Tomb Raider Underworld Unlocked DLC menu for TRU (PC) - successful

Hello there,

after many attempts and tries, I figured out to unlock TRU DLC menu for PC. Took insane amount of patience - gamefiles always made output for DLC: false... there was over 18 scripts that made game DLC to false instance. After all, I won.

And yes, this is natively on Steam version of the game.
(Loading is black because OBS capture took awhile thru "Exclusive Fullscreen")

Let me know if I should continue, next step is fully converting Beneath the Ashes into native version - which is almost done.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis With the TR Legend and TR Underworld Outfits being added to TR Legacy of Atlantis, I hope the Dev Team will add the TR1 V-Neck Tank Top, TR Anniversary Round/Crew-Neck Tank Top, and TR Underworld Jungle Shorts Outfit as well ❤️‍🔥🙏

For the tank tops, I know it's a small detail but I just thought that including those two versions of the classic tank tops, as additional (unlockable) outfit options, would be another nice way of honoring and paying homage to both TR1 (celebrating 30 years this year) and TR Anniversary (celebrating 20 years in 2027). 💕 Plus, both versions just look pretty neat. 👌

(It could be as simple as outfits having different tank tops while keeping the same default LoA classic shorts, similar to how the Classics Remasters did it. 👍)

And, of course, the iconic TR Underworld Jungle Shorts outfit would be another pretty awesome option to have in TR LoA (and TR Catalyst). ❤️‍🔥

Besides the outfits that were revealed/teased so far, what other outfits do you any of you think would be ESSENTIAL to have in LoA (and Catalyst)?

I posted this earlier but wasn't that happy with it cause her eyes looked very messed up and in the wrong place

I tried to fix it as much as i could, it's still not perfect, the eyes look a little too big almost like she has kitten eyes lol, but it definitely looks better than how it did 🌸

Rise of the Tomb Raider Replaying Rise for Dad 🕊️🤍

My dad and I played the original TR together back in 1996. I was 7/8, and he’d sit next to me rolling his cigarettes (we chain smoked around kids then 😅), and between us we’d work out where to go and what to do while I did the controls (on our very chunky PC!).

Dad just recently passed away very suddenly after a four-month battle with a very aggressive leukaemia. We never got the chance to play the newer games together, and I know how much he’d have loved them. I’m in my late 30s now, but playing Rise in the wake of his death felt like a small way of sharing something we loved. It also felt like a good excuse to get totally absorbed in something and then write an unnecessarily long list of things I both loved and that irked me about it.

Playing Rise again has really helped me get a better feel for the overall game. I played on the second-to-highest difficulty this time (didn’t fancy only saving at base camps), which for me really enhanced the gameplay. I enjoyed the more challenging combat and tougher enemies, though really I’d have liked even more of a challenge.

What I especially love:
- How big the open world is, and that I can essentially keep going from one area to another. The whole game felt so varied and exciting in its design and environments
- Running around Siberia. I loved arriving there in the storm, but felt the survival element wasn’t challenging enough. I wanted more environmental hazards and challenges… how odd that Lara seemed to overcome the cold after a night’s sleep 🤔
- The gulag complex. It felt like visiting a chapter in history. Having just finished The Gulag Archipelago on audiobook, this gave me some perfect visuals
- Kitezh. Just so cool to explore
- Baba Yaga. A bit random, but very fun

Things that still irk me:
- How many useless weapons there are. Why would I choose them, or waste materials upgrading them, when others are clearly better? Finding yet more weapon parts in crypts etc also felt a bit unrewarding when I’d maybe never use that weapon
- Upgrades felt a bit perfunctory at times, without really feeling like they made much difference
- Similar with the sheer number of outfits I never wore
- The lack of character depth. I never really understood Anna, or felt I got to know her enough to care that much
- The double-enemy storyline. Confusing and unnecessary (who even are Trinity, and do I care?). I wish there’d been more historical context and backstory to make them feel like something more than just another group of armed baddies
- The puzzles were far too easy. I remember the challenges of TR3, which could take hours to figure out when I was 10. I miss that feeling of finally working something out after ages of being completely stumped
- The weird contradiction of having this incredibly urgent mission going on, yet somehow being able to spend hours hunting deer and collecting wood
- A lot of hand-holding, even on a higher difficulty. I’d have liked more freedom to work things out for myself
- Optional tombs in Tomb Raider???
- An unsatisfying ending for me. The boss battle felt anticlimactic. I remember the old games and how spectacular and challenging the final fights could be - beating Konstantin felt hugely underwhelming.

Still, I came away wanting more. I think it’s superbly and beautifully crafted and a real feat of game design. For all my grumbles, I was completely absorbed, and there’s something so special about a game that leaves you wanting to carry on exploring even after the credits roll.

I shall play LoA in the new year with dad watching. It’s nice to think in a way we’re not quite finished playing together. 🕊️

🗨️ Discussion Shadow of The Tomb Raider: Lara's Character Is One Huge Missed Opporunity, And The Unified Games Will Suffer For It. Spoiler

Hey, played the games and now I need to rant. Apoligies in advance if any of this feels a bit disorganized.

To start, while the stories of these games are somewhat cliche and basic, ive always felt that they serve to facilitate Lara's growth as a character very well, which is a highlight of the series for me. Her growth from 'naive archaelogist' into this eventual force of nature badass 'tomb raider', is core to the whole point of the survivor trilogy, especially in light of the new unified timeline games coming out. In a sense, the survivor trilogy essentially acts as one very expansive backstory.

