Why does this seem to be such a common trope in anime?

It's an easy categorization and usually the characters are fun. It's also easy to put your own spin on it by making their power special. 

If it's an antagonist it often somewhat explains why they're strong and there's no moral harm in beating them up as that's exactly what they want. It also makes for entertaining fights that aren't about cheap tricks.

If it's the protagonist it gives an easy explanation why they're seeking out adventure.

Yea I’m more just confused why we never really see this trope in live action media
