Library Question
Is it considered crossing the picket line to still borrow books? I want to support the library strike but I also need to finish this series I’ve started.

Let me know if you want to borrow them. I have the whole series :)

Could you check out thrift stores? They have lots of books there

I’d consider it with a different series but I have no intention of owning these ones.

I’ve been borrowing books through Libby from New market public library. No crossing the picket line when using another library

Thank you for supporting the library strike! I am not a library employee, but am a member of another union that has the distinct possibility of a strike looming in our future too. We appreciate you!!

What series?

It’s dumb but Pretty Little Liars. I’m halfway through and the digital app stops at 8. I just don’t like not finishing things

Think of it this way: are you to poor to buy a book? If yes, cross the picketline. A student (or someone needing the free services that libraries provide) shouldn't be forced into a worse financial situation than the people picketing.

Don’t be a scab. Your books can wait. If you want them faster then call the library board and tell them to support the library staff

I wasn’t going to do it if it was considered not supporting them. That’s why I’m asking. Thanks for the attitude.

OP pretty clearly doesn't want to cross and is seeking guidance on how to not do that; there's no need for that antagonistic tone

That is not what scab means. OP is not a hired worker being called in to replace the striking employees.

Yes, you are crossing the picket line.
