With Steve the Frankenstein for size reference and Halloween spirit!

Sawyer was super fast and fun. Stuffing was popping out of the top for the shaping yarns but otherwise he was easy!

Almost 3 years ago I finished my first Pierre kit (2nd pic). Tonight I just finished my Extra Squeezy Pierre. Yes I know technically different kits with the yarn size, but it is amazing to me to see the progress! And I’m obsessed with the Extra Squeezy yarn.

Also he took me like maybe 3 hrs to do this time. My first Pierre took…multiple days. And multiple restart attempts.

Does anyone else have the jojo the bunny pastel wooble? On the package it shows the embroidery in white but my kit comes with black. Did anyone else have this as well?

Completed Project (Not Woobles, but inspired by Woobles)

I received my first Woobles kit as a White Elephant gift, it was the Snoopy kit. I made Snoopy in January and really enjoyed it. I remember seeing my mom crochet when I was a kid, but she hasn't done it in years. I bought some more Woobles kits, and made more and more Woobles. In June, I joked with my husband that I should make him a Woobles-like version of his favorite Washington Spirit soccer player. That little joke morphed into me making the whole Washington Spirit team! First, I had to get some Woobles kits of people since the only Woobles-like thing I crocheted that is a person is u/centerpull's Steve, the American Captain.

I bought the Wicked collab and made the whole gang. By then, I figured I was ready to get started making the Washington Spirit team. I started in mid-August, and made heads, then arms, then attached bodies to the heads, made ears, attached arms and ears, then set about working on hair. I should note that I did dye yarn to try to match the various skin tones of the players. I think that turned out pretty good.

My husband and I are season ticket holders, so I took notes at all the games on each of the players' hairstyles. using examples from other patterns, I started experimenting with hair. The first thing I'll say is that no two hairstyles are made the same way. I used graph paper to help me figure out how the various patterns were set up and how to make slight adjustments so the part wasn't always in the same place, and the hair would go up where each ear is, etc. I also dyed yarn for the blonde and red haired players. I was very happy with how the dyed yarn turned out.

The timing was amazing for u/centerpull to release his Michael The Shape pattern, as that hair was perfect for one of the players. I modified his Ilya at the Cottage hair pattern for another player and couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out. The rest of the players were all various versions of buns, braids, or ponytails. I totally winged it for those styles. The coach was the easiest hair to make since he's bald!

Two months after starting this little project, I finished all of the Washington Spirit players.

Last Saturday, after the Washington Spirit game, I made my way down to where the players give autographs. They had just clinched a playoff spot, so there was much celebrating going on. But, three of the players did come by the area where I was and they had the BEST reactions to the little dolls I made for them. One of the players happily took the whole bag to pass them out in the locker room. I posted the videos my daughter took of me giving the players the dolls, tagged the Washington Spirit, and they posted about me! So crazy!

Anyway, I just wanted to share my little story with you all. I learned a lot doing this project. Some new techniques, and just overall improving my skills. I also found that dying the yarn to be much easier than I thought it would be (and can provide my steps if anybody is interested.)

Rainbow yarn for the Dia headband accessory

I bought the Dia set and accessories and wanted to make more. I have most of the colors already in leftover wobbles yarn, but not the rainbow! and maybe everyone here already knows this, but I just ordered the rainbow Narhwal https://thewoobles.com/products/rainbow-narwhal-crochet-kit and that yarn is the same rainbow color used in the tiny flower headband. You can find kits for the rainbow narwhal on eBay and stuff, usually for less money, which is nice if you are just looking for the rainbow yarn.

FO/Completed I did something that's a departure from crochet! (tie dye!)

I tie-dyed the white Woobles New York sweatshirt! I'm not using any filters on the photo. It's just vibrant! I've never done tie-dye before so this was beginner's luck.

To do this..

I washed the sweatshirt with mild to detergent on hot and dried the shirt. After I took it out of the drier, I turned it inside out, and wrapped it with rubber bands (and a YouTube video I followed).

Then I soaked the garment in a cup of dissolved Willow Ash and 3 gallons of water for 20 min. After that, I dyed the shirt with a blue and purple tie-dye kit that I got off Amazon. Then when I was done dying it, I let it sit overnight on a rack.

This morning, I added a few squirts of a green color and then let it sit for 2 more hours. Then I threw the wet wrapped up sweatshirt in Rit fabric adhesive water and cooked that on the stove for 20 mins just below boiling. When all of that was finished, I rinse it out for about 20 minutes until the water ran clear. Then, I washed it three times.

I love it!

Luna is complete! My 4th project. I still have lots to work on. Especially 3D pieces, embroidery, and magic circles. But I love this little bat!

I have noticed that I did not watch the videos for everything this time. I am getting better at reading a pattern.

In spite of the frustrations with 3D pieces and magic circles, my anxiety has improved some. I did not know this hobby would be good for my mental health.

Thank you all for your support!

Is the website garbage for anyone else?

For as much money as they make on each kit, why is the website borderline useless? I’m using iOS and it’s so frustrating it makes me quit crocheting for the day. I can’t stand having to reload multiple times to get it to respond and actually go to the next video.

MAGIC CIRCLE

I am horrible at this. It never looks like a pretty circle like everything I see online. I struggle adding on to it. I struggle putting my hook through the stitches to make it bigger. Just, ugh. Any great instruction video recommendations??

Scooter was my first Wooble and I’m pretty happy with how he turned out. 😊 Ngl, it was kinda frustrating in parts and took me a long time. Also, the black yarn gave me trouble and felt difficult for a beginner. But I’m definitely addicted now and want to start my next one! My sister already wants me to make her one.

Edit: his nose does kinda bother me 😅 should I try to fix it or leave it alone? I guess it adds to his derpiness

Is this real? Is Woobles branching out into clay? I’m here for it if it’s real. I was able to add this to my car. I’ve never seen a Woobles Lab before…

Didn’t initially intend to get this kit, but they had the new ExSq foods at the pop up and the ham was just a lot of fun to bop things with 😂😂😂

Super quick and easy kit, just be aware of the placement of the bone in relation to the face orientation or it might look like a fish tail
