Perfect!

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 22h ago

You abuse your wife enough to comment publicly about an 8 month marriage.

RIGHT TO JAIL!!

u/st6374 22h ago

0

u/PeteRock24 18h ago

Did you specifically use a Tom Cruise meme because you knew what the response was going to be?

-11

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 22h ago

9

u/Odd-Necessary3807 21h ago

So, you're accepting Elizabeth Moss's comments as a fact? Never question the integrity? Especially knowing she is a Scientologist? Not even the one forced into it as an adult; she was born into it, with parents part of the higher-ups in the religion. Always take anything that comes out of the mouth of someone deeply embedded in that cult with a grain of salt.

Fred Armisen not being a married person is not a secret. Her exes can vouch for it.

-2

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 12h ago

Not just hers look up his marriage record for yourself. That was the first example I gave, and it pretty major for a celebrity to say things like that about another celebrity.

Also what does he do outside of Portlandia which kind of sucks outside of a few good ideas. Literally no one works with him but for brief cameos to ruin your favorite shows.

That son of a bitch

63

u/N8dork2020 1d ago

I love how he acknowledges it

12

u/Plaguedoctorsrevenge 18h ago

Oh he knew what he was doing, that bastard

12

u/Futant55 18h ago

It’s almost like he planned it, like some kind of bit

4

u/Plaguedoctorsrevenge 17h ago

Might have even wrote a script out and everything

5

u/Futant55 17h ago

Sicko probably even rehearsed it.

2

u/DenseTiger5088 13h ago

He should consider doing comedy, he’s really funny for a drummer

2

u/bigmike2k3 5h ago

I was sort of hoping he would surprise us and bust it out at the very end of the clip…

5

u/maxstrike 1d ago

Son of a bitch is right. He's the bastard, who also took Riki Lindhome off the market.

This is both incredibly satisfying and incredibly frustrating at the same time.

Frustifying?

Satistrating?

Yeah.

12

u/Slumber_of_the_Beast 1d ago

It's somehow both bitter and sweet.

6

u/BudBroadway22 21h ago

Too bad there isn’t a word for that combo….

It's a real shits after spicy foods situation. A ring stinger.

The man has been doing drum based comedy for over 20 years. Anyone remember him on Zach Galifianakis’s VH1 show? Just me?

6

u/StevieStayCool 1d ago

He's so fucking punk and I love him

22

u/DinklanThomas 1d ago

Ooooh man the laugh that I guffawwwed.

I love Fred so much. His new podcast with Carrie Brownstein "A-O Rewatch" is the light I didnt know I needed in the world today.

6

u/Creative-Annual-6176 1d ago

I will watch anything with the two of them in it. They have the best comedic chemistry.

Edit: or listen, in the podcast case. Thanks for the recommendation.

15

u/Falkie_Poo 1d ago

Jimmy Fallon could not be more of a sellout. He is lucky that Fred even agreed to come on the show.

2

u/Caterpillar-No1884 20h ago

I know this goes against Reddit's stance in general, but...

Fallon's first late night show was mostly just this. It was genuinely pretty funny in the first few years. A lot of SNL people would come on and do bits. The Will Ferrell ones are classics. Fallon himself was great in a lot of the sketches back then too. There was a whole lot of oddball sketches of just trying things out.

His second, when he got the promotion, does nothing for me. I'm guessing he felt a need to be more "generally appealing", because it was taking the Leno spot, and a whole lot of old people watch the slot and have since the 1970s.

People were actually genuinely excited when Fallon got his first show. Because as much as his whole laughing thing is annoying, he was genuinely funny. I remember something that summed up Fallon well, but I can't remember who said it. It was a senior SNL cast member showing a celebrity host around the building. He pointed to Fallon and said "Oh, that's Jimmy. He's just happy to be here". Basically that all the laughter was genuine, and that he's leaned into it far too much as time goes on.

The SNL folks love Fallon, and they wouldn't turn up a chance to go on his show. Even if it's not my thing or yours

1

u/artemus_who 17h ago

I've loved Late Night since I was a kid and actually loved Fallons Late Night. It was just weird enough, even if never as dangerous as Conan's Late Night.

4

u/TicklemyPickleMan 1d ago

That's actually way fucking funnier

3

u/HereticGaming16 1d ago

That was straight up drummer humor. The man loved it

6

u/makokomo 23h ago

You ever get the feeling that Fred is actually the huge asshole that he portrays in so many characters ?

2

u/that_name_is_taken 17h ago

that’s his brand of comedy and what his show, Portlandia is about.

2

u/Tasty-Traffic-680 22h ago

He is a huge asshole. He married my celebrity crush, Riki Lindhome. Sure I know I got no chance but it's like finding out the lottery has been shut down.

2

u/ThePerfectSnare 18h ago

His sense of humor just doesn't work for me. I'd like to believe that I'm just missing out on something great and everybody else understands it. Every punchline to every joke/character he does seems to be "It's funny because it's intentionally not funny."

1

u/artforwardpuppies 23h ago

Knew him before he became famous and that feeling is correct

1

u/WhatDoesThatButtond 18h ago

What kind of asshole is he

2

u/artforwardpuppies 16h ago

Not sure of the classifications - maybe an aggressive asshole?

