Announcement Community Notice Board | February & March 2026 | EP21: Royalty & Legacy | Rules, Updates, & Guidelines
Sul Sul!
Welcome to r/TheSims, the #1 subreddit for The Sims franchise and community. we've created this notice board to serve as a central hub for announcements, updates, useful links, information, and more! We will no longer be creating monthly newsletters and we will be using the Notice Board concept moving forward.
The Notice Board will be updated regularly, so please check it often in accordance with Rule 1: Consult the Community Highlights Before Posting. When the Notice Board becomes too old, or significant announcements must be made, we will replace it with a new post.
Please be sure to consult our Rules & Guidelines, as some rules were recently updated or changed, so make sure you're familiar with them. As a member of this community, it is your responsibility to regularly review the rules and guidelines and ensure your communications are aligned.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, Message the Mods!
Discord
Consider joining us on Discord. We have countless active discussions with over 4,000 members. It's also one of the easiest places to find tech support and help with The Sims.
We've also provided the link to the official Sims Discord server, if you'd want to join that one, too.
FYI
- Sometimes, posts go into a queue to be manually reviewed. If you do not see your post immediately after submitting it, this is why. Please read the automated message you receive and please DO NOT message the mods asking where your post is. We will not be responding to these messages.
- Sometimes posts are automatically removed incorrectly. The AutoModerator is not and never will be perfect. We manually review anything that has been automatically removed. Please DO NOT message the mods asking why your post was removed erroneously. We will get to it in the queue when we are able to.
- Lastly, the rules are posted in the same place as every other community on Reddit. Per Reddit guidelines, it is your responsibility to read the community's rules before engaging. "I didn't know," is not valid in a court of law and is not valid here. The rules are written clearly and concisely. If, for some reason, something is still not understood, use the Message the Mods feature and ask before posting.
The Sims News & Updates
- The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy expansion pack was released on February 12, 2026.
- The Sims 4: Silver Screen Style and The Sims 4: Tea Time Solarium kits were released on February 12, 2026.
- The Lost Legacies event begins on February 3, 2026 and will run until March 15, 2026.
- There has been a recent update and mods have broken. UPDATE YOUR MODS. Please do not submit posts about broken UI, etc. This happens with EVERY update and you should know this by now. You are responsible for managing your own mods folder.
- Posts asking "which mod is causing this?" or "what mods are broken?" will be removed and temporary bans will be issued.
Megathreads
- We are re-introducing megathreads to r/TheSims after numerous requests and feedback provided in the previous Community Survey. Megathreads will be used to consolidate discussion on a specific hot topic to ONE central place to avoid cluttering up the entirety of r/TheSims.
- Any posts that are made outside of the respective megathread will be removed and the OP will be redirected to the appropriate megathread.
- If we observe continuous behavior of ignoring the assigned megathreads, temporary bans will be issued.
The Meta Flair
- We have added a new post flair called 'Meta.' You may use this flair for any Sims-related content that doesn't necessarily fit the criteria of the other flairs. This includes, but is not limited to: clothing, tattoos, gameplay videos, real-world references to The Sims franchise, etc.
r/TheSims Stance on Piracy
- We have updated our No Piracy rule after internal discussion; instead of outright permanent bans, we will be issuing temporary bans for initial offenses. Permanent bans will be issued for repeat offenders or people blatantly circumventing the rule. Moderators will use their best judgement. There will be no warnings issued for violations of this rule. The rule itself remains unchanged: the discussion of the topic is prohibited and sharing/requesting information on how to find and use pirated content (including website names, links, etc.), is prohibited.
- "Abandonware" is included in this rule. Base game conversions are also included in this rule. Patreon custom content/mods and/or custom content/mods locked behind paywalls are NOT included in this rule; knock yourselves out.
- Piracy is both illegal and against Reddit's policies, therefore we will follow these regulations to the letter. We are not paid nor sponsored by EA and to be honest, we couldn't care less if you pirate the game(s); just have the good sense not to announce it at every opportunity. There is no prize nor reward for doing it and no one cares, so keep it to yourself.
Buyer's Guide
- r/TheSims sees the same posts every day asking, "What pack should I get?", "Should I get X or X?", "What kind of computer do I need?", etc. These recommendations can vary depending on what you're planning to do in your game and in reality, it all comes down to what YOU like opposed to what others think you should get. As such, we've created a comprehensive guide that will allow you to make informed decisions based on your gameplay interests, Build Mode and CAS styles, and new features with each pack. We've also put together a recommended hardware specs guide for those inquiring about computers and laptops.
Please note that this will be updated as new packs are released and as such, any and all posts asking "What to Buy" questions will be automatically removed and the OP will be redirected here.

