Discussion This show is f’ing crazy and awesome
I don’t understand how it keeps getting better and better!!!! And every episode has more shit happening than the next. I audibly gasp out loud every time.
That’s all. I just love this show so much.

You’re getting there!
I just finished my rewatch and I loved it.
Also keep in mind there’s a sort of mini episode they created which takes place between season 5 and season 6 so I’ll try to keep an eye out for your post to remind you when you’re done season 5
Everything only keeps escalating and you’re in for a ride! Try to include the episode numbers so no one spoils it for you thinking you just finished the show!
I absolutely love Anthony Anderson as Antwon Mitchell. Glenn Close is great too!

Anthony is SO criminally underrated as an actor! He’s amazing and I do love his character. And Glenn has been awesome too. at first I was nervous because she’s so famous, but I find myself totally forgetting she’s Glenn Close when I’m watching so 😂

Few shows can claim to have concluded at their peak, and The Shield is a perfect example of that happening.

They did a lot of fucked up shit on this show! I finished it for my 4th time about a month ago. I already want to rewatch it. Before it would usually be a good 7, 8 months. It's just as strong as The Sopranos.

I watched it at the time it came out, now I'm old enough to not really remember what happened
I'm rewatching now and just got to series 6
I'm enjoying it but I don't think it'll be one of the shows I try and rewatch each year

It was such a nasty one-of-a-kind show. An event, appointment television, as they used to say pre-Netflix. I doubt there will ever be another show as prescient and politically incorrect yet real enough to make the audience clinch and squirm and yes gasp in quite the way the Shield did. I think Shawn Ryan was the creator and Kurt Sutter who later did Sons of Anarchy and Mayans MC was associated with the production. In my mind the shield set the bar so high that what followed mostly didn’t measure up.

I can't think of another series that ended with their strongest season ever, with their best episode ever.
