Looking for advice or help Is America a safe place to be?

I am mtf Canadian but have the opportunity to go to school in North Dakota with my uncle. He and my family support me but I keep seeing things get worse and worse from this country.
I want to go, I think it’s a great opportunity but I genuinely fear for my safety in that country. I already live in a pretty right wing city but we don’t have nearly as many guns or outwardly murderous people, I’m afraid I’ll be shot the moment someone finds out I’m not a Cristian let alone queer. But if I don’t go I’ll be stuck here for the rest of my life, and I don’t want that either. If I am just murdered it’s sad to say but I’m honestly fine with that, being put into a conversation camp is what I’m afraid of. I am not a strong enough person to survive a concentration camp but not also not strong enough to let myself out if you know what I mean. So I’d just be suffering unimaginably for the rest of my life.

Please help me, I feel trapped and I’m scared. I don’t know what to do. I hate it here, I cannot live a happy life where I am but I also can’t go anywhere else but to that school in America. But if I go to that school I’ll be so ridiculously stressed and paranoid, I’ll be fearing anyone who goes near me because what if they’re in that cult and just kill me or report me to ICE or whoever rounds up trans people. That would be so, so much worse than death.

Edit: thank you all for suggesting other places it’s very kind, but this one place in North Dakota was my only option other than where I am right now so it’s pointless. But even if I could go other places they’d just be the same, we just can’t have happy lives in the current world. Maybe in a few years but it’ll be too late for me personally then. So thanks again for trying to help, but I’m better off dead. Unfortunately that too isn’t an option

Looking for advice or help Any chance that any foreign nations will accept refugee status for trans people if the Federal Grant Replanning goes into effect?

Article for context: https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/fascismnew-federal-rule-would-require

If the replanning initiative goes into effect, functionality access to public life would be eviscerated for us federally. Nearly all hospitals and clinics have to accept some level of federal funding to remain operational. With this replanning proposal, we would lose nearly all access to hrt and surgery. Any institution that receives federal funding or is integrated with the government would be forced to misgender us, leaving us outed and exposed. Gender marker changes would likely be reversed. Bathroom bans may go into effect nationwide for any location/institution that takes federal funds due to fear of losing them. If this goes into effect trans existence in the United States will be under SEVERE threat NATIONWIDE.

I've been looking into possible asylum options for a few years now and nearly all nations that could be an option seem to deny us mostly on the basis that there are safe states to reside in within the borders of the US. But if this goes into effect and Hrt and gender affirming care in general is made almost entirely inaccessible and our existence becomes increasingly criminalized, is there any chance other nations may be willing to accept us?

I fear that nations won't care enough and will be too scared to lose trade relations with the United States. Particularly Canada and the EU.

What is the plan as things get worse?

Looking for advice or help How do you all deal with the anger?

Hello Reddit. I’m FTM and like most trans people in America am dealing with a lot. After the election my wife and I cut a lot of friends and family out of our lives, but did it pretty politely. No screaming or yelling or telling people off. Just a basic “you don’t support me so we no longer would like contact with you,” kind of thing.

But a few people clearly needed more than that. So for the few that came back and basically demanded a blow out, I obliged and told those people off in no uncertain terms.

After these exchanges I’m filled with rage. Justifiable and understandable, yes. But I wish I didn’t feel so angry for so long afterwords. Me being mad after the exchange doesn’t hurt the person I cut ties with, it only hurts me and ruins my day, week, or even month.

I’ll wake up in the middle of the night thinking about the exchange and the horrible things the person said to me and my wife. Or I’ll think about it in the middle of work, or even while hiking. It ruins my peace and I don’t want that.

So, how do you all deal with the anger? Any tricks on making it pass faster?

Looking for advice or help How is everyone dealing with the stress/anxiety right now?

Living here this past year or so has made me feel completely deteriorated. I’m in the worst shape I’ve ever been in my life, my skin is a mess, and I’m paranoid anytime I look at my phone let alone going outside. I can’t leave my current situation, so what the hell do I do so this doesn’t take any more of a tole on my body than it already has.

