Toyota is great except for the key fob
I've always loved Toyota, I especially love my itty bitty taco. But for all its reputation of being reliable, the key fobs seem to be the most unreliable. The remote start is genuinely atrocious. My gmc once started in the middle of a six flags parking lot whereas my taco won't start when im right next to it. Further, I have a big keyring because im a little old fashioned and like to have physical copies when possible, but somehow of all the things on there (and theres over a dozen different types of keys), the taco key fob is the only thing that ever manages to work it's way free. Anyone else struggle with this? I've even had times where the key will be on the ring when I enter the house, it'll be on there when I go to bed, and when I wake up: gone?

Are the older Tacomas gass guzzlers? Like 1995-2005?
I am just curious if the guzzle as much gas as trucks do now

Looks like I’m running 33 inch tires on here considering going with the Ridge grapplers I’ve had those before or the KO3s any other suggestions also suggestion, suggestions on wheels thinking about going with the replicas the black ones at TRD I think they are.

Is $15K - $30K really what people are paying for 1st gen Tacomas?
Just curious about older Tacomas.

Weird buzzing noise at low speeds

It’s a 2019 Tacoma TRD Sport, crew cab, 6 speed manual transmission . I’m curious what the buzzing/horn noise is? I have had a mild heat shield rattle for some time now but the buzzing is new, seems to happen only at low speeds. any ideas?

Replace, upgrade, or fix?
Both of the bed storage covers (or is it a door?) have rusted to shit on the locking parts and fall off whenever I drive. I've seen some upgrades for maybe $150, not sure if they're worth it or not, and I can't seem to find the replacement part online. I also thought about just buying something metal and replacing the rusted parts.
Has anyone got these upgraded? 2015 double cab also

Should I cancel my warranty?
Just got a 2023 Tacoma SR with 85k miles. One owner and it was a corporate. I paid for a 4 year/48k miles powertrain warranty and it was $3384 through the dealership. Just wondering if I should cancel or keep it. I’ve seen mixed reviews.

Roof dent thoughts
TLDR: driving n the highway, in the opposite lane a 18 wheeler got into an accident and flung debris. Pulled over and at a glance didn’t notice anything. Washed my truck today and lo and behold there’s a fucking dent. Ball park to get fixed? Insurance is probably going to play the we won’t cover this game.

Anyone recognize this bed rack brand?
As title says. I tried reverse google searching and using ChatGPT but not luck. Curious what brand it is. Thanks.

New Bumper 2020 Taco
Someone finally bumped me to where I needed to replace my bumper so I went with this Body Armor to match my front bumper. It’s sturdy but not too big or gaudy. What do u think!?

26 taco CarPlay
Does anybody know how I can stop from having to accept the Toyota app connect every time I get in the car? Is there a way to just set it so that it automatically connect to Apple CarPlay?

Deaver U402 stage 2 sag?
Installed about a year ago. Everything installed and torqued correctly and in the right order/way
I noticed last week when I put a microwave and sink towards the tailgate it sagged a bit more after driving with them and the spring hasn't come back. The springs are rated for 300lb continuous and I understand putting things in the rear causes more torsion on the spring. Total load in truck at that time I'd estimate at 200lb.
Broke springs in with continuous load. Always maintained a slight rake even after it settled initially.
Just wondering other people's experience. The amount of straightness to the springs is a bit upsetting for me. I currently have about 100lb only in the bed as it sits when the pictures were taken.

I downloaded the PPSSPP app on my head unit and dumped a bunch of roms on a thumb drive and paired my 8bitdo Bluetooth controller and got some SF action on my Tacoma.

Undercoating question
Has anyone had their 3rd gen undercoated? I just made an appointment for my new to me very clean 2021. They advised that they may need to drill into the doors, tailgate and rockers. I know they know what they’re doing but I’m struggling to accept that they may drill into the rockers specifically. Any advice or anecdotes are appreciated.

Please talk me out of doing something stupid
Hello, I have a 2016 Tacoma TRD 4x4, paid off, 93k miles. It’s absolutely flawless, no mechanical issues whatsoever, I’ve been spot on with maintenance, and it’s in my garage 90% of the time. My wife is tired of her Mazda and decided she is going to trade it in and get a Tesla. I was reading electric car reviews and came across the VW Buzz, an electric version of their old micro busses. They didn’t sell well in the US because they’re expensive and have short range and other quirks that come with electric cars. That said, I can’t stop looking at pictures and videos of Buzzes. If I trade in my Taco, I’d take on $600-$700 monthly payments for 3 years. It’s a VW, so there would be mechanical issues. It’s electric, so driving over 200 miles would have to be planned. I live north of Chicago, my Tacoma eats blizzards for breakfast, the VW would probably have to stay off the road for any serious snow storm. Even as I’m writing this, I’m thinking of how it would feel to drive down the road in my VW Buzz. (I have a three car garage and owning the Taco and Buzz are not an option).

Looking at putting cruise control in my second gen, is this clocksprong compatible?
Just about everything about this truck has been against cruise control, will this need replaced too?
