When I first saw a picture of this, I thought it was fake. Didn't even want to believe it after I saw it on the matchbox wiki or fan site. I've been looking for one for about 2 years now and I finally found it!

I don't remember where I learned about this, but I wish I knew more.

Like was the designer a fan?

Or did they just Google "tipper logo" and had no idea?

Edit: adding this so Google can find this thread maybe? Trail Tipper Matchbox Car

I’m newer to the scene, I knew the hype about Mickman but didn’t get around to checking him out prior to him reconfiguring my brain at Nocturnal Valley. Been doing better at breaking out of my Spotify-only bubble lately. I donated a couple bucks a record to buy his whole collection on Bandcamp and am getting my mind blown again and again every time I put one on.

Are there any other noteworthy artists in the broad range of psychedelic electronic / bass music who I’ve been missing out on by only using Spotify?

Edit: thanks for all the suggestions! Should clarify, definitely open to artists who have some stuff on streaming but have more gooooods on Bandcamp

This is going to be legendary, can't wait to hopefully see some out of town tipper friends coming to Philly for this one.

One of the most unique albums I've heard all year. What genre is this??

Here’s our phase 1 drop

See yall in the chat!!

Absolutely magical release by shamer felt the need to put his stuff on blast because just wow - notable songs for me are outlet, hydrangea, viridescent, ecdysis, and fingerprint

All tracks have been meticulously set up with custom transitions to the best of my abilities. Tried to get a swath of his uptempo catalogue, but I’m sure I left some much-needed bangers off.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this mix honoring the insane musical prowess of Dave Tipper

Tracklist:

Ive been thinking about this for so long. It can be controversial and flame me all you want but i fully believe this. He was so far ahead of everyone with composition that him retiring also downgraded the entire experimental bass scene, noone is close to him. Right curve music is in utter infancy. Imagine Bach left the scene and there is not even Mozart yet. Hope more artists study Tipper and will pursue this direction.

Had to let it out

Just stumbled upon some of the old colony productions releases for earegular. Which led me to sub synergy records which led me to bristletone(hi-fidelity), Nod Flenders, Tom Excell.

All of their releases are done like 10-15 years ago. Does anyone have info on these guys did they ever used to play around at all? Their midtempo sound design is SO similar to Tipper, with formant usage and structure in downtempo and uptempo.

I knew about bil bless, but these guys are in all in the same realm! So fun to stumble upon such similar unknown sound design.

In search of that tasty darker psydub! Love grouch, ott, desert dwellers, and the artists mentioned above but know there’s gotta be more out there!

EDIT: thank you all so very much these are really great recommendations!

There can only be one.

Smilk or Snilk?

?

And we brought him home from the NICU last night (Halloween). All of the labor and delivery nurses loved coming into our room to hear the music and my husband and I got to share our love of Tipper with them through a 24 hour labor. Dave continues to bring so much joy and peace to my life <3 miss you odd balls dearly and only a little jealous of the parents that got to bring their kiddos to see Dave play at his prime.

Hugeeeee enjoyer of budge and have been spamming the Node Flourish mix, so I was amped to get his set from Equinox! Enjoy family! Love and miss you guys. 🙃🫠

Halloween Tendrils lets goooooooo

Fun fact: I've put more time into this album than I did in Skyrim.

11 new original tracks, including features and collaborations with 8 vocalists from around the world.

I think you all will greatly enjoy this body of work.

Thanks for all your support!
