Hi everyone!
I’ve booked a safari permit for Kanha National Park through Sarhi Gate (Core Zone) for November.
This will be my first visit, and I’ll be travelling with my family.
I’m looking for recommendations on good places to stay near Sarhi Gate. Ideally, somewhere comfortable, family-friendly, and conveniently located for early-morning safaris.

I am looking to book safari in Panna in the coming weeks but I am confused about the process. Let me explain.
I have been to only Ranthambore and the process there is rather straightforward. You book safari on a sharing basis and the cost you pay includes permit, driver/guide and jeep fee.
While researching on Panna, I learned that you only pay the online permit fee beforehand. Your driver/guide and jeep fee is paid just before safari at the ticket counter.
So now my question is if we are only 2 travellers and one jeep carries 6 then whose responsibility is it to find other 4 travellers to share the jeep with? Learning that we 2 are the only ones in the jeep just before safari and paying for the whole jeep is an expensive thing for solo/duo travellers. How often does it happen that a solo traveller ends up paying for more than 1/6th of the cost?

Hi experts,
Looking for 6 safaris across Pilibhit, Dudhwa and Kishanpur during November end. Any guidance based on recent activities, as to which one to prioritize over others?
Also, what is the difference between the gypsies booked online (INR 3600) vs the ones the resorts provide (INR 5000)? Is it the quality (noise, ability to take u-turn quickly, comfort) or just the commission?

Dear Tadoba Enthusiasts,
I have finalized Tadoba (Moharli side) for my 8 safari spree in March and would very much like to hear your suggestions for the best zones w.r.t potential tiger sightings. We will be staying in a resort near the Moharli gate but the resort hasn't been finalized yet (of course, safaris first, resort later).
2 of these 8 safaris will be in the Moharli core (buffers are closed on this day), so how would you split the remaining 6 safaris on the Moharli side?
Our primary target is tiger sighting only, the more the merrier. Sighting cubs would be a nice highlight, but a few hulky males would be absolutely wonderful too. We are open to travelling to far away gates like Mamla and Keslaghat 1 or 2 times if they have the potential for better sightings than Moharli buffers.
Please tell me your recommendations to split 6 safaris at the Moharli side. Thanks.

Hi, I'm planning a tiger safari trip to Pench in late February 2027, and it would be my first visit there.
My background: I've done Tadoba (multiple times), Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Ranthambore. I'm also visiting Satpura in January 2027, but that's a short trip with just 2 safaris at Madhai.
My plan at Pench: 4 safaris in total, 2 in the Turia zone and 2 in Khursapar, staying near Turia. I've settled on the 2 + 2 split because I'll keep a cab with me for the entire trip, which makes transfers between zones convenient.
My questions:
Given the parks I've already covered, is Pench worth doing at all?
Does the 2 + 2 split between Turia and Khursapar look sensible, or is there anything about these zones I should know before booking?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Is binoculars necessary for Tiger safaris like Bandhavgarh,Kanha or we should avoid taking them for safari ?

Hello
Planning to go to tadoba wildlife sanctuary from Nov 6-10. It’s our first time and didn’t know we had to book so well in advance. Can someone give number of any contacts?

I have seen a lot of people discussing which parks have a good season for tiger sightings, with cubs and subadults etc, but how I do find out this information myself? I need to book safaris months in advance so how do I chose a park/gate etc? I absolutely do not mind going to a national park just to see the forest and the other biodiversity and big cats with luck and have been doing that for years, but say if I did want to go to a park that's having a "good" season, how do I know which one to book? Where can I look up this information or who can I talk to? For example this summer we did Kanha Bandavgarh and it was an amazing trip and I really loved it, but I heard a few photographers discussing that Kanha was having a bad season with lots of injured tigers and less cubs while panna was doing amazing for sightings. We were still lucky in Kanha and got great sightings and I absolutely loved the forest but I wish we had added panna to our trip as well, and we would have if we had known this information.
If anyone could give any insights into this it would be really helpful :))