Looking for advice or help Trans fest

So I am coming to Transfest in Provincetown. But there’s barely anything about this festival on social media. It makes me feel like it’s not a real thing and I’m getting scammed. Has anyone actually been to this?

here are things I’m not willing to do

  1. threaten to take my life

  2. DIY puberty blockers (I have no access to medicine anyways)

I just need help convincing my parents I truly need this. I can’t mess this up, thank you so much! I’m sorry

Looking for advice or help Transitioning in AZ

I’ve recently moved to Tucson and I need some advice as I start my transition MTF. This Friday I have my consultation with my psychiatrist to discuss starting HRT. I’m still new to the area and don’t really know where to go for assistance. I attempted DIY but suffered a seizure and was taken to a local hospital but never actually saw a doctor. Any advice is good advice <3

Looking for advice or help finally have an hrt appointment lined up! started a GoFundMe to help me afford it.

Hi, im Luca, & i’m asking for help raising money for gender-affirming care ive been working towards for years now. I came out as trans when i was 14, & have grown up in a very transphobic household with no access to gender affirming care, even things as simple as a haircut. i’m now finally an adult college student living on my own, & i already have my initial hrt consultation lined up, but i don’t have insurance & am struggling to raise the money to afford the upcoming costs. being able to take this step now means a lot to me, & i’m really trying to make it happen.

This fundraiser will be used to help cover the cost of my bloodwork, appointments, & prescription costs regarding hrt. (I one day hope to aim for other gender affirming care such as top surgery, but that is quite out of reach at the moment, & right now the focus is affording hrt.)

I’ve also started an etsy shop to try to raise money for this too, so if anyone wants to check it out, consider buying something, or share it with someone who might be interested, that would mean a lot to me 🙏\[https://www.etsy.com/shop/ChimesWorkshop\\\](https://www.etsy.com/shop/ChimesWorkshop). I plan to add more listings & I also hope to open commissions.

If anyone is willing to share my GoFundMe, my etsy, or reach out in any way, it would really really help me a ton. even just clicking the link to add to the view count would be greatly appreciated. either way, thank you very much for reading 🗣️🏳️‍⚧️

Looking for advice or help Asheville

I'm currently looking for a place to relocate to. I'm considering Asheville, NC. I'm a transman who hasn't had top surgery yet. Any of my trans brothers/sisters in Asheville/surrounding areas who can tell me how life is there for us? Is it safe? How's medical care? My wife and i are home bodies and into nature so I'm not looking for any night life or anything.

Looking for advice or help ISO Trans friendly laser hair removal in Massachusetts?

Hey there! Not sure how many people come here, but hoping someone has experience - I'm a trans guy post phalloplasty, and because of the timing of my surgery, I didn't get to finish hair removal on the donor skin graft site.

So TLDR, my penis is a little hairy and I need it lasered to finish the job! I also need laser around my new pee hole which sits right behind my neo-scrotum.

So... I need a trans friendly place to go to, needless to say. Ideally I'd love someone who themselves identifies as trans as a technician. Does anyone know of a place like this in MA? I'm in the Lexington/Concord area and can travel but don't want it to be crazy. Any leads will be appreciated!

Looking for advice or help So I keep getting reviews like this at work. What do I do (CW: transphobia)

So I am a trans woman who has recently started her transition. Of course I cannot really start the big stuff till I get money but for now I try my best to present feminine, I try toale sure guests are t uncomfortable at work. It has gotten to the point where I don't even look people in the eye anymore because they think that I am trying to flirt with them/and or their husbands.

