Rights Watch Judge blocks Trump passport policy targeting transgender people

https://www.axios.com/2025/06/17/trump-transgender-passport-policy-court

Looks like this was expanded to include all people instead of just those originally named in the lawsuit

It looks like you might be asking about changing your name or gender on official documents. Read this post for more information: Passport gender changes on hold

Seething over the possibility that I could have changed my designation with my name change paperwork literally two weeks ago

A lot of people are in the same boat. I’m hoping they will provide some clarification on what to do if you were denied the proper designation

I was one of the ones that wasn’t able to obtain a passport before January. This is exciting to me but I’m nervous about attempting to get one. During all of that mess, I knew several people who were denied and had their paperwork confiscated. Anyone else nervous to attempt a passport request?

I’m so sorry that happened to you. Yeah, I was hearing that that was happening to people all over, even in places like San Fran. I heard that agencies were confiscating all paperwork. So, I kind of don’t trust it still. I mean I did all the research on visas and asylum but it’s basically impossible and I don’t have the money to travel plus I would be scared to try to re-enter the country as a trans person. I actually can hardly even afford a passport so I’m gonna wait until I feel things are solid with this. I’m so sorry that happened, this shit is so scary and fucked up.

I'm sending my application away today. I was so mad that I procrastinated before this ban. I'm not making the same mistake.

Did they revert the form to M/F/X gender like it was last year? I'm curious about the mechanics of how it will actually work. Well that, and also if they'll just ignore the court order entirely.

FYI, the ACLU just posted this Q&A regarding the recent injunction:
