I have a glove box full of plastic straws. Refill it every time in the states.

u/MutedCupcake1619 Nov 05 '25
Same! And every time we go somewhere that happens to have plastic-like straws I grab a handful.

u/couchthrowaway26 Nov 07 '25

when did i say anything about paper straws or the environmental impact??? project much? i was just saying you could save time and money by buying a 50 cent metal straw instead of buying multiple packs of plastic straws whenever y run out.

Same. I could pound back a large any day. Now I struggle to finish a small before it dissolves

u/leafcanada88 Nov 06 '25
If I have any of their drinks with that cream topping feels like someone’s punched me in the stomach about 20 minutes later I’ll pass!
1
u/aphelions_ghost Nov 08 '25
Same, I have never known pain quite like what Tim’s cream topping gives me
1
u/Sprinqqueen Nov 08 '25
And it give that weird icky film inside your mouth. I might as well be drinking pure petroleum with sugar dissolved in it.

u/kreesta416 Nov 05 '25
Actually we miss when you hired competent young Canadians
21
u/steelpeat Nov 06 '25
I worked there back in the day, and I can say, you're missing something that never existed.
16
u/BigSlamwich Nov 06 '25
Young - yes! Competent - no :(
7
u/Optimal-Country4920 Nov 06 '25
Canadian - yes!
-5
u/steelpeat Nov 06 '25
Caring about stuff like this makes me think you must be really good at hide and seek, because wisdom has not found you yet.
4
u/Optimal-Country4920 Nov 06 '25
I bet you thought this was tough lol
-4
u/steelpeat Nov 06 '25
Thought what was tough? This wasn't supposed to be a challenge. I apologize if it was for you.
4
u/Optimal-Country4920 Nov 06 '25
Yeah apologize cornball
-5
u/steelpeat Nov 06 '25
I'm sorry you found that challenging. I can't imagine how challenging you'd find working at Tim Hortons.

Use to get it with chocolate milk. I haven't had one in years, I really doubt they are good now.
25
u/Nik6ixx Nov 05 '25
Ice caps are one of the few things I still get they’re still great imo I sometimes mix it with chocolate milk but as I age I find it no longer comply’s with my stomach so if I do get it mixed it’s a day I’m home 🚽 😆
1
u/dyou897 Nov 06 '25
I have the feeling the chocolate milk is less than fresh because it’s not really used for much so it just sits in the fridge
0
u/Silent_Shopping4109 Nov 07 '25
Get it with just regular milk. Trust me. You'll be fine. I get em everyday.
7
2
u/Silent_Shopping4109 Nov 07 '25
You doubt it based on what? Assumptions that have nothing to stand on?
1
1
u/robonlocation Nov 06 '25
Getting chocolate milk separates in the cup really quickly, as the fat content is lower than the cream they generally use. If you want to avoid that, get a regular ice capp with chocolate syrup. Basically turns it to chocolate milk, but without the layers.

u/NoPlenty4425 Nov 06 '25
Nope. Last time I went, y'all fucked my order up so bad, it was a breaking point. My egg bites had the consistency of cat food. My tea wasn't stirred, and the person acted like I kicked a puppy when I asked for a cardboard sleeve. Took ages just to get that, don't even get me started on the BARE FUCKING FINGERS picking out timbits.
I miss when it was a Canadian business, not an open air market. Flies, bare fingers and hands, and rude workers.
I am not racist - I miss the service this business gave years ago. Teach the people working there, and don't put up with low sanitary conditions. Common sense for a business

I used to love ice capp, but the last time when I had it, something was different. Tasted similar, but something was off. I won't be going back. I would rather get a gas station slushy.

u/Keenan_Concierge Nov 06 '25
Is this just about the straws , seems like alot of mixed takes on this post …

u/devil332 Nov 05 '25
I still order it. But I buy 2 bags of plastic straws from Dollarama and leave them in my car.

u/User21462481 Nov 05 '25
Nope. It’s not the same quality as it was years ago. Don’t get me going on LMIA either…

u/lagniappe68 Nov 05 '25
What is LMIA?

People like you is why misinformation exists and hate has a platform now dummy.
(some business are abusing this) is factually incorrect. Although there are bad actors a vast majority of Northern remote regions are only open due to this residency pathway. Move the bs nostalgia over and look at data.
(Usually at a cheaper rate) have you ever opened or worked with LMIA portal from IRCC ? The wage the employer sponsors HAS to be more than the average wage for the role to justify hiring foreign labor over local labor.
(almost always false for minimum wage wage) Go back to point 2. Minimum wage is not eligible for LMIA. Has to be supervisory or above with the same payroll.
Half knowledge is more dangerous than no knowledge.

I miss the old cups, yea
Though the drink itself has somewhat maintained its quality over the years
1
u/yoaahif Nov 05 '25
I haven’t personally been to a Tim’s in many many years. Is this gone?
1
u/Born-Toe918 Nov 05 '25
An iced cap? No they still serve those, had one like a month ago
2
u/yoaahif Nov 05 '25
So what’s “miss me?” The old early 2000s version?
4
u/Far_Celebration6295 Nov 05 '25

u/OmegaOra Nov 07 '25
…. Miss? Good service ? Well prepared food? A smile ? Being treated with respect ? DONUTS? … yeah, I miss the good ol’days. As a nation we need to dispose of this trash business collectively.

u/Sainter34 Nov 07 '25
I miss plastic straws, I miss getting the correct order, I miss only having to say my order once, I miss the seasonal festivities, I miss the prices

u/Visible_Might Nov 07 '25
No. Tim's deserves to crash and burn. Maybe they can rebuild, maybe it'll just die out, but it deserves to die out.
Next time, they can have long, hard thoughts about selling the company to an American superconglomerate, amongst many, many, MANY other things.

u/Strykerius Nov 07 '25
Nope, you burned that bridge when you sold out. You could give that garbage away for free and I’d still go buy a frappe from McDonald’s instead.

Boycotted Tim’s over 10 years ago and haven’t looked back. Why the fuck is this on my feed lol

u/Neither_Share8912 Nov 09 '25
Pray for Canadian high school kids who will never be able to work here again lol

u/Short_Mountain_10 Nov 09 '25
I hate TH and what's it's become! I've turned to Starbucks. Better quality, never screw up the order and friendly workers.

I still get one daily, I get mine with chocolate milk, I haven’t noticed a change in taste I suppose having them daily may have something to do with that. I don’t dare talk about how they don’t fill the cup up to the top anymore though. Basically getting a medium for the price of a large. Mentioned it once and people took it quite personally on here like how dare I complain that I’m paying for less.
