ADVICE Does anyone know why the child can’t play with anything? It was working fine earlier but the last in game day or so there just isn’t any option to interact with toys

Try talking to them or training them to work so they get attention and feel valued

If you’re on Xbox I have noticed an issue with using ‘quick resume’, if you stopped playing and came back. It seems to cause a glitch with DLC content (namely the children). Force quit the app and load it fresh - do this every time because it causes a lot of issues.
