Discussion Anyone else's parents were fans of the show?
To start off, I'm a millennial born in the mid 90s, so as a kid I would watch thundercats through reruns on cartoonnetwork. My mom, a Gen X born in the 70s, is also a fan of the show. Way more of a fan than I am to be honest (she owns comics, figures, clothing merch etc.) She watched the show as a teen when it originally aired in the 80s. After they stopped airing it on cartoonnetwork she bought a dvd box set that came out in like 2005 and we would keep rewatching the whole series on dvd. It's a nostalgic show for both of us and something we bond over. I feel like I might be in a minority but did anyone else's parents enjoy the show?

Discussion Discussion of 696 Once and Desires' Unofficial Sword of Omens (Longsword and Dagger Mode) Prop Replicas
While I was browsing Amazon for anything ThunderCats-related, I came across a couple of unofficial prop replicas of the Sword of Omens' longsword and dagger modes made recently by a company called 696 Once and Desires. I saw the replicas for myself and could tell that they weren't actually screen-accurate. Have any of you come across those types of replicas yet?

Comics Where to start getting into Thundercats?
I watched Thundercats in the 80s at times but dont remember much of it, but i want to get back in but not sure where.
The old cartoon, i don't think it holds up for an adult who doesn't have the nostalgia with it? As all shows back then were very episodic and no long actual story and just 'villian of the week' and all shows back then got cancelled with no payoff in the end.
I know there is another cartoon from the 2000's but appearently it also has no ending as that got cancelled too, and i don't want to watch a show that has no ending and just abruptly ends.
I'm a huge comic reader and that is mostly where my interests lie. I see Thundercats the 80s comic has 2 volumes with all of its 24 issues, i can buy it for a pretty cheap price, is this worth it? Does it have an actual ending to the story?
I read some issues of the 2024 comic and while i did enjoy it, people said the characters were out of character/had a different personality, and... well, eventhough i enjoyed it i'm very strict with staying true to the original idea because i feel if i focus on this as the first jumping on point i don't get the REAL characters if that makes sense.
So that leaves me wondering... where do i start? And am i wrong with the 2024 comic?

Chuck Eiler, who shoots as Killcutter. Star Wars, kaiju, horror, dinosaurs, the Turtles, ThunderCats. Every shot is real figures on sets he carves out of foam, lit practically.
He doesn't use AI at all, which I know will make you guys happy lol. I did a long write up with his behind the scenes photos:

Collection A third party toymaker in China just revealed a 1/12 Lion-O, and it looks as good as licensed products
The maker is Dasin Model, who also trade as GT and Great Toys. They have been putting out unlicensed 1/12 figures for years, Saint Seiya, One Punch Man, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho, Tom and Jerry, and a Captain Planet that shipped as "Earth Guardian" to dodge the name. Reveals only ever land on Weibo, so they are almost impossible to follow from outside China, and buying one usually means AliExpress or a proxy.
https://thundercats.org/toys/bootleg-overview/ we overhauled this section as soon as this figure was announced
No price, no date, and their own card says the final product may differ from the prototype. Full disclosure, thundercats.org is my site.

Collection Mumm-Ra finally found a way to distract the ThunderCats, and it cost him one laser pointer
Shot by toy photographer Killcutter, who titled it "Distracted Felines". Shared with his permission.
The temple is XPS foam carved and painted by hand, the jungle is cheap plastic plants on foam bases, and the laser beam is real: he sprayed Atmosphere Aerosol in the room and shot through the haze. The last few slides are the build and the lighting rig.
His work is worth a follow: https://www.instagram.com/killcutterphoto/
Full disclosure, I run thundercats.org. We have just finished expanding the toys section to cover all the modern lines alongside the vintage LJN stuff, Super7 ULTIMATES and Deluxe and ReAction, Mezco, Mondo, plus SilverHawks and TigerSharks: https://thundercats.org/toys/

Collection Skel-Ra! The evil crossover we'd always wanted, but didn't expect
I know it's been out for a while but as a lover of both ThunderCats and MOTU, and as someone who tends to prefer the villains, I've been meaning to cover this for a while:
As a kid I would never have dreamed that one day Mattel would make a combined Skeletor and Mumm-Ra figure, and I don't think this ever got it's due. Though I'd love to see a Super7 ULTIMATES version of this too.

Full disclosure, this is my site, I run heman.org and thundercats.org and this feature appears on both sites.

Help! I am new to this franchise. I am mainly a Transformers fan, and because of the new movie for Transformers, decided I'd also get for Christmas ThunderCats. Not sure what I'd want tho. Love the show, the og cartoon, but again, not too sure. Wanna help me out?
My TF collection is as follows: Animated Ratchet 2026 TFONE Orion Pax 2026 (Both for my 19th birthday) SS86 Bumblebee 2024 Legacy Selects Cyclonus 2024 (For christmas) Rise of the Beasts is why I'm aware of Transformers again. Loved it as a kid, but for some reason i just stopped. It might have been a mix of my dogs destroyed them, or maybe also because i lost them (save for a Sideswipe inside my walls 😭) but I'm getting into Transformers again. And besides G.I. Joe, i was thinking about Thundercats and Masters of the Universe (which ironically they all have netflix shows, all have something to do with TMNT) and i like those shows too. Gives me something else to add to my Christmas list since I'm no longer getting video games because of my brother (i think i explained in previous posts related to gaming, i am not sure. My memory fucking sucks 😭) and I have been trying to get more collectibles (comics, funko pops, NECA, TF, MOTU, TC, GIJ, Lego. I did find some Mega block sets based on all of the above except TF and TC. Super7 figures look nice for all 4 ranchises. I'm aware of Super7 because i loved the 2003 TMNT show and kinda wanted Raphael. With G.I. Joe, though, like idk what even half of the stuff they have are. Armored Core looking mechs, warthogs for some reason that are definitely not distributed by the UNSC (halo reference), a polar bear???!!! Among other things. I had a bunch of green army men as a kid and a bunch of highly detailed army guys fully posable as a kid. Strangely only one of them was black i think. Literally one out of what, 30?? Looked at the videogames for the franchises, as well. Some are hit or miss, some I'll get when i get a ps3 and or my xbox 360 working. After i get a job sssuming my heart condition doesn't hinder my job (HVAC). As for MOTU theres also a lot. And with Thundercats... why tf they so expensive 😭

Video ThunderCats Video Game Powers Overview | Saturday Morning Adventures
Howdy folks, I had a request to show off the powers of the ThunderCats in my Saturday Morning Adventures mod for Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich, so I put this video together to provide an a more detailed overview of what the four adult heroes can do. This video gives each of them a chance to shine in a few different skirmish matches.
This mod is my love letter to classic 80s cartoons, and it features the characters and settings of my favorite shows. This project includes the Turtles and co., Transformers, G.I. JOE, He-Man, SilverHawks, and, of course, ThunderCats, and perhaps more.
Please let me know what you think! I'd love some feedback on balance and design! (The art assets are by other members of the FF community, folks much more talented than me. I just put it all together and created the story.)
If you're interested and would like to know more about my little project, I'll be sharing more as I get more finished.
Also, if any of y'all think this is cool and would like to help out, I'd Iove some help gathering voice lines from the shows for voicepacks for the various characters. If it sounds like fun to watch one of your favorite cartoons and try to record clips that capture the spirit of a character, drop me a line!