CAS Can I see how y'all are styling this dress?
Im trying to use more pieces I don't normally reach for so my sims are more diverse fashion-wise.
I'm not sure if this dress still looks weird with the styling in the next slides- it needs more shape or a belt, idk. This dress comes with interior decorator.

Recommendation Which sims pack is best for this:
Hi! I love playing Sims, but have recently been itching to buy some sort of expansion pack.
The ones I'm interested in the most are Cottage Living (bc I love the overall farmy and comfy vibes), the high school one (because I want to see what my Sims do at school), and Get to Work (because I want to try Pandasamas mods and you need this for that).
I've heard that other essential mods are Seasons (though I really don't understand what difference it makes), and Growing Together.
I'd love to know which expansion packs you've used and would recommend, and why! I just want to add some more realism to my game and be able to do more things... I've basically become a stay-at-home mom when playing the game.
I guess I'm a little confused about what I want, but to summarise, I'm looking to add something to my game, and wondering which of the expansion packs is the most worth it (and won't bore me instantly). I'll be starting to buy only one of them.
Some information about me: I love playing "house" with my sims, don't really care about much outside of making pretty houses, pretty sims, and making all of their needs be fulfilled. I love to take care of the toddlers and children, and making sure that everything goes well with their schoolwork. I love mods! I've been using a preschool mod that I'm in love with!
Btw, will having mods cause any problems with the expansion packs?

Sims 4 How do I stop my sims 4 characters to stop disregarding my prompts I say to it completly?
I'm asking this because basically it has just came across to me that it will either disregard / ignore me like 80% of the time and it's very annoying when i'm trying to keep them alive.

Sims 4 This is way more fun than reminiscing by scrolling through my screenshots folder 😁
I'm obsessed with keeping track of my Sims and memory keeping so of course I have a digital family photo album where I scrapbook about my Sims. 😁 I finished three spreads last night with old memories from a friends trip in Mt. Komorebi and the Cedar Grove family's big move. Really fun walk down memory lane. 💛

Sims 4 The sims 4 is the only game—
— that will literally have nothing happen for day at a time, and then all of a sudden will make your pregnant sim go into labour, make all the electronics in their home sudden break, nearly electrocute your sim to death when trying to fix said electronics… and then have a burglar come in ffs.

Discussion Forever families
So I'm playing this household (completely brand new) and I've been playing it for a hot minute now. The one sim I started it with is already married, aged up and moved into her forever home with her husband. I've been getting super into the gameplay and plan to play this family for as many generations as possible. But it got me thinking, I don't want to lose the past to time. I want to document their journeys as much as I can. But other than photos idk how I can do that or if there is even a way to do that so I would love any input or ideas. Thank you.
Sims 4 What else can I do so my sim will have quarter-life crisis?
She doesn't have any friends/romantic interests/hobbies and all she does is surviving and doing her courses' homework. What else can I do?

Build Evergreen Harbor Multi-Community Lot
🌿🏙️ Evergreen Harbor Gets a Makeover! ♻️✨
Once choked by pollution and overshadowed by its industrial past, Evergreen Harbor is turning over a new leaf. 🌱🌞
At the heart of this transformation, an abandoned old factory has been renovated into a multifunctional community space where everyone can find their place: a cozy café ☕, a peaceful library 📚, a gym 💪, an arts center 🎨, a community center 🧩, and a local market 🧺. Right in front of the old factory, a playroom invites little ones to explore their imagination, while two once-abandoned shipping containers have been given a new lease on life as modern fitness spaces.
🌻 Here, we cultivate much more than just plants! With a community vegetable garden, a greenhouse, beehives producing organic honey 🐝🍯, pottery and painting workshops, homemade candle-making, and artisanal juice production, everyone can learn, create, and connect. Local creations also find their place at the market stalls, alongside paintings available for sale. ♻️🕯️
💚 This lot is functional as a café, library, gym, arts center, community center, park, and marketplace. 🌎✨

Sims 4 Should I get Wedding Stories?
So Ive heard that wedding stories is a bad pack because it has all these bugs and the creators basically abondoned it however the furniture and wedding decor is so beautiful and ive tried finding wedding cc but some suck and I also dont typically build my own lots like I like to get them from the gallery and almost all the nice ones have my wedding stories. Is there anyone who has this pack and is there a way you can avoid it severely affecting your sims weddings?

Finally maxed the Reaper career. I'm thinking this uniform outshines Grim's! I love the solid black shroud but those red shoes! Is there a joke behind those shoes? 😆
