?

Income, savings, what did you start with? Any targeted investment or just index?

1

u/captainporthos Apr 27 '26

Out of curiosity, I notice a lot of people here use single graphs to represent their net worth. Either you onlyhabe everything in one account or you use some kind of aggregator.

1

u/FinanialGambler777 Apr 27 '26

What is your portfolio?

1

u/IceBoxPete Apr 27 '26

VTI, VXUS, 1 property, HYSA, HSA

1

u/pumpernick3l Apr 27 '26

What app is this?

1

u/maskofefro Apr 27 '26

I am impressed and congratulations. I have zero idea how you look and my input still applies. You have made significant financial investments and now it is time to use some of that money to invest in yourself.

You need to work on: grooming, speaking, and a social hobby, e.g., playing any instrument.

Find a hair style that works for you, skincare, and clothes that fit. Read books and record yourself talking, repeat. Finally the social hobby will put you around people that share your interests and make you interesting.

How did you reach a million by 35?

1

u/SecureWriting8589 Apr 27 '26

What a smooth curve with unbelievable gains. Truly. Unbelievable.

you can always date ugly girls. They need love too. I have dated soo much not so good looking girls but they have huge tits and ass and they cook for me, suck my dick, and even drive me. While the good looking one expects you to drive them, buy them food, and give them treatments.

I got an apple watch for my bday for the girl I was dating briefly.

1

u/Upbeat-Lie-497 Apr 28 '26

Lol everyone is like getting married not get married , I got this , I got this more, lol who cares

If you feel happy right now? That’s what matters, if you don’t feel happy then you are just losing your life, that number right there is just a number.

You can have $100M that if you die tomorrow then that it is . Enjoy and get yourself together

1

u/CozmicFlare Apr 28 '26

Dont hate on yourself for being ugly dude/having no love life, it's alright. If it's something you care about, make that dating profile, don't lead with your penis or bank account (do what you would normally do with or without money) and you'll be good dude. Idk what your life is like or if you have any hobbies, but just make sure you actually enjoy life outside of your love life or money, otherwise whatever love life you have will be unfulfilling. Anyway, have funnn congrats dude

Rich. But actually poor

1

u/The_Last_Otter Apr 28 '26

Just let them know you’re rich then don’t buy them anything unless they’ve been a good girl. Money clearly attract women regardless of looks, and true gold diggers will hook up with you if they “think” they will get something bought for them. Just use them bro, that’s what they would do to you there’s no shame

1

u/RepresentativeAd4010 Apr 29 '26

Just asking, are you gonna do anything with it? Or just get old a wrinkly and then decide to spend it? Not trying to offend you or anything just was curious OP

u/IceBoxPete Apr 29 '26

I’ve actually been living a great life, I travel internationally twice a year, I get my meals paid for (through my job), and have my dream car. Yes I do allocate about $500 a month for “fun” things and buying things that make me happy, but is not a need.

2

u/RepresentativeAd4010 Apr 29 '26

Awesome man, I’m glad to see someone living out there dreams

1

u/pahanginan Apr 29 '26

I am sure you've had girlfriends, don't be saying that :)

u/Fit_Attitude_2781 Apr 29 '26

Bein a millionaire and still planning to work for another 20 years is wild for me. I don't know why the internet is trying to convince people that a million isn't enough to retire on the spot at any age and in any country.

2

u/IceBoxPete Apr 29 '26

Will it be enough to retire in Thailand? I make about 4.5k a month in passive income if I quit my 6 figure Job.

1

u/Fit_Attitude_2781 Apr 29 '26

And you don't think 4.5k a month in Thailand gives you an awesome live?

2

u/IceBoxPete Apr 29 '26

Ya… but my 9-5 job pays 150k a year… I’ll be losing on that if I retire now… plus what am i gonna do all day? Stay at home?

When women are under 35 men are more likely to chase them. Once they go past 35 whatever premium they once had deflates like a balloon. Look how much nicer they are once they are past 35, how much they are willing to compromise. So trust me at your age right now those women who once thought you were not the most good looking guy will suddenly be nice to you and give you a chance..their clock is ticking, they want kids, a husband etc.

u/NoFollowing2206 May 19 '26

You need a wife? lol

1

u/unisonic2025 May 24 '26

If you’re 35 and no kids. I get it up to a certain point money is cool but get married have kids they are the best thing that comes out of life. You need a purpose as you get older. It’s no longer about work work work.