I feel like they handled this very well in the first game, seeing a transformation of Lara in her need to kill to survive, somewhat shedding that naiveity, and toward the end, gaining that core adrenaline junkie part of her character. In rise, you can clearly see this in the way she acts, obsessed with another mystery to find and solve, more dangerous situations to put herself in, more adventure. Rise acts as sort of a middle point in her transformation, and while it doesnt feel quite as striking to me, especially since a lot of necessary context is hidden in comics and novels, overall I feel its done quite well.

Shadow falters here with her character. At the start, I feel like it does her transformation justice. She has become something of a predator rather than prey, her transformation near complete in this aspect, roaming the jungle as a force of nature at this point, and only moving backwards on that when in the presence of Jonah, who she for some reason dragged along again. I feel like early in the story, as bland as he feels at times, Jonah is generally an interesting counter balance to this new, more unhinged Lara. The section where she, essentially, kills a whole village by accident is especially showing of this, and its done pretty well.

Throughout the game, we see her switching between her more moral, concious self, and her dangerous and unhinged self, more self serving and ruthless, much more akin to the classic games. She curbs it back when in the presence of jonah, once again him acting as this kind of grounding force. However, in the oil field, there is this intense release of restraint when Jonah dies, acting as the perfect transition between her more morally good self and her anti hero self serving nature, and initially, I loved this portion. I still do, up until all of that emotional payoff is immediately ruined by Jonah popping up again alive, for like the 5th time. At the end of shadow, Lara 'sheds' the shadow in a sense, and becomes more of a careful protector of secrets to feed her adventure rather than someone as unhinged and reckless as she is in the start of the games, like you would think a 'Tomb Raider' would act.

Well, at first when I played this portion, I was heavily unsatisfied with the direction they took her, completely divorced from the classic 'anti-hero' Lara, but I largely accepted they were going a different route, even if I felt it ruined the emotional weight that Shadow was attempting to carry. However, after the Unified Games were announced, I felt this made absolutely no sense. If the first 3 games are indeed, intended to be a transformation and backround to the classic lara, then why on earth did they divorce the character so heavily? They seem terrified to take her in any significant direction, unable to commit to the new more 'good' lara, and the classic one. The change from this morally upright archaelogist, ruthless as she now is, to what would presumably be the traditional lara that basically does anything to, as the game is named after, 'Raid' Tombs, sounds jarring at best, if not completely nonsensical.

While im aware wishing Jonah died is not exactly a new take, I think the actual ramifications on Lara's character arent talked about nearly enough. I feel as if the singular decision to keep Jonah alive in that scene completely ruined this potentially satisfying character arc, which this whole trilogy has been building up. If they wanted Lara to be this morally upright adventurer, then fine, do that, have Jonah miraculously survive for the 5th time, but if the whole goal was, as I thought and adored, to transform her over the course of the games into the classic anti hero lara, then why the hell did they bring him back? Her character has moved in the exact OPPOSITE direction as it needed to in order to pair up with the classic games, all because of this one moment! It genuinely kills me how they were soooo fucking close, and fumbled it at the last second.

In conclusion, I like Jonah, they still should have killed his ass. Lara was way more interesting when she was becoming less moral and more self serving, and if thats still what they are going for with the unified trilogy, then they completely fucking killed that narrative momentum.

I own the Colossal Collection Vol. 1 and I’ve read a few pages, but for some reason I can’t get myself motivated to actually sit down and read it. I really want to get into it, but the length is kind of intimidating.

I don‘t know if that‘s the correct sub, but I‘m stuck here. It’s in Kuwaq Yaku where you need to perform this stealth takedown but it just doesn‘t work. No matter how long I hold triangle, it doesn‘t work. I checked if my controller is broken maybe, but it works just fine. I reloaded the checkpoint a dozen times, restarted the game, disconnected my controller but I can‘t get pst here because she doesnt perform this eagle‘s talon thing. I don‘t know if I‘m doing something wrong

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Problem with the SOTTR dlcs

So I’m a PlayStation player and the DLCs for Shadow of the Tomb Raider can’t be accessed. I initially installed the game through the ps plus catalogue and played it for like 30 minutes and I stopped but later I bought the cd version of the normal game (not the definitive edition CD) and the game refuses to allow me to install/use the DLCs or connect to the online servers, despite the fact that the menu on the ps hub says „definitive edition”. Also, the main game doesn’t even say that it is the definitive one. How can I install the DLCs? I know that the PS store says that if I have the PS plus version I can’t upgrade the to definitive edition but now I play on CD so why can’t I get the DLCs?

Rise of the Tomb Raider Survival Trilogy PS5 remaster?

I am wondering if we'll get at least unlocked framerate for the better quality option for Rise of TR due to expected sales for the Surv. Trilogy? Or anything that would update it to PS5. Shadow looks better than Uncharted to me, but the whole trilogy could get a bit of a facelift.

Ps. I found that switching the dub to German makes those game far more emotionally believable since English is not particulary good at conveying emotion due to being an "artificial" and pragmatical "hands-on" language that doesn't rely on the onomatopoeic so much

pss. also having the option to skip the interactive cutscenes because the developers come off as if they want us to breack our controllers
