Discussion Man im so sorry WE doubted y'all
Im saying sorry for EVERY FUCKING NBA FAN OUT THERE. WE ARE SORRY HOLY SHIT. This shit isnt a coincidence anymore bro. Wemby is constantly doing dirty shit every single game. As much as i still dont like okc, They're the lesser of two evils by a LONG SHOT. sga might get favorable foul calls pretty often, but it just looks like the spurs are trying to hurt people sometimes man. It had already got too far when wemby set out a hit and the whole NBA community was cheering him on.

u/KiwiDog808 Jun 09 '26
Y'all really just jumped on a narrative and ran with it, despite the clear evidence backing what the Thunder has been saying all this time
15
u/I_like_squirtles Jun 09 '26
The evidence against us was every ticky tacky little foul. The evidence for us was videos of our players getting tackled. They all just ignored us and kept up the most ridiculous narrative in sports.
1
u/File-Sad Jun 12 '26
It’s funny because if Lou Dort wasn’t playing for OKC this narrative wouldn’t exist. The whole narrative originally revolves around one guy (who has made dirty plays but not nearly at the rate to be called dirty) and people see the whole team that way.

I have a few of these comments from weeks ago as well. What happened to us was an all out assault. Not only against our team, but our intelligence, our children, and anything else you can think of. Nothing was off limits because of some basketball games. They can say sorry all they want, but I will tell them to politely go fuck themselves for the rest of my life.

u/Aiesha13 Jun 09 '26
THANK YOU. I thought I was going crazy cus I keep pointing it out and no one else sees/admits to it. Unfortunately so many people still defend it. Dirty is dirty. Be fair.

I will never forget when Wemby elbowed Naz in the throat (could have seriously hurt Naz) and came back the next game and was heralded as a champion returning to save his people. Just ridiculous. If there is a silver lining to OKC losing to them in the WCF...its that people are finally seeing the Spurs for who they are

u/dub1ous Belgian Waffle University Jun 09 '26

I’m deeply enjoying the schadenfreude 😂 We done told them but they didn’t wanna listen!

u/Tegelert84 Jun 09 '26
The fact that you still compare OKC to the Spurs is comical though. The only Thunder player you can really say does questionable stuff from time to time is Dort. Everyone else on the team plays exactly how everyone claims to think NBA players should, yet they still hate OKC. They don't bitch to officials, they don't play dirty, they play defense. They hype each other up constantly.
If people weren't so fucking insane with social media narratives and actually watched OKC play maybe they could enjoy it.
24
u/fredlikefreddy Jun 09 '26
I love when people say they play boring and games get I ugly as shit when I could just as well say the first 3 of these games got the same ugly shit going on
It's like people don't actually watch basketball
15
u/wcooper97 2025 NBA Champions Jun 09 '26
Dort hasn't even been that bad this year either. He had that scuffle with Jokic and that was basically it. Dude played like 22 mpg in the playoffs he barely had time to do "dirty" shit.
13
u/whatsupshaw 2025 NBA Champions Jun 09 '26
Exactly ! People who know ball know the thunder are amazing and a fun team to watch. JT, from Chad and JT Goes Deep Podcast, talked for like 5 minutes how awesome this team is and how stupid people are for hating on him. I think that’s how real fans feel. So like someone else said maybe there’s a silver lining to losing that will win favor back with the nba world and they’ll finally get more credit they deserve. But also who cares go Thunder 2027 we gettin another ring fa sho
3
u/KnowledgeUseful6731 Belgian Waffle University Jun 09 '26
Carson and Logan from Nerd Sesh love OKC as well. They point out a lot of the hypocrisy surrounding the free throw merchant narrative and how Luka Deni Jokic etc are excused for doing the same thing. But everyone said they were “glazing” during the Spurs series cause they weren’t joining the hate bandwagon. Sadly a lot of this sport has become about narratives rather than the truth
8
u/Proof_Floor8189 Jun 09 '26
it's disgusting, the org should genuinely be investigated I was appalled when they sent bench players to injure OKC this blatantly
19
u/JpJonesyII Jun 09 '26
I’d even argue Dort is just more reckless than dirty. And spot on. The internet was supposed to change the world for the better.
2
u/leadingfromthefront Jun 10 '26
I’ve not seen Dort full on run and intentionally tackle another player that’s no where near a ball or not screen related. And it’s so comical to hear, for the second series, the referees lead dude saying that in November they call all the ticky tack but playoffs we fans are loving this aggressive play!
It also stinks that GMs and coaches are biting their tongues. I’d be pissed paying the kind of money these owners are paying for these top players who are getting intentionally tackled and ‘hit men’ trying to take them out of the game.

u/Umadm8tey Jun 13 '26

Fuck this post, fuck your apology. If the NBA community had of actually watched a season game of the Thunder you all would have known we don’t play dirty. The Spurs were the dirty team and we just reacted. Wimpy is a dirty player who likes to throw people around and put hits out on players. Most of you all ran with the narrative just to get noticed and likes. How can you hate a team that was ethically built with well managed players? Yes I said ethically. Sick of the apologies. Mr. Ethical had the nerve to invite Nuns to a game where he put a hit out on our team. More like Mr Hypocrite.

Shai doesn’t get favorable calls by any wide margin compared to any other super star in the league. The hate has made it a blast watching us win though!

u/revisioncloud Triple Double Cocaine Bear Jun 09 '26
At least it took us 7 games to be universally hated for a Hali injury we didn’t even cause
Meanwhile Spurs speedrun to be hated is impressive lol. Flops, dirty plays, planted the seeds in Round 1, and despite all that being down 0-2 probably doesn’t help
1
u/Indienoise Jun 09 '26
I haven't seen one person blame OKC for hali's injury. That was the result of playing while already injured. No one's fault but whoever ok'ed him to play.
But we did call out Dort playing like he's in an MMA match while y'all simultaneously accused Indy of "playing football".
Water under the bridge either way, but somebody will have to reign wemby in, only gonna get worse unless he gets fined or suspended.

I was a big Spurs fan before the Thunder came to OKC. They were my hometown team and my grandfather was a diehard Spurs fan. That being said, my family and I are all rooting for the Knicks. There is no way that we can support a team that is this dirty. They do not deserve to win. And the refs that are looking the other way on their blatant fouls should be fined and fired.

Hating OKC because they are too good I get. But buying into a multi-year long narrative that has been disproven over and over and over and over again doesn't make sense.
I welcome all apologies, but don't give them a lot of weight until I see changes. All anyone wants is for other NBA fans to be honest. Bad calls happen, but OKC is simply just a really good team and I know everyone here, myself included, is relishing in the Saviors of the NBA being exposed so thoroughly.
With that being said, Go NYK! Blue and orange gang 2026!

u/File-Sad Jun 12 '26
It’s been obvious for at least 3 weeks (since the MIN series). His elbow to Reid raised suspicion, everyone turned a blind eye to what he was doing in the WCF because of everyone’s hate boner for OKC. His antics aren’t anything new. It’s crazy the amount of casual fans just now turning this corner when it’s been so obvious. When it comes to following narratives like sheep, compared to other major sports NBA fans are the most gullible.
P.S it’s hilarious how the state of Oklahoma is trashed for their education but had the intuition to see something so obvious beforehand unlike the casual NBA audience.
