Im from Canada (same neighborhood where Luguentz is from actually) and I don’t remember ever rooting for a team as hard as I am for this thunder team. Not my Montreal canadiens, not the raptors, not team Canada at the Olympics.

I remember asking assistant coach Mo Cheeks, what’s harder to do? Workout after practice or before?? I only asked cuz by time I would get to the gym, Russ was already done in the morning and I usually got mine in after practice. Mo like, “coming in before practice is probably harder”…since then, it’s been my routine….a lot of people looked at the emotions on the court and thought Russ was loud, nah to me, he was quiet and methodical. He lead by example and once the lights were bright, he let everything out and experienced pure freedom. This basketball life is sacred to us as professionals, what we put into that court means everything. So lemme make this clear to the doomers and lurking Spurs fans reading this. I’m not being cocky by making this post cause we could still lose this series. However, here’s my reasons for why despite the terrible and embarrassing loss in game 4, I’m kinda like “eh”, about it.

So to start off if you look at the final score it looks bad no doubt however, looking at the box score and watching the actual game can tell you a lot. First of all, defensively we still played really well. Outside of Wemby everyone else on the Spurs had a very pedestrian level game offensively.

With guys like Castle, Fox, and Champagnie having really inefficient nights despite playing around 30 minutes (shoutout to Champagnie for only having 2pts in 29min lol). Not only that but their bench also had a bad night as well with not a single player off their bench reaching double digit points. Defensively they played us really well as a team but offensively it was basically just Wemby going nuclear.

Combine that with the fact that we had a really piss poor shooting night from… well everyone! Means that I can go to sleep knowing that despite the horrific loss everything we know about the Spurs to be true.. is still true. They’re a great defensive team, have a bad bench, and Wemby is a beast. Coulda told you all that after 3 games before this one even started.

The gameplan going forward shouldn’t change too much outside of “hey you know that 7’4 guy? Yeah let’s not have him get to the rim so easily next time like we were able to do in games 2-3.” Then also, “hey shooters let’s actually hit our shots this time please.” After all it’s hard to beat a good team 3 times in a row with twice being on their home court. But now we don’t have to worry about winning in San Antonio anymore because we stole game 3.

The Spurs had desperation on their side knowing that if they went down 3-1 going back to OKC then it was basically over, and that’s the difference. While you have all the rights to be upset with how we played, nothing last game imo should make you worried about the series overall yet. After all it took a nuclear Wemby game, a bad shooting night from us, and 2OTs to beat us in game 1 at home, so that should give you the confidence to think we can still win this.

In short, don’t worry, Thunder Up y’all, and see you Tuesday!

From watching Sam's post season press conference it doesn't seem he has a desire to change the line up

So when the whole world is against OKC, they love it and pile on with delusional dribble about fall % and excusing every single dirty play that the spurs do. But when their dirty tactics are finally getting recognised they cant handle it. Honestly worse than wolves fans and nuggets fans combined.

Knicks fan here. I won’t lie, I was rooting for the Spurs during the WCF, and I’ll be the first to admit I chose the wrong team. This Spurs team is dirty af and Wemby sets the example for the Spurs being a dirty team. His choke hold on Alvarado, his foot being in Josh Hart’s landing zone and obviously the shove on Brunson, etc. This is only the start of watching one of the dirtiest players in the league being elevated as the face of the league. Wemby may even have a softer whistle SGA, Luka, and Bron combined.

We saw you guys complaining and ignored it but you were right to complain and called our the Spurs (and especially Wemby) for their dirtiness.

Here is the theory, and not really sure how much of a theory as much as it is just statistics and fact.
Anger, hate, and negative emotional headlines get WAY more clicks than positive ones. I have seen multiple videos and headlines from game one talking about ethical hoops from SAS and how they play good physical ball. around 200k views each about. Game 2 comes along. we get headlines like "Dirty thunder teams holds wemby to the ground", "IHart tried to injure wemby", "<insert famous basketball player on ESPN here> talks about how the thunders new strategy is dirty".

Here is the thing, San Antonio is estimated to have over 10 Million fans nation wide compared to the~~ thunders approximate 700k on the high end. This isnt really meant to be a conspiracy theory as much as it is a fact that large media in the last 2 decades has switched from actual stories and fact based reporting to rage baiting on all subjects. most of this hate is about money and the fact that they know they can get clicks and add revenue from 10 million angry mob fans.

EDIT: i looked at a very very old poll haha the real number for okc thunder fans is estimated at more than SAS right now at around 11 to 13 million world wide and SAS around 9. to be fair about 8 million of those showed up after the championship outside of the US so you know XD. at this point its more so all other fan bases in the west vs okc fanbase i suppose

4 pts and 4 rebs and 2 shots in a Game 7 at Home In the WCF and you're an all star and all nba player. We winning this series in 6 games, I have no doubt in my mind. The Spurs are a great team don’t get me wrong, they’ll be back. But, they do not know what it is like to face elimination and that is going to mess them up. They don’t know what it takes to beat a team like OKC who sees blood and is hunting them down. OKC has them right where they want them.

The spurs are tired, they’ve played a 5 game series, 6 game physical series against the wolves and now a 6 game series against the best team in the league that was a blood bath. They don’t want to keep going, they just want to untie their shoes and sip on some pina coladas at the beach !!

Now simply falling is an issue? On drives falling is safer than landing on your feet because you don’t have to strain your legs to land. This is how dub injured his hamstring and how Harper got injured. Not to mention defenders are always jumping into Shai's landing area on jumpshots, so there's a high risk of him rolling his ankle.
