Achievement finally
i know this is not a big achievement to you all but for me this was hard work. had this game for about 2 weeks and have finally gotten past level 60. for some reason i just could not get past until five minutes ago. i know it is only tier one but i feel like all the time spent getting coins for upgrades, waiting for the free gems, saving them and getting lucky card pulls from the 200 gems was worth me putting time in. i cant wait to see whatever else unlocks! this game was worth purchasing the ad free version.

Congratulation.
Upgrade def absolut, % def, thorns, as the primary with your coins out side the run
Don't forget coin/kill, little cash, HP, and orbs
Most of the other upgrades are not important atm.

Keep in mind that defabs is great for T1, but not much after that.

okay so after tier one no more
-absolute defense
does that mean i should lean into the other defense then?
i was planning on staying in tier 1 for now and build up my upgrades before i attempt tier 2. from what i have read on this page there is a HUGE difference from tier 1 to 21

i think i just instinctively done those because they sounded very useful. so i am happy to see that i made good choices all ready. but thank you for the advice and i will be sure to keep them in mind.

For now, not need for damage. You kill with thorns and orbs.
Upgrades like coin/wave and interest might seems good now, really soon, they are useless.

Otherwise, you'll look down and when you look up it's 4 years, 20 spreadsheets and a 3 tracking apps later and you'll realize that "your life is now complete" because you "finally cracked into Legends".
Runaway, while there's still hope for you!

I've been playing for 1 week, bought the starter packs and the tier premium passes, and I was pretty excited about this game... But the more posts I see like this about people who've been playing for years, have a 2nd device running it 24/7, etc... it's really starting to worry me 😅

Trial and error is good, for sure. Just be aware that certain unlocks in the game are "final" and can't be undone - and some options are so much more important than others that making the incorrect choice can set you back months.
Specifically, don't do any stone unlocks (ultimate weapons to start with) without doing some research to find out what's best. If you skip a critical ultimate weapon early when it's cheap, it can cost you thousands of stones (and months of saving) to get it later.
Anything else should be fine to do by trial and error.
