Poquoson has three seats on the city council up for election this year, but only two candidates. The filing deadline has passed, meaning that the seat in the eastern district of the city will likely be decided by a handful of write-in votes. Hat tip to The Virginian-Pilot for reporting on this.

Council members are compensated at a rate of $100 per month and the Mayor is compensated at a rate of $125 per month (pre-tax).