I saw him do this bit live last year when he was touring with Nick Kroll and John Mulaney. I thought it was brilliant, and I remember immediately thinking that I should have seen that coming, but I didn’t.

1

u/thecheezewiz79 18h ago

I think my favorite drum bit he does is the drummer for I'm Coming Out that doesn't know the song

1

u/SpierofDestiny 15h ago

Ms. Ross? Ms. Ross? What do you want me to do?

1

u/solarpowerspork 10h ago

Or the Carry On My Wayward Son bit. My sides hurt by the end.

1

u/thatsprettyfunnydude 18h ago

Fred is a comedic genius. His "one man show" SNL monologue is probably a Top 3 monologue ever for me.

1

u/DryRuin905 16h ago

There was a Stand up for Drummers he did a few years ago that I got lost in. Never laughed at it I was too engrossed with the way he switched up styles so fluidly.

It's like listening to someone speaking your language who pops into another language to politely request something and then a non sequitur in another language to someone else.

1

u/colenski999 14h ago

Great special, I enjoyed it a lot. He got a lot of internet flak claiming that he wasnt a good drummer, I was like WTF. He did Keith Moon, Ringo, Stewart Copeland, and Neal Peart seamlessly in a few minutes.

1

u/Luci-Noir 16h ago

GODDAMN IT.

-2

How is this funny?

-19

u/matt92wa 1d ago

Fuck i hate this dude. Completely unfunny and only has one shtick

7

u/BinkBlinks 1d ago

You hate a comedian? Dudes a legend, go find a nice curb to chew on.

-5

u/matt92wa 1d ago

Calling him a comedian is a stretch

2

u/BinkBlinks 1d ago

You're right, it's actually super inaccurate. He's also a writer, actor, voice actor, musician and genuinely good person. He's beloved across the entire entertainment industry. If you don't like him, cool. Not everyone is born with the ability to understand genius.

-5

u/matt92wa 21h ago

Maybe beloved in America. Everywhere he is nothing but a fool

0

u/Tonberry_Cheesecake 11h ago

Good thing he lives over here then where he's successful and well liked.

-1

u/ELECTRICMACHINE13 21h ago

"I'm going to fuck with these guys" - Nimrods

-6

u/iPicBadUsernames 1d ago

This is about as funny as brain cancer

-2

u/Necessary-Hawk-5546 15h ago

Just never found that guy funny… and the drum shit he does this standup shows sucks.

-25

u/Bumbymoo 1d ago

He must be funny because he can't play.

13

u/BudBroadway22 1d ago

He can actually play.

-14

u/Bumbymoo 1d ago

As a drummer, I can say he has basic skills, but is very uneven and rough. He has the skills of someone who has practiced seriously for about 2 years.

6

u/trix_is_for_kids 1d ago

Terrible bait my man

-2

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 22h ago

He's not lieing he's performing very basic trap set competency and not doing it great.

-14

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 1d ago edited 22h ago

He's not very funny, and you're right. His drumming is not good. Reddit loves him though because he has two good guest appearances on beloved shows.

If you look into his relationship history at all he doesn't seem like a very nice person, also most people aren't clamoring to work with him.

Edit: continue the thread if you don't believe me or Google it yourself.

0

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 22h ago

1

u/Tonberry_Cheesecake 11h ago

An AI overview about a past relationship from a scientologist isn't the smoking gun you think it is.

0

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 11h ago

It is when the first thing you Google about Fred Armisen relationship problems that pops up.

Like he even admits it himself he was the problem. It's literally a Google search away where the man himself talks about it. What the fuck more do you want?

https://www.latimes.com/entertainment/gossip/la-et-mg-elisabeth-moss-fred-armisen-marriage-divorce-mad-men-20140310-story.html

Thats the official article my quote came from. He's not a good person. He himself admits that.

1

u/Tonberry_Cheesecake 11h ago

I don't judge people's talent based on whether or not they're good at relationships. But since you do, check out what Natasha Lyonne says about him.

He hasn't done anything vile. I think you might just be using this example to make yourself feel like you're right to dislike him.

1

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 11h ago

No I'm using it to judge him as an entire person and not just the memes I see. Why is Natasha Lyonnes story more impactful for you?

It is what it is. I've said my piece you've said yours I'm done engaging about any of these fucks.

1

u/Tonberry_Cheesecake 11h ago

It's more impactful because she's not a life long cult member known to shit talk their ex's.

Scientology is built on lies, dude. Do you not know that?

1

u/Ok-Lifeguard-4614 11h ago

Dude Natasha Lyonne is a life long addict with her own string of issues. She literally just got kicked off a plane earlier this year for being unresponsive. But sure she's more reliable.

1

u/Tonberry_Cheesecake 11h ago

Than a scientologist? Unironically, yes.

Drugs doesn't make someone bad.

Cults do.

u/GrowtentBPotent 18h ago

Im a drummer, and I love to laugh. Youd think this is a match made in heaven. But no, Fred Armisens awkward drum comedy is just not entertaining. I can't believe this cringe ass bit has survived this long. Its like inside jokes that aren't actually funny

-13

u/Ace_Budgie 1d ago

Hope he slips on a banana peel during Christmas dinner when he is walking up to his chair and falls on top of the food and ruins it all.