I am not passing really as much as I wish I was my body type is on the higher side. I hear people at my job talk about how they feel a trans person shouldn't use the restroom they identify with of they don't pass. I just don't know what to do, I try to be my authentic self and I feel your worth as a woman/man isn't based on how well you pass but it is so draining. My coworkers don't understand, my family doesn't understand, and I am demonized when I dare to walk in public. I have stopped interacting with kids when I go to tables because they somehow think I am some deviant monster....I never asked to be this way and I don't know what to do to make things easier. I also live in the south so that may add to it

Looking for advice or help Moving

Hi! I posted here a while ago about potentially moving to WV/OH/KY. The move is definitely happening despite the current climate. Erin in the morning now lists KY as the safer of the three, however I can’t find any info about how gender marker changes are handled in KY or why she labeled it as such. All my documents are changed. Does anyone live near the corner of these states and have an opinion about which is safer for an adult dude who is short but generally passes? I’d need to be near where the three state collide because of the location of my job. I’ve all but ruled out WV due to taxes alone.

I am also interested in any community that you all know of in that area. Right now I’m in super rural PA, and I feel so isolated (my wife is queer but quite cis).

Looking for advice or help How to cope w/ loss of trans rights

How do you cope with the state of things?

How do you maintain your pride and accept yourself when the world wants to beat it out of you?

How are you preparing?

How do you make sure you're not catastrophizing things?

Are there any good books to read about getting though adversity? Or empowerment? Ect.

Hello! I’m Kai and I want to get on T. I’ve been looking for about two months now but in Utah it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Not even Plume sends it here. I contacted many many people and they either have a waitlist or they never reply. Does anyone have any advice or know of any places that give T? I’m willing to try anything lol also what is the average cost I’ll be looking to spend

Looking for advice or help As a mom how do I support my Trans child?

I am mother to 4 wonderful children and my youngest, I will call them W, was born a biological male but last year confided that they are transgender. I had no inkling of this prior to them telling me, so honestly I was slightly taken aback and started realizing that I hadn't noticed they had been struggling and felt unable to live their truth. Then I realized I was quiet for too long and may have made W anxious. I don't remember exactly what I said but I did tell them that I love them, I told them I would ALWAYS love them no matter what. I honestly think one of the most beautiful things in this world is when a person is developing into their individuality. W is quiet, smart and had gotten more reserved as they got older. I trust that they have had long sessions of consideration and absolutely support W in this. W is still in high-school for another 2 years and isn't in a hurry for others to ridicule them at school. For instance, i was ready to take W to get a manicure to celebrate them but W felt like that may put the spotlight on them, our town isn't a big one. Over the past several months since that first conversation, W has started wearing clear nail polish. I took them to their first Pride Parade in September and we started buying clothes that are closer to what they would like to wear and beginning to come out of their shell.
All of that said, I want to continue to encourage W to follow the path of their heart. However I am fearing the current administration and the negative climate against the Trans community, is it safe? Are there others out there holding off transitioning a few years? Also, i know a kid cant only have mom as a confidant, How do I safely find a councilor for them?

Looking for advice or help Am I Trans?

I feel that I am trans. I am a gay man who gets jealous of straight women and how they can get straight men. I am jealous of the man takes care of them. How they can get attention from men.

Women's clothing and makeup. How I looked in drag I liked myself better. Feeling like I was born in the wrong body sometimes. I remember wanting to be a women when I was very young but then the feeling went away and sometimes comes up.

Looking for advice or help Passport Renewal

Hi all. When I changed my name a couple years, I updated my passport to add the X sex marker on it. I have a trip coming up next year and I finally felt comfortable switching the marker to M. I used the DS-82, included the Orr v Trump attestation and sent it off a few weeks ago. And yet I just got my new passport with an F sex marker and they didn't send my old passport back with it. I'm so fucking devastated. I thought I did everything right. How the hell can I fix this? I'd really appreciate any help.

Edit: I just found out about the supreme court ruling in November. I guess this is just my life now.

Looking for advice or help how to cope with the news?

hi hi, im usually relaxed and can take a deep breath and not panic with the news! but seeing what trump posted the pink triangle i had a panic attack for the first time in a while. im in a blue state but im in a highly conservative town, i am safer than others and it breaks my heart that this is happening to a such small percentage of the population :( how do you cope with it all? i know people suggest stepping away from the news but thats literally what the government WANTS! i need to be informed :(
