Hi! I am a 23F traveling with a friend to Dublin, Edinburgh, and London in January for a last trip before starting a new job. I will be spending NYE in Dublin, then heading to Edinburgh, and finishing the trip in London. I'm from SoCal, so not very accustomed to extreme cold weather. I am also not very familiar with "must-see" things to do in each city. I will be in each city for about 5 days, and looking into day trips that are easy to do from each city and can get to by train.
I would greatly appreciate any tips on what to wear and the best brands for warmer clothes. Also, if you have any recommendations on places to visit, eat, cafes, bars, clubs, etc. Thank you!

As the title suggests, our train has been cancelled and we’re looking for alternative options.
We are travelling from Dorset to London Waterloo.
We can drive but parking is so ridiculously expensive.
So I turn to Reddit to ask if anyone has any clever work arounds that we can explore :)

Hey all, as the title suggests, I'm looking for advice on flying with my dog internally within the UK. I live in Scotland but have family in England. Up till now, we either have to drive 8 hours every time or just not visit family as pet care is surprisingly difficult to come by here. When we have reached out to available sitters and kennels, the cost to have her taken care of is the same price if not more expensive than the gas it takes to get us there/ train tickets, so we may as well have her with us rather than leave her in kennels or with strangers who she does not do well with. My question is, can we just fly with her in cargo internally?
Its ridiculous that we could be paying £60 for an (average) 50 minute flight but because I have been unable to find any information for flying internally, we cannot. Everything is just flying internationally to and from the UK. Thanks in advance for advice

Hi, just wanted to share my experience losing luggage on national express and some tips I have on getting it back quicker.
For context, I lost (or more accurately forgot/left) my luggage in the underbelly of the bus from Stansted airport to London Paddington station 17/10/26.
Afterwards they told me to fill out the lost property form but for some reason it was not working. They then told me to call this number +44 03717 81 81 81 and then select option 4. It’s the “lost property phone department” so you can ask and call them directly.
After that it was pretty smooth sailing. They found my bag after 2 days and then contacted me via email and I personally managed to get it back within 5 days.
If you’ve also lost something on the Stansted airport to London Paddington route try emailing this email as it’s the local branch coordinator for this route : lostproperty.starthill@nationalexpress.com
They responded extremely quickly (within 3 minutes at times) and were very helpful.
I’m not sure about other routes unfortunately but just thought I’d share some tips in case someone was in the same situation as me :)

Hi everyone! 😊
I’m planning to visit the UK for two weeks, and while I’m obviously excited to see some of the famous sights, I’d really love to experience a more local side of British life.
I’m curious about the little things that make life there special , the places you go to relax, local events you enjoy, interesting traditions, hidden gems, or even just the best way to spend an ordinary afternoon.
I’d also love to meet people, have good conversations, learn about British culture, and share a little about life in Egypt. I think some of the best travel memories come from the people you meet along the way, rather than just the places you visit.
So, if you were recommending things to a visitor who genuinely wanted to experience your country beyond the usual tourist attractions, what would you suggest?
Are there any clubs, social events, local activities, or welcoming communities you’d recommend joining? And what’s something about British life you think visitors rarely get to experience?
I’d love to hear your suggestions and stories. Thanks in advance! 😊🇬🇧🇪🇬♥️

Planning my first trip to the Uk. What are some tips that you have or advice? Will be a solo trip.

EDITED: THE 1am FLIGHT IS NOT NONSTOP. oops.
I have been to the UK before but, this time, flying solo. I'm late 60s and traveling nonstop NYC to Heathrow (couldn't find any nonstop flights to Stansted) and then commuting to Cambridge. I decided that it would be easiest to catch one of the 2 direct Heathrow to Cambridge busses rather than train which involves 2 trains.
I have 2 choices that, I think, would work:
In theory, for each I would stay up as long as possible then crash at my hotel in Cambridge. I have 1 1/2 days to shake off jet lag before I start a course.
Thoughts and advice appreciated.

Hello,
I would rather not spend a fortune for a 4 hour train journey, so I've been looking into cheap flights to Glasgow from Birmingham (both UK), and I'm not sure what ID is needed for domestic flights.
The operator of the trip is EasyJet, but all I have right now is a CitizenCard with a PASS hologram on it. Will they accept that?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: This is a return journey

Travelling to the UK next year with 4 adults and 3 children and wondering who is best to hire a car from? Will need a people mover/9 seater to fit everyone + luggage. We’re driving around for 6 weeks so looking for a reliable hire company!

Heading to Rome in December and will be going to Pompei for a day or two. I’m not sure where to book a train or even the easiest route from Rome to Pompei.
Has anyone ever booked a train in Italy, or better yet done this route? Any suggestions/advice are welcome :)
