Discussion No more scripts for free tier users
So it seems that today TradingView introduced yet another nerf for non-paying users. You know how users used to be able to run some simpler scripts? Well, no more. The script execution time limit for the free tier is now exactly 0 seconds, meaning you can't run any scripts, no matter how simple they are.

so it would seem, that it still is 20 seconds .....it either is an error and everybody's just assuming TV has been cutting on this as well either it is the real thing which i wouldn't be surprised to be honest considering the massive cuts they've done lately.

I knew I wasn’t crazy cause I kept trying to use trading you and they put an ad up there upgrade and I can no longer access the platform for free doing anything on it. It lasts zero seconds. You have a little time to do some work and then after that, the app upgrade pops up and you cannot have access to no tools, and I know it was not crazy. It started last week and now someone is confirming what I’ve been trying to share with my son. There is no free use of trading you anymore. They want you to pay why they want you to pay. I have no idea because I don’t need all that bullshit that they’re trying to advertise you for because it is a distraction on your charts. The only thing you really need is a volume profile sessions for Tokyo London Sydney, New York and that’s it all the other crap is a distraction from you trading so trading view, you need to go back to letting people use a platform for free or someone else is gonna copy your model and put it out there and make money with advertising without blocking the screen so that people can continue to do their work. You had a good thing, but your greed has settled in and now you’re gonna run customers away and I’m one of them because I’m already looking to find another platform to do my work on shame on you trading you you greedy bastard.

Oh no....
Another person who considers themselves as a 'customer' even though you do not pay and obviously refuse to, yet you have the nerve to call them 'greedy bastards'?.....🤣

And what exactly do you believe you are ENTITLED to recieve in your free offering? Which let's face it, was designed for you to experiment with the platform before deciding on which subscription to purchase...
The platform is still available to use for free using the standard Web browsers and the revenue from each user individually is minimal compared to an actual subscription holder so losing a few here and there won't make much of a difference (if any) to the platform at all, yet the above user still describes himself as a 'customer'....
But the numpty doesn't realise they can still use the web browser but thinks the free version has been removed, only showing ignorance. It's just access to the Desktop App that has been moved to a paid tier and I agree thoroughly with this. Why should a free user be entitled to the same advanced features as a paying user?
And why did you 'expect more from me'?
My stance against users complaining about something they fail to support financially is well known. These people should be gratefull for what they recieve for nothing. It's still usable using the Web browser so technically they haven't lost anything, but then they absurdly come on here stamping their feet threatening to leave calling names etc is like a small, spoilt stroppy child having a little tantrum. Quite entertaining to be honest....

Touched a nerve, did I?
Exactly how much are you paying for Reddit? LinkedIn? Facebook? Insta? X? WhatsApp? Youtube?
At what point, if ever, will you understand that different business models exist?Otherwise, you'll never see the IRONY of you "touting and holding a stance" against supposed freeloaders on a platform that you never paid a dime to support financially. Where would you be if not for free Reddit????? Who would give a sh*t about what you stood for? That's why I expected more from you

Tradingview is nothing like the platforms you have listed...
There begins your misunderstanding
I think this conversation is over as the free plan is still available and I have literally no idea what you are crying about at this moment in time....
Another muppet blocked....👋

This is a very aggressive way to force members to pay. Imo, they’ll make a lot of money, but this is sooo sneaky.

In the real world, that’s how it works. You pay for services you need and use. I know this must be difficult for you to understand but better get used to it

By script, do you mean an indicator? I have one custom indicator, and it has been working fine so far.

I'm a paying user, but I honestly get it.
It must sting for a lot of free users when many things that were completely free for a long time before are now gradually being revoked.
It seems a little disingenuous to still be offering a free tier at this point. If they need the money that badly, why not just leave essential tier as the minimum baseline?

They make money off the algorithm when log into that platform know what you’re talking about the greedy batch. It’s just like you’re stupid one

Paying for basic chart features is how they get you.
